damn dude. a torn glute sure doesnt suck. in my opinion, its worst than a back injury since the glute is involved in literally every exercise in powerlifting and assistance work if done right. right now i think i torn mine too, hurts when i flex it or apply pressure to the area or squat even with my own BW or deadlift any weight. I'm guessing you are healed now, how long did it take for you to fully recover and since you injured it once, are you more likely to injure it again?
@SmexyPC I think I healed in 6 weeks, what I found that helped most was active exercises on the glute. I would have a table or person assist me in body weight lunges, I would do the lightest weight on a glute raise machine etc. I would do these exercises along with stretching everyday as opposed to just 'staying off it completely' and I healed much faster. As for re injury, It has not bothered me one bit these past two years and I am squatting above 600 now with no problems!
