  • I don't have a friend who has any of this stuff, im totally new to PS2 modding, how can i do this? im confused

  • @toshua123 Best is you buy a Swap Magic Disc and you need to check that it says somewhere in the description that it can load programms of the USB.

  • I already have a modded ps2 slim.. I still want to install sms media player.. how can i do that?

  • @recyclebin32 You should have some way to start up an ELF. Just put the SMS media player on a USB stick and start it up from there.

  • HAHAHA I Love your accent! you sound like this wrestler named Santino Marella

  • hey :D this tutorial is great :) but i want to know...i got kingdom hearts 2 FM+ which is a japanesse game...but im using a PAL console (PHAT + SLIM) will the JAP game work ?

  • thank you so mutch

  • Mod Chips won't degrade the laser in your system any faster than using FMCB. It's the burned discs that are hard on it. If you use pressed imports or high quality blank discs you will be fine.

  • You are right that burned discs are generally hard on the PS2 system, but the modchip really puts more pressure on the system and in some cases also on the lens. The addicional stress for the system may be minimal but still it leads to early death.

To the Discs, the PS2 normally just takes a special kind of discs. May it be a specific label or the difference between DVD-R and DVD+R. That differences between every version of every region.

  • Those problems with the chip where more prevelant in older chips. Modern chips really shouldn't caused too much stressed. I have 2 or 3 backups and a bunch or imports I play on my PS2 slim and have had absolutely no problems on it. The few backups I have were burned very slowly on high quality media(verbatim dvd-r's). If you use high quality blank discs, or original pressed imports, your ps2 laser should last a long time.

  • Finally somebody who knows what they are talking about. In the end not all have the money for the newer Chips and High quality blank discs.

  • verbatims go on sale every month at best buy.... $12.99 for 50... and you can get a modbo 4 off deal extreme for $4.92... both are good.

  • Okay man, as you say. I have luck if I can afford the Cheapass ones and not even thinking of buying a modchip.(Here it costs more as a used PS2) This is a free method and when I make the better version of this video I am gonna say it differently. Okay with you?

  • haha ya just trying to inform... it was a great video tho... good job :D

  • dont worry, I got a bit carried away

  • Good Explanation, man

  • good guide man, good explanation and you skipped to the important parts without alot of talking. i also liked your honesty because i hate videos that say this method is free when it really is not. cause like you said, you need a modchip, swap magic, or a cheat device like gameshark to get the mc exploit working

  • thank you sooooo much, I always knew there was a smarter way then soldering a mod chip to the mobo

  • its actually so stupid when i paid for it they didnt told me anything.

  • Thats the prob with secoundhand ware. Dont worry, happens to many people.

  • hi , i got it unlocked and downloaded games like from torrent and burned them.i got it unlocked like in 2006 and sold my ps2 to some (now)guy and it doesent boot like its only black screen , is the ps2 fucked up and could i fix it?????????thanks

  • As said in the video, modchips and swapdisc damage the PS2 system and cause an early death. There is no way to fix this problem unless you let somebody remove the chip and see if the original PS2 Bios starts up.

  • btw nice vid

after i install the mod to mc

can i use the mc to other ps2?

  • I am 22 Years old.

As explained in the tutorial. Choose "Multiversion" Install to use the MC on any PS2. Normal Install makes it work for only your version of the PS2.

  • what age r u?

  • Good video dude, when some one reads the instructions it sounds like a lot of work, but with a video like this anyone can do it.
