  • Hey guy. I've been selling for 25 years and I just threw out my outdated selling philosophy out the window. I downloaded your "never cold call again" condensed book and read it until 2am. If it wasn't for you I would've thrown out my "selling" career out the window too.

The problem is that you're not making any money in the interim, while salespeople who are using more intelligent lead-generation systems instead of cold calling are cashing in. Sure, "cold calling works" if you're fine with a slow and long return on your effort. If you want to make real money, there are better ways to get leads.

  • mate this is stupid ! 50*0=0 yes but you cant say that if you make 50calls you get no result because the cghance of that happining are slim. there will be some who would be sold to.

    This video is obviously to get people to my website, sign up, and begin learning the alternative methods to cold calling. If you can't understand that then you are unqualified to work in either sales or marketing.

  • if you contest cold calling as = to zero or entirely ineffective, there must be a better method. However, this video does not provide any compelling alternative to cold calling and in fact, encourages us to "find another way" to gain leads and sales. Your premise is very misleading and unhelpful to all salespeople out there. yes, cold calling may be a myth but only when its considered the best method of sales. not everybody does pathetic telemarketing

  • Your entire premise is false. Your probability of making a sale on a cold call is low, but it is not zero. Probability theory states that if you combine a lot of low probability events, you come up with a reasonably high probability. Therefore, if you make enough cold calls, then you will make some sales. First grade math just won't cut it in this case.

  • @shotgpt The problem with your logic is that you will get VERY FEW sales based on your probabilities. As Jeffrey Gitomer says, cold calling has the lowest percentage results of any prospecting activity, and the only excuse for doing it is if you are absolutely required to by your company.

  • @shotgpt i entirely agree with you. this guy is basically contesting cold calling as entirely ineffective. i think its also a misconception of cold calling as an effective method of sales. its a nobrainer that cold calling is the least desire method, and it may be the last resort for most salespeople. although it really really depends on what kind of sales that is being pursued. If anything, cold calling is the most integral thing to do and any other method of sales is the easy way out.

  • hi i listened to your advice and also listen to others like brian tracy and zig ziglar...i would like to point out you cannot use the multiplication for saying that your called calls will result to zero try selling your car using cold calls for ten bucks and youll sell that in the first few calls

  • On my first day I was given 200 calls to make and although very boring i made 12 appointments which resulted in 4 sales,within a month my ratio had become 30 apts/200, within 6mths this had risen to 120apts/200. the more you do the better you get after 1 year my ratio was 180/200 and didnt have time to do all the apts! so i got someone else to do the c/calling & i went on the apts! People buy from people- Make em laugh and they'll buy,buy and buy. bye

  • Hi, No my point is that cold calling IS worth it because the more you do the better you get, but im talking from my own experience and that it worked extremely well for me,it also depends on the product being sold, I won an award for a ratio of 1 call / 1 apt , and was recorded for training purposes in London, they even picked the numbers from the phone book to call, 9 in all and i got 9 apts! so yes it does work.

  • The point that this person is missing big time is that the numbers game theory is out to make sales people deal with the negatives and do not get negged out.

    No 1 said that if you meet 1000000 people a day you will sell if you have no quality, you will sell if you have quality and your attitude meeting your 100000 customer is as high when you started. it is a motivational method if you know anything about sales.

    For people starting out in most businesses, they have to throw mud against the wall. They take the mud that has stuck and then work smart with that. A mentor can prevent the need to thorw mud and show how to work smart. Although the process will not be fun and there will not be the leverage of momentum since there is no mud on the wall. Working smart from the start works against certain temperaments inhibiting them from using their strengths.
