  • Thank you! Great video!

  • Hello. I'm glad you have been working at your posture. Of course it is impossible for me to say what is happening with your posture as I have never examined you. I do offer a very reasonable 'Posture Analysis' service on my website under 'Best Posture Products' if that is any help to you. I don't advise that you try to do 'self' adjustments. Leave that to your chiropractor so you don't hurt yourself.

  • Hello! Thank you so much for the advice. My posture has improved dramtically from keeping up with good posture and my chiropractor. Lately, I've not been able to afford to go and so I've been stretching my own back. I sit down and force my shoulders back as far as they can go and pull my uper body down to my knees to crack. It's been helping my back straighten out, but now my lower back has been in bad condition and the pain forces me to slump my shoulders. Is it because my lower back isn't used

  • to the pressure from my upper back alligning? I feel numbness at times and it's been so painfu. What should I do for an exercise? I don't have money for a chiropractor anymore in the meantime, but could you give me an educated guess? Or let me know some exercises for lower back pressure? I've had poor posture since I was 14.. now I'm almost 22. Luckily I'm still young and my bones are still devolping and my posture is imporiving, but from my back pains it is hard to keep it up. Thank you!

  • @Xmushau Hi, thanks for your question. It is a very good thing that your bones are likely still developing as you have the best chance to make improvements to your posture. It wouldn't be safe for me to give you specific advice having not examined you myself. Try to get a referral through your doctor so the costs are covered. I do offer a Posture Analysis service under 'Best Posture Products' on the homepage of my website. Let me know how you get on.

  • Thank you for your videos they are really nice

  • I have forward head posture from working at computers all day long, and I was thinking about getting a posture corrector to pull my shoulders back. I have occasional pain in my upper back and was hoping that a posture corrector would help with that as well as my head posture. Would you recommend using something like that at all?

  • @Ketchme17 Well I've never used any with my clients before so I can't advise on how effective they may or may not be. I am all for using real corrections and less inclined to use supports as my view is they may weaken the body as the body comes to rely on artificial means of correction.

  • If the lump is up at the base of the neck how does the towel at the bra line help?

How come the towel isn't placed higher

Also if you have a lump is there any chance of removing it over time?

    thanks

  • @jamesandsab Excellent question. The lump forms as the body lays down more fat to protect the spine that has become more pronounced due to forward head posture. The forward head posture on some, develops due to the excess rounding through the mid back and this is why you use the roll in this region of the body. Over time, (all depending on how severe the poor posture is) if the posture is continually worked on, it is possible to see an improvement in the forward head posture and the hump.

  • @posturevideos

Thank you for the fast response.

What if your back is not overly curved but the forward neck starts more higher (say at the level of the sternum) etc does this mean the towel method here won't work or perhaps could be adapted? (example have towel a little higher)?

    NB

When I do this exercise I feel a tingling "want to straighten" feeling when I stand up it is rather nice. I find the towel much stronger than using the swimming pool tube????

  • @jamesandsab No, best not to move the towel up. If your forward head posture is all to do with your neck you should try my video just for that. Go to the 'categories' on the home page of my website at posturevideos, choose 'forward head posture' and click on the video 'forward head posture correction'.

  • @posturevideos

Yes I have seen this video and I am doing both exercises. At first my head was 10cm away from the wall and now it nearly touches with minimal effort.

The thing is I have straight bank thanks to the towel exercise and got my head back thanks to the forward head posture video BUT my neck is pronounced "U" shape to do this it is like it is coming out of the chest too forward and then curving back to bring the head back. Yours looks straight and I would love to be like that.

  • @jamesandsab Sounds like you should see a health care professional like a chiropractor. If you want me to really analyse your posture then please look under my 'best posture products' on the home page and take a read of my Posture Analysis service. Keep it up! A little and often!!

  • @posturevideos

Thank you I took your advice and saw a local chiropractor (I don't live in your country unfortunately) and he took X-rays and the area where C meets T has moved forward but above this point there is no curve it is a straight line. The combination of the two makes my head look quite forward. Doing this and your other head back, chin tucked in video I have noted an amazing change in just four weeks. Would a neck roll help too?

Do I need X rays for your posture analysis service?

  • @jamesandsab James amazing! So glad you got some help. You don't need x-rays to have me analyse your posture. I will instruct you how to take 4 pics of yourself and these get analysed. If you happen to have copies of your x-rays i'm happy to analyse these also (no charge just send them along with your pics). You can find the service at posturevideos dotcom/best-posture-products/posture-analysis/ Thanks James

  • I really feel this is helping me out these past few weeks I've been doing it! I try do it for 5 mins every night. Thanks!

  • @LeMaeNaDe Hey that is terrific. Thanks for letting me know! Don't forget to join and become a posture pupil at posturevideos dotcom and you'll get my free biweekly posture tip!

  • This is very nice. I thank you. Not too many Doctors in general like to help people on their own time. Many good wishes to you.

  • sure it's posturevideos dotcom (don't think we can actually type the address in the reply)

  • can you post a link to your website ?

  • I have a neck hump and its really annoying me... If I do this excersice will it cure it? And how many times would I have to do this?

  • @VOICESINMYHEAD1 Thanks for the question. If only it was so simply. Of course I don't even know what your posture looks like, your age, your health history or your fitness and lifestyle habits. This all plays an important role. If you want me to assess your posture then please check out the category 'Best Posture Products' of my website and click on 'Posture Analysis.' A little and often when it comes to posture exercise. Daily! I have 'cured' my own forward head posture so it is possible.

  • I tried this and I felt the tension on my neck immediately. I think that it will really cure this problem.

  • @loyalty0500 That's terrific. Go easy and always consult a health professional about new exercise. I love this exercise and do it myself daily for prevention. Let me know how you get on!

  • GREAT video (:

  • Good question. My theory is that the body lays down fat at the base of the neck to protect the spine in forward head posture but as you begin to correct your forward head posture your body won't perceive a 'risk' to the spine any longer and will start to resorb the fat.

  • @posturevideos

Thank you...what you say makes sense.

  • I understand that this stretch, and the forward head stretch, can fix the posture by stretching the muscles,, but how are they "Burning the Fat" on the back of the neck to "remove it"?

  • I've been greatly concerned that I would not be able to correct my slight neck hump. I'm going to give this a try and see where it gets me! Thank you so much for posting this! I really appreciate you taking the time to show this.

    -Joe

  • so do i '

  • You're welcome. Let me know how you get on!!

  • thanks for posting this , i have a hump of fat on my neck , i will try this !
