@S3234953 Not long. Tsunamis hit very quickly. Even so, when you live on an island, there's not exactly anywhere to hide and flee to. Seeking really high ground is the only thing to do.
It's so crazy that this could easily happen on the West Coast of North America. Neither Canada nor the United States is as well-prepared for a tsunami as Japan was, and look what happened there... I shudder to think of the extent of the damage in a North American context
I remember watching a video like this is school when the tsunami had just hit :/ a school of about 1000 were literally sat there in silence. I feel so sorry for everyone caught up in all that, it was such a horrible, horrible disaster.
show repect japan is suffering because of this and u say go suck a fat one how bout you go suck a big fat one and if u jinks like that. It will happen to u soo give respect! got damn u guys are rude
The music helps to illustrate how truly devastating this disaster was. My thoughts will remain with Japan always. I hope Japan and the world never experiences something this terrible ever again. 三月十一日は本当に酷くて、悲しいでした。また全然がありませんかなあ。私は日本に祈っています。頑張って下さい。
This happened on my 13th birthday. There was no celebration. No cupcakes, no gifts, and no congrats. Just prayer. And to this day I am thankful that people could recognized how horrific this was.
I want to help these people! I've prayed to God, donated money, even tried to spread awareness about the catastrophic level 7 radiation disbursement at my university which is still taking place right now as I type. It just doesn't feel Like enough. My heart is bleeding for these people as well as for the people in Haiti. The News doesn't even talk about the plight these countries are going through anymore. It's outrageous for us to allow these folks to die out in silence. They must be heard.
It reminds me again how small and insignificant we all are individually. Very humbling. My heart goes out to Japan and I have to say I admire your strength in the face of this tragedy and hope for your complete recovery in time. We in America should take some lessons from the Japanese I believe. Over and over my largest observation has been the behavior of the Japanese as a whole people.Calm in the face of the storm. Good to eachother. Lessons we all should take to heart.
The flood destroyed Japanese farms, homes, and industries. I've watched this one clip on the news... me and my family were shocked. It feels horrifying being in a world like this...
I dont know why im watching this before bed. I remember watching it on TV when it happened. I have never seen such horror in my life. My heart really truly goes out to those people. Its so scary, the thought you could be rocking your baby and all of a sudden a huge natural disaster happens. The world is made up of mostly water, imagine what would happen if a earthquake shook the earth so hard and shook all the way down to the core, it would be a huge tsunami everywhere. correct me if im wrong.
@RsKoolKoolAid get a grip you tramp you got owend couse your as dumb as a piece of shit get some freinds you little fat assed twat how about dipping you in freezing muddy water dont take the piss get some f**kin freinds you one legged basterd.
I remember getting ready for work that morning watching Fox News when the breaking news came on. Watching the footage, it just didn't seem real, like there was a disconnect from reality. The thing was, from the ariel footage, it dawned on me, I can't see them but I am watching people die. Such a tragedy. May God be with wach one of the families.
I was off work that day and I slept till noon. I got up at 11.59am and turned on the news and saw this.
I love in the East side of Washington State...seeing all of these clips made me think...Japan HAD one of the best Tsunami defense systems in the world. Yet this happened. If this happened of the Oregon coast....the coast would be toast!
It is not Gods fault. Nature is a huge force and by man abusing this earth these events happen. testing nuclear bombs in the ground and sky, messing with Nature, pollution etc
i remember i woke up that day and saw this just as soon as i turned the tv on...it was a creepy way to wake up,just by watching it i felt kinda sick...can't even imagine what those poor people went through.
As an American... I hope that God was with you at that time. I hope that you survived the insurmountable deastation that this Tsunami invoked on your country. We love you. We pray for you. We can only pray that God takes care of alll of your needs.
What a useless sentiment. If you really think your God exists and cares at all, one must question why it would allow things like the above to begin with. Why should an entity which knows destruction is coming, has the power to stop it easily, then go after the fact and 'comfort' or 'protect' people? If your God did anything at all then this never would've happened. As the saying goes... "nothing fails like Prayer."
Man. We - This generation are doing this to ourselves by way of global warming as a result for our need/Greed. This must have been horrific and its chilling to watch. I wouldnt wish this kind of death on anyone. People of the 21st century will all eventually have this happen to them and their nations/country horrible to say but the truth does hurt. Thoughts go out to all in japan who had to go through this ordeal.
4:22 Oh My God.... wow, you really get a better perspective of high those swells are. God Bless them. I can't imagine what it's like trying to outrun something like that. Or even seeing something like that.
@Dorisequador what is your problem? we're all parents, children, partners and friends on this earth, and its unfortunate when other humans have to live through, or die, in such horrific events. if you don't want to be a decent person, that's your choice, but at least keep your mouth shut out of respect for human life and dignity.
@Dorisequador I did tell you something, didn't curse either. But I fail to see your logic how every single japanese deserved to suffer. They didn't, they're not all evil. I'm assuming you're upset in regards to Pearl Harbor. Governments can do horrible things that cause atrocities on both sides, and pit us against one another. Instead of blaming an entire country, educate yourself on the dynamics of war and the fact that current generations lost during the tsunami had no influence.
@TheKylegrell There will always be good people against what wrong a country does.. Citezens I mean .. whom most in japan are not informed properly.
Attacking armies and wanting to rule the world and accepting your armies victimizing China for years is unacceptable and the white american and Canadien races tried to stop it.
When a hole country goes to war they know it and fight.
Japan has two sides to them very intelligent inventors and copiers and horrible attackers with no morals.

The day I heard about the Indonesian Tsunami...I know in my heart over 100,000 died in my heart instantly.
When I saw on the news that Japan was hit by an Tsunami, I knew immediately at least 20,000 were killed.
Both times my heart cried.
This will happen again...history has show this occurring repeatedly to past civilizations.
My ALL who perished RIP. May the living learn something from this!
