I'm glad that I have the privilege to know and have known most of these men. By the way, you forgot SSG Rougle while showing the KIA. We can never forget the sacrifice that they have given. Long live the 173rd! AIRBORNE!
Poignant video. Forty years ago (seems shorter) Thanksgiving 1970, I was in D/2/503, at LZ English, RVN. Looking at your video sent chills up my spine. Proud to see that the fighting spirit is still there, but so sorry to see the loss of life and limb. Your sacrifices do not go unnoticed or unappreciated. Airborne, All The Way.
Sorry I did not reply sooner...I haven't checked on this in awhile. I never knew any of these Soldiers; I only made this video at the request of a friend who needed help raising money for the wounded of the 173rd BCT after the OEF rotation had ended.
The copyright owner of the music disputed my right to use it, and the video was pulled down for awhile. When I disputed the dispute someone at the company that owns the copyright okayed the video, but somehow the music got changed. I am going to be working on an updated video showing the Soldiers return to Vicenza over the Thanksgiving weekend, and I will repost WITH the original music intact.
Sir, I was made aware of your brother through my very good friend Leta Carruth. Please accept mt belated condolences for your loss. I humbly accept your gratitude, but there is no need; you and your family have made a far greater sacrifice than I ever have.
