the 2000 Hyundai Accent that I did actually had a decent interior for a crappy car. It was better than more expensive cars. I bet that car needs an O2 sensor or a catalytic converter.
LOL & thats actually a narrow twisty road. Its pretty much a local shortcut with with no lights to avoid the murderous Florida tolls. But yeah FL roads & Highways are very open
Looks like somebody likes Ford products, you drive a Lincoln, somebody else has a Blue V8 Ford Explorer, and somebody else drvies a White Ford Escape. Plus your ride was also another Ford product. It's funny though I know like 3 other families, one right next door to me, one of my co-workers, and a customer who stops in where I work, and each of them have nothing but Fords. There were numerous times I almost got a Ford, but didn't. Had 4 Mercury's in the past though.
It was actually my dad up front in the Marquis which is his, the mom uses the Explorer, I use my Lincoln. LOL, next door Neighbor has a 2005 Sport Trac & the other has a 2010 Fusion. That 01 Escape V6 actually isnt personal & was delivered to a dealer a few days later which I didnt have a chance to film. Quick little bugger too.
The only thing that killed that car when I drove it new in 05 was the engine. It was such a dog. That, and the door chime was exactly the same as my moms old 1988 Hyundai Excel lol.
@talldude123 As much as I have a grudge against Toyota, the Elantra from this year still makes the same year Corolla look good. You still have to give Hyundai credit for trying, they were still a young company then, just look at how far they've come now.
@2004NissanSentra The 2005 Corolla was so cheap inside. Granted, it had no recalls which is good, but it has sharp plastic pieces, thin plastic, and it was SLOW!!
@talldude123 I know they weren't so great in 05 but the 09 and up corolla is a true shitmobile with really flimsy plastic and no soft touch materials whatsoever, seen quite a few with engine noises already whereas in 05 most just had sludge problems which was easily prevented with synthetic oils
@talldude123 not necessarily, look all the new cars that were redone for 2011 or 2012, they r all leaps and bounds ahead of their predecessors, the new elantra and sonata are best in their class, and ford nissan and chevy all have some outstanding cars coming out within the next year or two
@trollsALWAYSneedmeds Well, Hyundai and Kia have had no major recalls, that's proof, and they IMPROVE over the years, unlke Japcrap that does the opposite over the years.
American cars are just as good as Korean, and both are pretty good these days. The Japanese continue to do what they do best so they are still just as good, but Toyota is really the only one falling behind. Reliability and quality is all pretty good for everyone now but Toyota and Chrysler are still lagging behind everyone
II must add that the build quality of this car doesn't compare to that of a Civic, Sentra, Mazda 3 & etc. Its still a low rent car underneath. Like said the only bright side here was the interior with many soft surfaces.
YEah they probably upgraded the speakers a bit cause I've driven the base model hatch over a year ago once & it didnt sound good at all, tho I dont recall if the interior was of the same quality.
Yeah I need to double check on the base model to see if the interior cheapened up. I was actually surprised as I didn't remember them having lots of soft to the touch surfaces & etc. But I honestly dont like these either way tho.
@Intechdude300 Hyundai was trying during these years but they were still pretty low rent, Civics and Sentras around this age are way better if you want a good cheap car
Not a bad car for the price

Did you enable the 'Loud' feature on the Radio? It makes a big difference on these Hyundais in sound quality!

Totally 4got, I know Hyundai's had that but wasnt sure if this had it as it did sound a bit bassy as is.
Intechdude300 10 months ago
@Intechdude300 Yeah. Some of the newer ones you can turn it on through a menu setting. My '10 Sonata doesnt have it. Im pretty sure this does tho....

This is such a ho-hum car...slow engine, ugly styling, and econo box feel to it. Still beats the Corolla!

trollsALWAYSneedmeds 10 months ago
@trollsALWAYSneedmeds Korean vehicles have proven themselves to be better than japanese cars. Why do they have the term "jap-crap"?
