is it really possible for such a creature to get so big. And isn't it impossible for emperor sea strider to exist on a any planet more than 1/6 x earth gravity
to anyone who says this is unrealistic, there has been life as large as this on earth too, moving and non-moving. Giant land dinosaurs, blue whale, huge underwater dinosaurs, plants.
It's not unrealistic because there's been large creatures on Earth. Almost everything has a reason for turning out the way they did on Darwin IV. Gravity is a lot less potent on the planet, and the creatures are far less dense than on Earth. This allows such immense sizes in the ecosystem.
That thing looks to big to be bi-pedal, it's not really centered, with a lot of it's mass in the head. this thing would not be able to walk properly and even in the video you can see it has a wobble to it, it could never walk even if the planet has a lower force of gravity.
retard video! Alliens should look like humans, because if another planet had conditions like Earth's earlier, it would stat over again from bacterias to dinosaurs, to their extinction, and to first ancient monkeys.....Don't ya agree...
P.S. I watched this video, when i was little and i was so scared my bed was full of shit...:P
Just a thought.. what if life as we know it is different from one planet to another? what if they breath nitrogen or any other gas and oxygen for them is toxic.. just like early life.. oxygen for them is toxic.. they breath in carbon dioxide... what if aliens breath different gases? or what if they don't need water to survive or what if water for them is toxic? What if another alien lifeform saw our planet and they thought its inhabitable due to water? We should open our minds to possibilities..
Their hypothesis is flawed, no creature can evolve to have this sort of shape and adaptation, considering it's size, for many reasons. one reason is that it's shape is all wrong, the bigger a creature becomes, the skinnier it gets, we see this in many of the larger sauropods such as diplodicus, and amphicelious. second, we do not see any complex lifeforms on earth absorbing nutrients from the soil other that plants, so what makes them think that we'd see that on other planets?
What makes you think evolution on other planets resemble anything of what we see on Earth?
You can't draw profound conclusions after seeing life evolve on only one planet. It's like stating that every dog has spots after seeing a dalmatian. Who knows what evolutional craziness other biospheres might come up with?
This is from a book by an artist who knows a lot about evolution named Wayne Douglas Barlowe. I think it was Discovery who adapted his book into a TV special because his ideas for life on another world were severely different than our own life and made evolutionary sense.
Why we pay NASA to do whatever they want is the wrong question..... the right question is WHY does NASA, with some of the smartest scientists in the world, feel like this was a good example to use... most of NASA's work is top secret.... so who knows
This is not real of course... but to think that someone can actually come up with this is already something and besides Wayne Barlowe's the best .. he did design works for some of the great fantasy films that we have today.
Apollo found one of these huge beasts petrified on Earth's moon from an earlier age when there was atmosphere. It was being used as a moonwalker of sorts. Much like an elephant on Earth, the ride along equipment is still strapped to its back. You can see the Apollo 17 Dinosaur find by You Tube searching Schmitt and Cernan at Station 6". (Who is wrong by saying it is just a rock.) Or Apollo video at "ALIEN SPACESHIP ON THE MOON flyover bef. landing 3" Links posted at the blue more info icon.
@gonerfishing Do you really believe that?, That the rock is an ancient fossil? dont make me laugh. And the moon has never had an atmosphere, becouse obviously it cant due to the low mass and the low gravity
@squallo9 Yes I do believe this fact. The moon had a thin Earth like atmosphere once with life there and still has trace atmosphere today. They have now found much water in the soil also. Ask Richard C. Hoagland or John Lear. I would say they know more then both of us. Scientists once said, "The world was flat." Do not believe all they feed you in school and online. Look at the evidence as per more recent signs and wonders of real Truth...
@gonerfishing Evidence? What evidence? a rock with a strange form is an evidence? The presence of water and oxygen dont mean that there is live. Those elements are very common in universe and in our solar system and are not always associated with life. The presence of water in the moon is due to its close formation to us and comets colissions. The trace of atmosphere present today in the moon doesnt indicate an habitable past. They are there becouse of phenomenons like outgassing and sputtering.
@gonerfishing There are many people relacionated with science that postulates a lot of ludicrous ideas. For example, some of them say that there is a secret quantum teleporter between earth and mars, which is obviously ridiculous. The fact that someone is a scientific doesnt mean that all that he says is true. The scientific community is who try to establish a general idea about all these things. People with minimun knowledge about this matter will find your theories ridiculous
@RoscoesRiffs I think they did, theres these little creatures that live in the ground that pop up and spear stuff with their razor sharp bodies or something. I saw this a long time ago, so my memory's a little fuzzy, but i do remember they were able to bring one of these down.

Yes, you would be. It takes 42 years to get to the Darwin system, another 4 years to beam data back to the Earth. You do the maths. :)
However, we will not be able to start a real interstellar mission that soon, I think such a mission as this is most likely to be expected around 2035-2040. Also, Darwin IV is a fictional planet 4 light years away, the nearest system with confirmed planets is 10 light years away, it would obviously take longer to get there.
It is! I found an ancient fossil picture of one on the moon via Apollo 17. Frozen from eons ago during an ancient time when there was a thin atmosphere. I think that is why NASA has leaked out this critter's basic form in a fictional animated movie so they can later be correct? Write me for free pictures? My e-mail is posted under the "more info" icon on this page.
Animals can't live on moons, there is no atmosphere, and because it is another celestial body, there are probably alien looking rocks. The moon once had atmosphere. Even if you believe it came from Earth(wrong) it carried some atmosphere. Outgasing as it cooled made atmosphere. Apollo 8 took pictures of outgasing. Some say it is a vent stack from a subsurface hidden alien industrial complex. Our moon is artificial. It is a massive craft created by our creator to be the light of night, induce microbial food chain life by tidal influences,& carry developed life to other Earth like planets. We fell & thus lost the keys to the car.
@gonerfishing The moon never had atmosphere. It's far too small to hold on to any gas because it has to compete with both earth's gravity and stellar winds.
@celophysis5454545 dude its an alien they can live in space if they want.and no one ver said it was on the moon.of course this is fake but still aliens dont have to look like anythin on earth or have earth qualities. this dosnt even look like the moon
if anyone has any questions about these animals or this planet or wat this abaout just message me. i reserched this and i hav the dvd so i know wat im talking about
this is a planet that nasa are sening 3 probes like these to explore. the journey will take 42 yeas and they will take off in 2014 if everything goes to plan. there is water as well as oxygen on this planet. this is just an animation but these video showes the creatures that could live on this planet. they might only find microbiological life like bacterica and maybe not even that. these are just educational guesses.
This show is a "fictional" animal that could be on another planet. That said , I have found frozen/petrified remains like this animal on Earths moon which once had atmosphere before meteoric bombardment dissipated most lunar gases. this is from amovie called alien planet. there is a planet out there iwht water and oxigen on the planet. this is a videos of wat animals could posibly live there. in 2014 they are sending 3 probs to explore the planet. the jorney will take 42 years even though it is going 20% the speed of light. then when they get there every message of videos of animals that may live there will take 4 years to ge to earth. htey may only find small organisms like bacteria and microorganisms. but it is posible

yes we have. there sending 3 probes to look 4 life. they may only find micro animals like germs or bacteria. but there is water, oxygen, plants and tree like plants. so they may find things. read my coment thats above yours
actually all the creatures and the scenario in this mini-series were dreamed up by a painter. The panel of biologists and astro-whatevers are just there to give the impression that there's more science to it than there is. Still an awesome show
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I saw this show and it scared the hell out of me. Not like a horror movie more like I can't believe their doing that. How irresponsible.I mean the aliens are intelligent but primitive. Havent we done enough damage with primitive cultures on our own planet.
i saw this on t.v there r some wierder creatures but likley not going to happen when they say it will and to ruin it the 2 bots die and the exploration is unseccesful 2 giant something sapiens kill the robots...:)
The term is hypothetical, not fake. When they say hypothetical, it means that it is possible, however unlikely, that there is a creature similar to that shown somewhere in the universe.
Nope. This is just a "What if?" video made by NASA. They are just is getting us ready for some finds that may be upcoming in the news. Most of this big stuff is frozen on Iapetus, Mars, and of course Earth. Quite dead like our dinosaurs. Pliosaur was just found in Norway, is thought to have measured 50 feet long. Pliosaur's remains are located 800 miles from our planets North Pole.
Imagine building a house on one of these by accident.

so crazy, the possibilities :)
scienceminded 3 years ago
actually all the creatures and the scenario in this mini-series were dreamed up by a painter. The panel of biologists and astro-whatevers are just there to give the impression that there's more science to it than there is. Still an awesome show

is this real??
kirastrikedestiny 3 years ago
Nope, just warming us up to the idea of life on other planets... I think they have found stuff on Mars and even our own Moon.
gonerfishing 3 years ago
It's not by NASA it's by the artist Douglas Wayne Barlowe. Lrn2accurately give credit.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
I saw this show and it scared the hell out of me. Not like a horror movie more like I can't believe their doing that. How irresponsible.I mean the aliens are intelligent but primitive. Havent we done enough damage with primitive cultures on our own planet.

How big is this thing?
like how many times bigger than a car
aviater12345 3 years ago
Those are about 20 ft. high trees on its back. I would say about one hundred times the size of a large car by volume.
gonerfishing 3 years ago

My favorite fake animal reminds me of a turtle
EKmion 3 years ago
The term is hypothetical, not fake. When they say hypothetical, it means that it is possible, however unlikely, that there is a creature similar to that shown somewhere in the universe.

Second largest? Was there something bigger? It's been so long since I watched this, I need to buy the DVD.

.................. is this actually real!?!?!?@
noobz4lifez 3 years ago
