Tim was my English 3 student in the online school for which I teach. He is a very thoughtful young man. He is extremely intelligent as well as talented. I am very pleased to see him "in person".

YEAH TIM ZHANG! dude, he's awesome, what are you saying? he's not the one that gave the titles to himself, not that i disagree with whoever did. he's talented, alright? and he works really hard, he's dedicated.. who are you to even comment on the standard with which he plays?

so what if his movement makes you dizzy? just admit that he has talent. maybe he's just used to playing like that, and it helps him to play well. you dont' need eyes to listen to music, you use your ears! if it makes you dizzy just don't look!

His bodily movements are very natural, and suits his personality. If you ever had the chance to sit next to him during a concert performances, he will sway his bodily according to the rhythm of music.
Tim Zhang is probably among one of the few young pianist that can produce gracefully sounds....

jan is awesome!!!!!!!!! he is really talented...and hv u ever even heard him play?? he is really young and he can play such virtuosic pieces. and its jan lisieki. btw, why are u so mean. just because he may have ruined this piece doesnt mean you would shoot him. tim is also really talented. what would u say if he knew this was u and u guys actually met??

jan sucks. he is stupid. his dumb blonde hair reminds me of someone from america's next top model. jan loses all the notes. and yes, i would shoot him, because he ruined a beautiful piece, which was a classic.

Dont worry about Tim. He has his public relation machine all over the place. They declare him as The best young pianist in Canada The Shining Star in Canada Going to replace Lan Lan Fifteen years old Prodigy . With so many titles add on him. At least he should play with some standard. The ways he play doesnt match these titles he declare.

I agree.
The playing is very good, but the moving looks fake, contrived and more than a little bit silly. It is actually embarasing to watch. It is VERY distracting. Completely takes the focus off of the music which is a major disservice to the music. Not trying to be mean at all. But when you post videos on a public forum, you are going to get honest replies.
Good playing, absolutely ridiculous bodily movements.
Makes me not want to watch any more of these videos.

This is very good playing technically, but the constant swaying back and forth and in circles makes me dizzy and really detracts from the otherwise good performance. One of the greatest pianists of the 20th century, Rachmaninoff, barely moved at all. This proves that it is not necessary to move so much to play expressively. I can't watch this. It makes me dizzy and makes me feel as though I am going to vomit.
