  • did 18V play that show too? i think i was there

  • It was Poison the Well and Skycamefalling; I'm not sure who else played, but it's possible that 18V were there too.

  • i'm french fan and i go at their show in tow weeks, this is a vrey good hardcore music, i love them

  • wow cant belive they are playing Sticks and Stones on here, it was probally really new for them

  • i guess bands that are this good shouldnt evolve? is that what you`re saying? They still kick ass just say them with The Chariot...still bad ass PTDub forever

  • LOL At 9:56 where the dude grabs jeff's arm. But they should perform like this always..

  • I wish i was There!Shame they don't play like that anymore.

  • Man today I'd kill to beat at that show. Too bad when it happened I was like 10..

  • i wish i was there =/

  • poison the well at its best

  • how did you put a 20 minute video?

  • PTW is real metalcore

  • god damn I miss these days. wish he still performed like this; with a passion.

    great video!

  • jan 23 bitches cyall there

  • PTW... awesome!!

  • Jeff is so BIG now.

Not FAT, but like...He'll fuck you up

He looks really young in this video

    AWESOME though

  • That pit is weak, but I fucking love this band way too much.

  • i'm almost positive i was at this show. got my ass handed to me during Nerdy. good times despite the fact that 18 visions played too.

  • the good ole days

  • haha! skinny jeff! ilove this band so much wish they could tour here in the philippines..

their first 3 albums kicks ass.. turn down elliot mah fave :P

  • they are the only hardcore band that survived the hardcore to metal transition

  • i'd rather fuck a nigger than listen to this shit.

  • You must be a nigger to hate this shit. :)

  • then go ahead you fucking racist bitch

  • Yea man, I'd rather fuck a girl than listen to PTW too. Best case scenario, I would fuck her TO Poison the Well.

  • why watch this video then cunt

  • What was the song where the kid at the start says something about " you know how it feel? Do you really think your the only person......."? Help :D

  • The song's called "Grain of Salt." It's from their first album, Distance Only Makes the Heart Grow Fonder, before Jeff was the vocalist. Also, the quote is "I don't know how it feels? You think you're the only person on earth who wakes up every morning wishing they were someone else?" and it's from the 1995 movie "Angus."

  • Yeah man!! :) thanks very much.

  • just watched it for the second time thanks again

  • refused was the shape of this type of music

  • i loved poison the well back in the day

  • As of today, this video has been on here for one year, exactly. Woooo

  • I have always liked 12.23.93

  • Love this video.

  • seriously this is what i see the progression of punk as (put simply): 75'-85'=classic punk, 86'-95'=everything from harcore-punk to ska to plain old mxpx punk, 96'-2000= Blink-182 haha, 2000-04=hardcore (sometimes blended w/metal/screamo) ie PTW/glassjaw, 2005-present= BITCH punk

  • Yeah, I think 2005 was the year it really turned. Early '05 was when MySpace rose to fame, and thus when bands like Underoath and From First to Last (and now bands like Drop Dead, Gorgeous and Bring Me the Horizon) became the new "hardcore." There are hardcore/punk songs dating back to the 90's talking about "scene kids" with tight pants, studded belts and black hair, but it was definitely never as much of an epidemic as it is nowadays.

  • Hell yeah this was when mainstream hardcore was at its finest. PTW has its own bands it owes itself to but shit these days is only about black hair and tight pants its rediculous. know your fucking roots and stop giving the game up (you know who im talking to bitch)!

  • This is increible saw em live a few weeks back touring with versions met chris and jeff best day of my life!!!

  • I'd personally like to say that I have a heart for this band for my lifetime, they saved my life by introducing me to this scene I've become a part of, and I'll never forget their contribution; I don't think anyone will. The little FL band that could. :]

  • It's not hardcore anymore, but it's far from drained, the passion is still present... listen to songs like Letter Thing or The Notches That Create Your Headboard... as far as I can tell, that's about as ferocious and passionate and heart-wrenching as they've ever been. You Will Not Be Welcomed brings me to tears just as easily as Slice Paper Wrists did back in the day... cont.

  • To say their new stuff is drained of life is horrible... I've been listening to PTW for a long long fucking time, they used to play hole-in-the-wall shows in my little town of Vero Beach, FL to 15 kids... they've come so far... to question their art is not only monotony but ignorance.

  • I love how he doesn't hold anything back with his vocals. A lot of bands that try and immitate PTW today lack the raw emotion and the vocalists have a manufactured scream... annoying.

  • I miss these days sooo bad, saw them on this tour and it was just amazing.

  • Saw these guys at my first show which was appropriate as they were the first metalcore/hardcore I've ever heard and immediately was hooked. Show was at Fat Cat in Springfield MA (RIP) I think it was dring this tour as tear from the red was just releasing and no one really heard it yet. I started a chant for Grain of Salt but they didn't have enough time. amazing show though, American Nightmare, From Autumn to Ashes, and a whole bunch more big names.

  • this video is from 1/7/01

  • chris hornbrook is great no one can replace him

  • oh shit did he quit or something

  • No, no. Hornbrook's still in the band. I agree that he's a fairly unique drummer who shouldn't be replaced.

  • He's a amazing drummer that fits them perfectly.

  • i remember this tour is was awsome i got to see them twice in two days and got to party with them....rad dudes.......awsome live show

  • i wish i knew what year this is from. cause they play a song from Tear From The Red in there too. but it seems like this may have been right after Absence Makes The Heart'. i love this album, deffinately in the top 10 of all time. i saw them more than a year ago and they played some new shit which was drained of life. i love everything up till now though.

  • The year's right in the description; January 7th, 2001. :]

  • en france ce groupe est devenu culte ( in france this band is a "monument" for the underground scene )

  • man watching this video made me again realize how great of a band this is. its been years since ive listened to them or seen them live. thanks bro!

  • ive watched this set at least 20 times and it never gets old. this band was so good.

  • This album shits on the new album - some of You Come Before You are good too. Most of these songs are classics and I agree with you his voice is much more gruff as time goes on. Amazing guitar on this album.

  • yeah damn and thanks for the tip i installed the add on and it works great :)

  • where can i download this video?

  • If you have Firefox, there's an add-on you can get that allows you to download videos directly from YouTube. I think it's called "DownloadHelper."

  • Is that Jeff doing vocals? Man he's so skinny compared to the massive superman that lumbered on the "Apathy is a Cold Body" video. He still sounded great, though, as did the rest of the band.

  • Yeah, I had the same reaction when I first saw this video on VHS like 4 years ago in 2003. I saw them live a few nights later and had to check online to see that they hadn't got a new vocalist, because I didn't recognize him at all in person on stage compared to him in this video. His vocals have completely changed since then, too; his screams are like 8 octaves lower now than they were back in '99/'00/'01.

  • Oh yeah. Not to mention his newfound talent for singing. One of the few vocalists I've heard from this genre who can both sing and scream with conviction.

  • Um... He has been able to sing for ages... Jeff just does it more now...

  • its cool like deftones²

  • uhh...thew song isnt a wish for wings that work...its a wish for "things" that work...sick video

  • Nah, it's "A Wish for Wings That Work." That's what it's labeled as on the back of the CD, anyway. The title is taken from the children's book of the same name that came out in the early nineties. Plus, the song has the lyrics "Could this sky open up and accept this tortured soul, but my wings have yet to work, but my wings have yet to work" so I assume that's why they used the title.

  • hmm...i tried downloading it with "wings" but all i got was "things"...o well...either way is kool lol

  • That song is about suicide... Tortured soul refers to suicide being a sin. The sky refers to heaven. Will heaven accept him if he commits suicide.

  • does anyone sum songs from december that they could email to me?

  • You can download them all pretty easily from Soulseek or Limewire; just google those programs and you should be all set.

  • sweet...i just downloaded limeiwre...never heard of soulseek...anyways thanks dude

    =(

  • wow!

    great upload!

  • Most amazing set list in PTW history, don't get me wrong I still like the new stuff, but this definitely is their golden age of "hardcore" I REMEMBER THE DAY, THE SUN WENT OUT!

  • Incredible video! The singer was so fuckin thin! LOL

I agree with SJCustomDrums: that's their fucking golden age!

  • awesome fucking upload, these guys are amazing live

  • the fucking GOLDEN AGE of ptw

  • this CD (the oposit of december) is the best :)
