I was 13 years old when I got 'Liquidizer', that album and 'Doubt' still get played very often in my home and are both appreciated and loved now as much as they were all those years ago.
so glad i had this to listen to as a tween.I feel bad for kids nowadays.they are trained to have bad taste.with the exception of a few old souls, who probably hide it from their friends.music isn't what it used to be.my friend's 12 year old claims that black and yellow is the best song ever.nough said.
while "Right Here Right Now" was getting all the radio & airplay, this song was getting a lot of play on my crappy double deck tape player late nights while i played Nintendo when i should've been doing homework ;-) I never get tired of this song!!
Ha h I know what they were doing making this video, they were probably tripping their nuts off. I lknow I was when I was watchin' it back in the day!
@lxixlxixlxix a High gloss video would have never have found favour with this Group, because they were not that kind of flashy video Band.
Even though it was very cheaply made, the facts you had one of their best singles with images over them floating over famous world land marks;meant this very cheap video stayed in peoples memories for decades.
Because of it's visual style,it is in fact oneof the most unique Visual Music Videos of the 1990's.
@pixieswan yeah I admit I did. I listened to Jesus Jones, EMF, wore Vision Street Wear and watched 90210 and thought I was the shit. Oh yeah this song is also in the film Freejack.
I used to absolutely love everything they ever did, I only started looking for this stuff because me and my girlfriend, who I was at school with at the time, were talking about this just the other day.
@pfive Indeed! For some reason, that part reminds me of this HORRIBLE (but very funny) Japanese TV prank where these public toilets all of a sudden thrust up into the air, letting EVERYONE see these men quite exposed (they were crapping, so EVERYTHING is exposed).
Lordy I am old enough to remember the original release. I rented the tape, magnetic strips of plasticy stuff to you youngsters :), from my local library. Okay someone fetch my zimmer frame.
This brings back some very pleasant memories. Ah my misspent youth.
This song could pass for a long lost Beatles composition (I believe that the drum lead-in here is a sample of the drum lead-in to "Birthday"!)
I miss those very cool stage & video moves from 90's bands too! still looks cool (somewhat) after 20 years. Much cooler than the moves the bands have today.
@TheUWF SOME of the later stuff was/is good, but that whole "AutoTune" thing is bizarre - it lets almost ANYONE sound good in the recording studio, and it is used far too often to mask what would be rather mediocre voices...
@shmuli9 auto tune is just a cheap way for people like lady CACA to cheat. SHE uses that stuff live all the time. it's just sent through the sound board. grammys, concerts, etc. all of these disney bozos use it.
I should use it just to make a song about all of those losers. like do a really nice voice and then a shit one mocking them. haha
@TheUWF That would hilarious - I hope people would inderstand it would be a parody - it seems a lot of peope don't even understand the concept. A few years ago, someone actually wrote to Miss Manners that they "were offended when people replied 'nice to comments like 'I slipped and skiined my knee'", when "nice" meant obviously exactly the opposite.
I forgot how much i used to love jesus jones, its at least 17 years since ive even thought about them, then one day some synapse fired in my brain for no apparent reason, and here i am nostalging. Fuck im getting old.
@dragonflyboy100 yeah keeping opinions the same for 20 years is very wise. if it changes due to new music tastes coming in (mainstream crap again and again), then your thoughts arent very strong. and your feelings have a low price on them.but urs obv cost alot more
I totally agree with RogerHoward. Also, this is an awesome song. This group, (in my opinion) didn't get the publicity that they deserved. They are an awesome band.
This may look like a cheaply made promo video, but nobody can deny that it is one of the most eyes catching videos to come out of the whole 1990's period.
