A few years ago I got in an argument with some people at a big Muppet fan website and they kicked me of it cuz I said they gotta run this old stuff and they said it can't be, as everything has to be perfect with the new material. This is the best and folks are missing it. Thanks for posting for at least we get it. Yeahh
It was from 1979 when disco was at the height of it's popularity. But I first saw the DISCO FROG skit in 1982 not long after the disco craze died out in; America at least.
mariechaton same here i love has the muppetts dance but when the disco from came arpund the corner it would creep me out!! LMAO!! the sad part......it still dores and im 32 lol
people who were scared by this were unconsciously reminded of the way the grey aliens move lol. Seriously alot of people were scared by this one me included. This was the only one that freaked me out but some people really hated the one where Ernie and Bert are in the pyramid.
I am 32, and remember seeing this when i was like 5 or 6, and it caused me to have a bad nightmare of Kermit the frog, chasing me around my house at night and in the dark, while i was all alone. He was moving around all freaky too, like that dance he was doing, and his eyes looked possessed. I worried for the longest time that i was going to have that dream again.
Awesome! I loved this when I was 5 but it sort of freaked me out when the ghostly neon dancing Kermit appears. I remember talking about this skit with one of my classmates at school and she said she would turn all the lights off when this came off so it would be more creepy and cool.
wow, I used to think I was the only one who got freaked out by this as a kid, but after reading all your comments, it's good to know I'm not nuts after all lol. I used to think that ghost frog/animated Kermit would jump out and run at me like in the video lol
My life as I know it will never be the same again, after watching this video. Shake it, don't break it, Dancing Ghost Frog! Kermit's got some MOVES, y'all!
And we used to wonder where the breakdancing movement started....
LOL....no kidding! I had a nightmare a few days after i saw this when i was like 5 or 6 years old. I had a dream that damn disco frog was in my house, doing his little voo doo dance at me, coming to kill me! Jim Henson is nuts!
hehe.. i wasn't as scare of this one as i was with grover the waiter bringing out the giant hamburger. my mom made me leave the room when that skit came on because i would scream and cry. I was SOOO fascinated by the kermit jumping out of the bushes when i was little. I especially loves when he dances away at the end and goes into the bush. I always wanted to go there and dance in the swamp with them!
Isn't the set awesome?! They don't make kids shows like this anymore.
@machinegunangel Hey don't worry about crying over something on SS. I cried when Cookie Monster started eating the Ford F-150 he got as a wish in the Monster's Three Wishes, I think because it looked like a truck my dad had.
now this is sesame st. at its finest!! They can never duplicate anything this great now on the show..It has never been the same since Jim Henson passed
AAAA! Oh, thanks so much for bringing this nightmare back to life! I would turn the TV off when this video came on as a kid, because I knew that scary ghost frog was going to run out at me!
Let's hope they take better care of the masters than do the original cels by CTW animators. I used to study at Sesame Workshop with a friend who worked for Noggin, and was really hurt to see torn, dusty cels in broken frames lying in office corners. That was something I will never forget. They don't respect the old stuff. I love the Children's Television Workshop; but I am saddened by Sesame Workshop. :(

Disco LIVES! I remember I LOVED this, although it was a bit freaky. I wanted to dance with the disco frog when he left for the woods and boogie on down. He made me sad when he left! hehe
that one was totally cute. "eesh, it's the disco frog." I usually get scared over frogs, but Kermit is the only one I loved now and always. thank you for that clip, Bip. :)
I think this, combined with when Kermit got teeth, and when his skeleton was shown, created my series of nightmares about Kermit the Frog when I was little.

I might be crazy, but I think the instrumental part of this song may have been what Mark and Lisa were dancing to on their rollerskates on one of the "Forces" episodes of 3-2-1 Contact. It's been a while so could someone correct me if I'm wrong?
