  • Notorious B.I.G. is probably the most horrifying stand in the whole series. the heroes CAN'T destroy it. all they can do is dump it in the sea, and it's mentioned every now and then that ships near where they dumped it disappear.

Hopefully it was erased from existance after part 6.

  • @Chernobog2 well it takes the owner's life to activate it, huge cost brings huge power

  • @Chernobog2 That gave me a horrifying image... What if it was able to keep up with Made in Heaven? D:

  • @RRRadish Notorious B.I.G.'s speed is "infinite" so yeah, it can most likely keep up with Made in Heaven, maybe even defeat it

  • @Chernobog2 Even Speedwagon is afraid!

  • Alright Spice Girl

  • You can mess with the Spice Girls. But you can't mess with Spice Girl.

  • Damn it! I really wanted to see Gio Gio's Bizarre Adventure come to America!!!

  • whats those things they fight with?

  • @dude10131 They're called "Stands". They're essentially psychic powers in a physical form. The author didn't want to draw psychic abilities as generic special effects and stuff so he came up with Stands.

  • @ultimatechakralives And what about the same named female singer (the best singer+pretty) 'JoJo'.

  • @Souravstar007: Actually, JoJo is a reference to The Beatles' "Get Back".

  • @Souravstar007 She wasn't born when JoJo started. :P

  • I hate the fact they cut the scene here when she got Spice Girl

  • Thank god for Trish and her boobs. Part 5 would have been such a sausage fest without her.

  • @EvilRyuGuy At least Narancia was there. :P

  • No... actually the names related to music appeared since the beggining of the manga.

JoJo is named after the lyrics of Get Back from the Beatles, Dio is a reference to Ronnie James Dio (RIP), Speedwagon is the name of a band.

In the 3rd arc he decided to name stands according to tarot cards, egyptian gods and also music. (Vanilla Ice's stand "Cream" is not only a joke name, Cream was the name of band where Eric Clapton played)

Then he used more music names and also names of fashion designers.

  • Using Notorious BIG as a name in JJBA is nothing surprising, especially in comparison with Vanilla Ice from the 3rd series.

  • Hmm, she flashes her underwear everytime she falls, fan service? nah couldn't possibly be that.

  • What the hell kind of a stand-name is "Notorius Big"?

  • Just another musical artist I guess. I love the stand names in this story.

  • @Sorantheman Well, it does attain a rather large mass and a large amount of infamy by the end of the arc it seems.

  • Her stand is Spice Girl

  • @iSeenthatB4 WANNABEEEEEEEEE!

  • Because some people have different tastes to you.

  • everyone has their own tastes

  • WTF you cant say that well you can but not in peoples face

  • 0:09

    PANTSU MARU MIE!!!

  • Ahem, WANNABEEEEEE.

  • wait what there's seriously a character named notorious BIG in Jojo

  • Not a character, but a self-moving and intelligent stand.

  • not intelligent at all. BIG is an auto-stand that activate after it's master has been killed and attack on instinct the fastest moving thing it can detect.

  • Many characters and special abilities (called "stands") in Jojo are music references. It's creator is really into western music.

  • yeah that's why it wasn't released in the west

  • Yep. You know how Hirohiko Araki loves music. ^^

  • trish's stand is called spice girl and her battle cry is "WANNABEEEE" haha

  • oh god @_@

  • There's a character named Vanilla Ice in JoJo.

  • xD Yeah I know. Odd names, but I like the 2D fighter more than this though.

  • Yes and hes invincible

  • I played a preview copy of a Jo Jo game for PS2 many years ago and LOVED it!

It looked just like this one, but I thought it was translated into English. I know the one I played was cancelled in the US and PAL territories - was there an English language version of a Gio Gio game ever released? It's the only thing keeping from importing it.

  • It was canceled. You will have to import.

  • WRYYYYYYYY

  • WaaaNaaaBeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!

  • There not really kids...well Giorno is only 15, but there a mafia group on a mission to deliver Trish(the girl in this video) to her father, the boss of the mafia group that they are trying to conquer "Passione." Also these stands are some of the most broken ones in the series(GER and Purple Haze).

  • That's why they took care of Purple Haze HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH~sorry.

...But seriously, yeah. I went through this story because it was obligatory. I wanted to. But the final battle is one of the most bizzare things I've ever seen....well, no, this comes second behind stone ocean....come to think of it, I really wasn't feeling either ending.

...LOOK, IT JUST LEFT ME HANGING, ALRIGHT?!

  • If you want an explanation to Stone Ocean's ending PM me lol

  • this was the scariest pert of the manga for me

  • You have to fight without running, and watch for when his arms stop moving, because that means he's about to do an attack. Just use your Stand to block it.

  • you know whats so cool about this game

if you dont read the manga its so hard

  • yea thats tru

  • @NihonjinWaIchiban hell yea

  • Why is that cool?

  • WAAAAANAAAAABEEEEEE

  • at first trish was just a bitch

    she grown up

  • i took me 3 tries to beat him, its not like he really dies. But it kool when her stand awakens.

  • her stand's name is Spice Girls. and if you listen closely (or read the manga), the stand's battle cry is WANNNABEEEEEE

  • Sassa to anoyo e ikiyagareee!

  • What did she say? I've read all the manga but I can't remember what she said.

  • sassato=quickly

    anoyo=the hell

    e=to

    ikiyagare=going

  • GO TO HELL!!!!

    Awesome. Thank you. Ω

  • hmm... If I got my emulator work I could search for this game :P

  • I don't think there are any actual PS2 emulators out there...

Of course, there's always JJBA for the Dreamcast or Playstation1, which is manageable on average computers.

  • This is weird. Some names from the series are taken from famous musicians. There's Vanilla Ice, Dio (To me it sounds like Devo), White Album (Beatles album), and now this monster thing.

  • Dio is the ex-vocal from Black Sabbath. There's a Devo in the PSX/Arcade/Dreamcast game.

  • @SunsetKlD Its Dio the guy that did rainbow in the dark

  • There's also Rubber Soul(Beatle's album), Vanilla Ice(Rapper), Midler(Bette Midler), Hol Horse(Full Force), Oingo and Boingo(Oingo Boingo), Iggy(Iggy Pop) and MANY others.

  • I think on the intro to the final chapter, it explains an unused stand named Rolling Stone.

    Lulz.

  • Be glad you haven't read Part 2, then. The villains are Wham, ACDC, and Cars. They're supposed to be near-immortal vampire ancestors.

  • Then there's (R.E.O.) Speedwagon. Why hasn't anyone picked up on that one? :\

  • almost every character and stand is named after a musician especially in part 3 but in all the parts atleast 75 percent of the characters are named after musicians

  • That's one reason why JoJo is so awesome. But it's also the reason why it isn't really in America.

  • LOL!

    So true... so true.

  • @ultimatechakralives the reason for that is cause tyhe aurthor was running out of ideas for names and started using music for most of the names he comes up with

  • @ichigo11234 Heh. sounds like lawsuit about to happen.

  • @ichigo11234 well, i think he just ran out of tarot cards.

  • @ultimatechakralives VERY ASTUTE. :v

  • @ultimatechakralives

Dude, that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Off the top of my mind: JoJo, Bonham, Plant, Page, Jones, the Zeppeli(e) family, Dio (R.J.Dio), "Dire" & "Straits", "Tom Petty", Santana, "AC/DC", Cars, "Wham", Vanilla Ice, Terence Trent D'Arby, Crazy Diamond, Red Hot Chili Pepper, White Album, Sex Pistols, Sticky Fingers, Aerosmith, Spice Girl, Purple Haze, Moody Blues, Notorious B.I.G., Oasis, Green Day, Foo Fighters, Manhattan Transfer, Whitesnake, Weather Report ..and many more!

  • @ultimatechakralives there is a Devo who used a doll in the 3rd series

Unfortunately, he was renamed D'Bo in the english versions to avoid copyrighted names much like all of the other characters in the entire series. That's why you'll never see the other series (plus this game) in english. The creator doesn't want renaming....

  • @Cathador In the Viz Manga release he was renamed Soul Sacrifice for a more obscure music reference.

  • Awesome!

  • WANNABE!!!!!!
