@therealmusician2112 They are just bells. You can get zildjian ones under the name 'Zil Bel's' They are nice. Check Gavin Harrison's set of homemade bells. Used in the right place they sound absoulutely delightful!
@heinzie5 Erm, not really. Stacked cymbals have been around for ages. They've got smaller over the years but Terry Bozzio is probably the first major guy to stack chinas with hihat cymbals etc inside to give a short sharp burst of white noise with very little sustain. Dave Weckl has had a large china/ride stack for years. Marketing-wise Mike Portnoy's Stax cymbals are probably the best known. He's probably the one who brought small stacked cymbals to the attention of many. Benny is great though!
@heinzie5 Indeed it's all an evolution thing. Meinl are coming out with some good stuff. Check out watch?v=T_eBSmVvTG4. Johnny Rabb can be a little cheesy and I don't usually 'do' drum and bass but the sound he gets out of those Drumbals is amazing. At times he sounds like a one man Drum Corps Line. His take on the gravity blast is also interesting. Take care !
Fantastico!
which one is chocolate and which one is cheese? ;) because i love chocolate. haha!!! gavin harrison is my chocolate... wait... it sounds so... umm... gay... im going now! haha!!!
@paolobeat Yes you can, why not? You CAN do anything. They are both musicians that play instruments from the "percussion" group/section. Some percussionists are drummers. And all drummers are percussionists. I'm both. It works just like the whole "is a rectangle a square" deal.
EVERYBODY'S A GOD DAMN COPYCAT!!!! WHY??? JUST BECAUSE YOU'RE NOWHERE NEAR GAVIN HARRISON DOESn'T GIVE YOU THE RIGHT!!!!

what are the cymbals that look like there stacked?
the guy has two of them.
they sound really badass, sooooo trashy.
rockhard699 2 years ago
trash hat, a small upsidown china and a smaller splash on top, the concept was kind of invented by benny greb and made by meinl
