No, It never mattered on gender but who do you see more of in teh rock catergory? men. For women, most in rock have harsh alto-like voices or they can support their voice very well. Evanescence is metal/rock but also gothic because Amy Lee does give harsh undertones to her singing.

Danger Gang's Waka has a nice singing voice but her screaming lacks power and support. Jyou's singing is dramatic and has a bit of sorrow in it plus her screaming is the shit.

How can she suck? There is no other vk rocker girl to compare her to other then Waka. and in that fight, she wins.

Comparing is something people do to other sometimes without realizing it. I don't think her voice is nails on a chalkboard, she doesn't even have that high of a frequency range XD. To be a rocker girl, you have to have a more harsh voice because harsh voices is what rock needs. Not pretty, melodramatic, pop-like voices.
