  • How come Rampardos gets the first move against Electivire?

  • @T0SHI045 Rampardos is carrying a Choice Scarf.

  • @Overhazard Okay! Thanks for replying. I didn't know that it raises its speed sharply.

  • if i trade a magmortar with magmizare (i think thats how u spell it) into PBR will it evolve??? same with electabuzz

  • @popoyuo1 No, because PBR only copies the Pokémon onto the game. There is no trading taking place.

  • the japanese battle announcer sounds better. way better. unfortunately I dont have the japanese version, but then, I don't have the japanese diamond or pearl so...

  • ok nice battle so far

  • I'm sort of surprised your opponent didn't switch to Electivire after that first Thunderbolt. It would have activated Motor Drive and prevented damage. Probably wouldn't have made much of a difference in the long run, but at least it would have prevented a bit of damage and saved Magmortar. And can't Electivire learn Earthquake?

Good match! It's a shame your opponent didn't see it through to the end, or at least properly forfeit. =) Assuming it was intentional and not just coincidence.

  • Ignore that Earthquake comment. I should really watch videos all the way through before commenting.

  • Was Rampardos Ev trained in defense? I thought that Rampardoses have bad defenses.

  • lol at the noob that quit.

  • hey it might not be his fault, maybe the power in his neighborhood went out, or his dog ate his Wii.

  • yes cuz dogs sure love to eat electrical appliances

  • Some dogs will eat anything.

  • @Overhazard

    like mine XD

  • your good at this game i want to battle you sometime

    i am hard to beat

  • I've seen a lot of ur videos and i must say Overhazard, u are quite amazing on the field.

I personally don't have pbr...yet. Or platinum (my ds was stolen), but i've always wanted to battle other ppl online.

Do u ev train ur pokemon tho? I was wondering about that. I personally don't, i see it as more of a challenge that way. lol

  • As a matter of fact, I do EV-train my Pokémon. It's probably a pretty uncommon thing to see Pokémon like the ones I use get EV training.

  • Wonder why that Magmortar didn't use a fire move...

  • ok coo battle but how did you teach Manectric to use Flamethrower?

  • Through a TM. This can only be done in the 4th generation.

  • Nice game. Anyways does anyone know if you can connect Platinum up to PBR?

  • Yes, you can.

  • Was it like a update for it, or made like that from the start?

  • PBR's compatible with all DS Pokémon games. Of course, you won't be seeing the new formes of Shaymin, Rotom, or Giratina here. They revert bac to their regular selves.

  • Man, I've come to realize most Trainers on PBR as sore losers. You know, the ones who wait until the last possible second to decline your Friend Pass if they lose, and the ones who intentionally turn off their Internet or their Wii if they know they're going to lose.

I may not have the game, but watching you battle other trainers is all I need. Well, maybe not all. I'm still a newbie.

  • There are a lot of sore losers with any game that can become competitive. (Not just video games, if anyone remembers the Zidane headbutt at the World Cup a while ago.) Games like PBR give no penalties for being a bad sport, so you see it happen a lot.

  • The same thing happens on Super Smash Bros. Brawl; if they lose, people will purposefully go into Sudden Death mode with another player and stay off-screen so the bombs don't hit them, wasting your time.

  • any1 want a pokerus regigigas for a magmortar

  • Anyone already tested if Platinum works on PBR, like copying the Pokémon already instead of trding and such...?

  • Wow, very impressive. I'd like to see how you fare against the aforementioned Platinum-infused teams.

Speaking of Platinum, I'm guessing that you've received an offer from pretty much every one of your subscribers who have gotten the game to teach your Pokémon Move Tutor attacks?

  • I do, from time to time. I trade rare items, as I can obtain them fairly easily.

  • I obtain all of my items in-game (aside from the Berries held by event Pokémon), so I only end up with one or two of each. The Underground really helps with other rare items, though.

  • Well, I mean stuff like the Lucky Egg or the Black Sludge, among others. Most of the items, I noticed, can be obtained in bulk quantities if you know how to look for them.

  • Oh, wild Pokémon Hold Items. Those are especially aggravating to get for me. I still have horrible flashbacks to the days of Gold and Silver... I spent so much time trying to get a Lucky Egg from various wild Chansey.

  • I've nabbed two Lucky Eggs so far, and I'll most likely trade it away for the next time I need a Platinum Move.

(That move is Helping Hand, by the way.)

  • Really? Heck, I'd do it for free. I like helping people out (giving them a "helping hand," if you will), but asking for any sort of payment makes me feel uncomfortable.

  • Hey, that works too, if people prefer that.

I've already come up with the Pokémon and mvoes for the next team. The Move Tutor moves I need are pretty normal this time around: Helping Hand and Fire Punch.

  • Let's see... According to Serebii, that would total six Blue Shards, four Red Shards, four Yellow Shards, and two Green Shards.

I can do that, no problem.

  • All right. Just not right now, as I haven't trained those Pokémon yet. or even started breeding for them.

  • Okay, no problem at all. Just let me know when you have finished training them, and I'll be glad to help.

  • ... -____- i really hate when other players disconnect is very coward!!!

  • Why do the USA always get Nintendo games before months before Europe gets them? It's unfair to say the least -_-, the Japanese are already annoying with Platinum moves (Scizor) and now I can expect even more while I have none...

Anyway, good battle. It's nice to see this team again!

  • So the early mornings and late nights is the best way to find Japanese trainers?

I should take advantage of Spring Break and get some practice against those guys!

  • custap,^_^

i luv that berry!i use it in doubles,i explode with one fellow, the oter endures it,and when they bring the next guys out,i use a 100% blizzard from my abamasnowm=P

  • wait wait a second talking about platinum can you put your platinum pokemon in PBR? or do you have to pass them to diamond/pearl to be able to use em in PBR? cause I really wanna buy Platinum and Battle Revolution!

  • Yes, you can bring the Platinum Pokémon onto PBR. However, Rotom, Giratina, and Shaymin go back to their regular selves.

  • So,is it possible to copy Pokemon from Platinum to PBR without trading to a Diamond or pearl?

  • Yes, you can. But you'd need a separate save file for each DS Pokémon game.

  • HOORAY!

  • Really, not only DP but Platinum too? Nice!

  • Oh thats so awesome!!! thnx for telling me this! I will buy them now

  • When are the hours that you can usually battle against Japanese players?

Do night-time U.S. and day-time Japan play a role in it?

  • Japan is 8 hours ahead of California, I think. The extremely late night and early morning are the best times to find them, particularly on Saturday when there's no school.

  • OO your opponent could've used a some type of related Magmortar-Electrivre bait for speed boost, but again he wasn't that pro lol

  • i used something like that for set 8 fianl, i noticed kyogre had choice scarf so sent out gyrados and switched to electiveire his mewtwo and kyorge used thunder giving 2 speed boosts and sweeped them with electivre cause ev trained atck a little and gave life orb. I also had tryaniter and dialga which thunder is weak to so it was pretty easy after that, partfrom when his plakia got rid of 2 pokemon in 2 turns

  • I was expecting the Gyarados-Electivire bait and switch, but it apparently never happened.

  • well, we european who hadn't import the game will also have some problems on online matches :/

So be lucky for those who have Platinum Moveset!

  • Good Manecric. Mine is a bit similar.

It has: T-Bolt, Flamethrower, Light Screen and Thunder Wave.

  • Based on comments in matches where I give in, people seem to find surrendering as a way bigger shame thn just running away and pretending something didn't happen.

Surrendering is a legitimate tactic, just like everything else. People are so afraid of feeling inferior nowadays...

  • Smogon updates itself when people submit in move suggestions, and Serebii is doing some major updates to its Pokémon profiles.

As for UU teams, pick any Pokémon you wish. Your strategies will determine your matches way more than your choice of Pokémon.

  • Good job and I'm playing Pokemon now so I can't wait either. lol.

  • Thank you for taking my request of usingf the Connor pass and also saying North America instead of just USA!

  • nice video

  • Smogon and Shoddybattle have already experienced the benefits of platinum for a while now.

Scizor gained Bullet Punch and is now the #1 OU pokemon, assuming Manaphy isn't allowed; Hypnosis dropped back to 60% accuracy; several pokemon got coverage moves like Superpower and Heatwave; many pokemon gained access Trick, and tricking when both pokemon have a choice items allows you to choose a new move now; the elemental punches are tutor-able again; etc.

  • I bet Platinum will have the competitive battlers buzzing with excitement as they have their Pokemon learn strong, threatening, and maybe unexpected moves to gain the edge in Pokemon battles.

  • what's so powerful about the move tutor? It already didn't seem hard to get him heart scales, is he wanting something different?

  • the platinum move tutors want shards for teaching your pokemon some moves that they cannot learn normally

  • The move tutors work like HMs... Except you lose shards each time you ask for their services (remeber those useless things you could use to get the weather TMs?).

They teach effective moves like heat wave and seed bomb to whatever can learn them..

  • You spelled "game" wrong on your description(just to point it out)

Oh and anyone else think it's silly that a zapdos can learn heat wave?

  • Damn near every flyer can, too. It' weird.

  • Thanks. I'll fix it.

  • At least Marriland started a pokemon platimum walkthrough, he did it in japanese so if you guys want to know how to beat it fast which i dont reccomend not to do, then check him out.

  • Wow people bought the game just for the move tutor there has to be more than one reason why they bought it but still cant wait to see tons of people with their platimum teams. I guess now people can be more creative, seeing new moves etc and more strateges instead of the same ones over and over. Nice battle.

  • That disconnect is a way of saying "Dude, I ain't gonna stay and lose to you. I'm out."

  • btw how do you ev train egg pokemon cuz when i ev train skymaroy with the right ev pokemon attached with pkrs and macho brace whats going on and are you aware of the pokemon video game world championsh! 2009 in san diego

  • it is like every pokemon in platinum can learn outrage blastoise sceptile nidoking nidoqueen is there

  • O.O Switching in with a Rampardos? Risky.

And speaking of Platinum. Uh oh. I just noticed two powerful moves Rampardos can learn:

    Superpower and Outrage...

  • It was more of a test for this person's battling style more than anything else. I knew it was risky, but Pokémon battling is largely about taking risks based on what you know about your opponent.

And if what you say is true, it looks like it's time to replace Return with something else, as that was just a filler move. Outrage would be great against the Uber users I face.

  • What he says is indeed true. He also gets Iron Head and a couple of other neat physical moves, but Outrage would probably be the best option, considering that Connor is a Singles pass, and your Rampardos is Scarfed.

  • So is Light Screen accounted for right as it's put up? I want to try a doubles team where one Pokemon Icy Winds and another attacks, but I don't think the Speed drop is put into effect until the whole turn is over.

  • Light Screen happens as soon as it appears, yes. In the case of Speed increases and drops, though, they don't impact the match until the beginning of the next turn.

  • pychic is very useful, plus you get a free one from PBR

  • The third pkm is prolly' teh pbr pikachu, which would be threat due to surf.

  • Pikachu isn't on that team.

  • I see your using the Connor pass again. I'm just glad to see Manetric cause some trouble.

  • Bullet Punch Scizor. Watch out for it.

  • I'm definitely aware of that. It's at the top of the list among Platinum upgrades.

  • well, even before Platinum came in the USA out, I've faced only Scizors with BulletPunch (japanese players)

  • I've been debating about whether or not to get Platinum. I might if it turns out that I'm getting whopped from being too behind.
