you should make sure next time the shadow of your camera isn't in any of your shots :) but good job man! i know from experience how hard/time consuming filming yourself riding is.
Yeah i like mine, but I accidentally dropped in a stream while setting up a shot! It made some weird noises and the screen went all squiggly and it just seemed to die!
Luckily after I got home and dried it out by ketting it sit outside for a few hours, it's working perfectly again!
I just used it out of the box no filters or alternate lenses. I did get a wide angle lens but took out the macro so it has a more of a barrel effect, but you can't zoom with it, which is fine since I use a tripod anyway.
Nice camera BUT. Go to the menu and put it into sports mode for most of the moving shots. It will look 100x better. For shots when the cam is on a tripod regular will do.
i think that depends on what capture program you have... the HV30 records onto DV tapes... when I capture my clips to computer, they are saved as .avi's i believe.
Nice camera, just the manual controls are a bit fiddly but the best $500 camera out there still period!!

What lens did you use?
Can you show a comparison with and without the lens?
I'm about to buy one of these cams and I'm looking for a wide angle lens.

Amazing! Approx. how much was the camera?

Well, it really depends on where you buy it. The range is from about $500-$900. Just make sure you get the US domestic model with the US warranty.

I'm still learning how to use manual controls, and I will try using shutter priority setting at 1/2000! But it still looks amazing the way it is now!

It has several modes; Standard HDV, 24P, 30P, and standard DV. It also has shutter speed selection up to 1/2000! I should try!
