I would listen to the Dirty album from Altoona Pennsylvania and travel through sinking valley to Spruce creek past the little juniata river on my way to Spring creek or State College and just burn the tape out. This one of those albums that I'd play on road trips end to end I loved listening to porno for pyros and janes addiction like that also.
this is one of those songs that usually holds nostalgic significance for any one who remembers hearing it when it was realitivly new. when one hears the song, one is whisked away into a sea of memories and finds his or her breath taken. there simply arent enough words in the english language to describe the awesome psychological power of a tune like Theresa's Sound World.
i love it cause it's from VH1's Flipside, because the video reminds me of the night i was spending watching this half hour show many years ago. Dunno why, but this video reminds me of the 60s.
yeah, this is really good. sometimes I think that music has gone to hell and is never coming back. Maybe someday bands like Sonic Youth will become in vogue again and music won't suck anymore.
@subsamadhi What I meant really was that you have to look deep to find good interesting music, and thanks to things like youtube it's quite easy. And you also have to look past all the current so-called indie bands signed to majors these days, making pretend shoe-gaze, and so self-consciously "experimenting" with different instruments. Pop music and real music are two worlds that will never collide again.
@subsamadhi the thing is, maybe it's not so much the music that sucks but the music we choose to listen, globally speaking (pardon my english). And we are so much pushed by images and clips that costs billions (and we all know the people behind all this surely knows what they're doing by exploiting the major art of pushing feelings into you that is music) What I'm trying to say is groups like Sonic Youth may exists still today, but no one will produce them, because it's not market friendly.
@Mathieuismissing I guess I touched a nerve with that comment....Sonic Youth is where they always have been: in the underground making music that is listenable and talented. Maybe it's best that they stay there. Lord knows how many fucking bands over the years who have diminished quality for sales.

I always imagined the video to be Thurston dressed up in an astronaut suit just chillin' in a trashy studio apartment but this works too.
