@popadop5 i know what a slide is fella...ive been playing guitar since i was eleven...id love to know what hes holding over the pickups to make the wailing! cheers anyway man!
@davyhboro It's called an e-bow. It's an electronic device that "bows" the strings using an electromagnetic field. It basically feeds back upon itself but in a more controlled way than through an amp feedback loop. There is a little notch on the bottom that the string sits in and the magnets in the e-bow cause the string to vibrate. The sound is controlled by raising or lowering the e-bow.
@Radioshoes Your a star fella!! proper made up now! ive just looked em up on ebay aswel an there's loads ov em!! gonna drop sum big hints for the missus for christmas : ) ...cheers man!!
I've been a fan since the late 1980s, but I wasn't able to see them for the first time until October 2010 in Chicage. Going into it, I was concerned that maybe I was a decade late in seeing them at their best. I'm an idiot. They were unvelievable. I can't scrounge up enough superlatives to describe the show.
Shame on the one person who disliked this, you have no soul.
This just screams out the emotions inside you. JAMES, you are by far the best band in the world. I'm so glad you are back together again to feed our hearts & minds with your truly wondeful music. Peace, Love & Light to all :)
This is definately one of the best songs of all time, by one of the greatest bands ever ! - It's absolute perfection ! Roll on the 18th December 2010 - JAMES live at the Manchester Evening News Arena !
Just recently saw them again. Pure magic of a concert. This was their second tune in, after a stellar opening I won't spoil for those yet to see. A spiritually-moving concert. Don't miss if you have the chance, you won't regret it.
Just one of the best songs of all time. I sooooooo wish I had been there to witness this experience in person... 10 minutes of sheer fucking awesomeness
James...xxx..The best ever live performance....ever.......Playing at a festy in aberdeen and I aint got tickets....I will sell my soul (no reserve)......
Man this is my favourite james song ever,it remembers me of my holiday in 1992 in benidorm,i was 15 and this was my first cd,(had mother gold in vinal and tape for the walkman lol),didnt think mother gold could be beaten then they done this, god bless james,
always had great difficulty persuading the lassies this was a great song as a 16 year old in 1992. Fuck it, they went with TTF and I went with this superb song :0)
I have to agree. This song has always been my favorite, and by far I believe their best. Seven, as an entire album, in my opinion, reflects James at the pinnacle in their art. While there were glimpses over the years, nothing collectively stood up to this. of course its just a personal opinion:)
Plus the cinematography using an occaisional hand held cams from the crowd angles of the band with rougher edged clarity gives us all a taste of perhaps being there that night...
I so wish I'd been at this gig, looked brilliant. A fantastic song from an amazing album, brings back great memories. I probably love James as much as I love the Smiths. Manchester you have much to be proud, although Tim Booth like me is from Yorkshire.
Saw them at V98,what a band! Tim said to the crowd remember what you've seen when the press slag us,he was spot on NME etc slagged them, when they were amazing, tossers
I am an average musician at best, and their music is very easy to play, but it is so damn good that it actually provides those rare moments in playing an instrument during which you move between hearing the music and feeling the music. I do not want to get nostalgic, but I have always believed that this band was the most under-rated band of the last 25 years. And I'm not even from England, much less Manchester.
out and out my favourite track from this dvd. when they spark it up again after the breakdown with the acoustic business humbles me to my very roots. beautiful barely begins to describe it.
Wow. I'm high.

This song just makes the audience and band float with the music in the air...
The feeling seems captured by the images of the blond haired girl in the crowd swinging her head and dancing to the sounds in the music.
