Actually, this video is only just ok. I really don't like Colin Farrell as the great Alexander! Jared Leto works as Hephaistion. And the scenes shown here are good enough to convey an important part of the story of Alexander and his "great friend." But the video just barely workks for me.
Someday Amazon may have the Making Of Alexander, the book, relating all the actor's recollections of the filming. It must be an incredible tale, as this was an incredible film. Much better than Richard Burton's Alexander of the 50's. I still have my 60 year old copy of Plutarch's Lives of The Noble Greeks. I have all 3 versions of Stone's Alexander, and I think every frame shot is in that Final Cut. I am foremost an admirer of all things Greek, and immortal Alexander the most!

It completely downplays the relationship between Alexander and Hephaistion by removing many scenes. It cuts portions of the balcony scene in Babylon as well as Hephaistion's visible facial dismay when Alexander kisses Bagoas in India....

The world would be different if Hephaestion wouldnt die(poisoned or from illness), Pausanias was executed and there was noone to who could take charge after alexanders death. As if the gods plotted and killed all of the caple generals and left greece with idiots ruling it(Ptolemy, Kassander)

I wasn't saying that EVERYONE had homo relationships, but you can't just ignore the fact that most of the literature survived from Ancient Greece talks about "paiderastia" as something normal. In "Iliad", Achilles is in love with Patroclus. In "Philoctetes" by Sophocles it is said: "Patroclus, Achilles's most beloved one".

well I can say that Alexander and Heapaistion were so good friends, but it is easy to misunderstand your comment. When Something went beyond Friendship...thats easy to think it was love like, girl/boyfriend.
When one finds instances in historical texts where it is said that Alexander was "ruled by Hephaestion's thighs" and they repeatedly liken themselves to Achilles and Patroclus - who, as is widely accepted, were lovers - it isn't difficult to draw the conclusion that Alexander and Hephaestion were the same.
I am not saying that they definitely are, without a doubt, but again, to deny the possibility entirely doesn't make any sense.

The world would be different if Hephaestion wouldnt die(poisoned or from illness), Pausanias was executed and there was noone to who could take charge after alexanders death. As if the gods plotted and killed all of the caple generals and left greece with idiots ruling it(Ptolemy, Kassander)

Ok, according to history records and historical facts...yes, Ancient Greeks had sex with men because they though the "perfect love" was between two men. Women were just needed for reproduction.
And, women had homosexual relationships as well: the greek poet Safo lived all her life in Lesbos islan, and was the first lesbian of history.

In ancient Greece women were nothing: they just married, then looked after house and children. Of course there were het love stories, many husbands loved their wives and so on, but marriages were not because of love.
It was normal for men to fall in love with young boys, and you can read it in Plato's "Symposium" as well as in some poems.
I study ancient Greek, I translate these things at school.

I wasn't saying that EVERYONE had homo relationships, but you can't just ignore the fact that most of the literature survived from Ancient Greece talks about "paiderastia" as something normal. In "Iliad", Achilles is in love with Patroclus. In "Philoctetes" by Sophocles it is said: "Patroclus, Achilles's most beloved one".
You can read about being in love with boys in poems by Straton, Anacreon, Asclepiades, Theognis of Megara...do u want me to continue?

But according to history, Hephaistion had Gold and short curly hair just like Alexander. They both looked alike except that Hephaistion was taller than Alexander.
Alexander was only 5ft. 3 inches in height ~

Why ask again for evidence, I've given you some (read above), and there are places where you see for yourself, I am too busy to take you by the hand and even if I did, you could never be sure that any evidence I showed you was completely valid. Even if I could for sure tell you that Ptolemy himself walked into the tent and saw Alex and Hephaistion kissing, there could still be another side to the story that did not involve romance.

you're right,it was normal for men to have a male lover,expected even; but aside from when they were out on campaigns they usually stopped having sex when they reached a specific age (and became men) and/or married.Of course it was viewed as perfectly normal to still take boys (as opposite to men) as lovers.
but most historians assume that they stayed lovers until Hephaistion died, which wasn't all that normal and was surely something some people criticized their king for = love

When one finds instances in historical texts where it is said that Alexander was "ruled by Hephaestion's thighs" and they repeatedly liken themselves to Achilles and Patroclus - who, as is widely accepted, were lovers - it isn't difficult to draw the conclusion that Alexander and Hephaestion were the same.
I am not saying that they definitely are, without a doubt, but again, to deny the possibility entirely doesn't make any sense.
