  • The more I listen to this setting the more I love it. Thank you Graham. I love the 'Ladies from Hell' on the accordion while it sounds to me very 'dry' and lacks of personality on the bagpipes. The strathspey is pure 'Scotch Snap', the transition to the reel is great and the reel itself has a tremendous rhythm expression. Thanks for your music.

  • excellent stuff. well done.

  • The most beautiful MSR ever!

  • Aye, it's a splended wee jig

    From start to finish,

    Very Allegro!

  • even better if outside with scenery in background (something to look at)

  • B / C / C#

  • Outstanding! Makes me want to get up and dance...and I can't dance!

  • lovely playing.

  • Nicely played sir. I'm struggling to master some reels and this is a real inspiration.

  • brill again. did you use that recording machine to get such a nice sound. lovely thanks

  • Very nice touch!

    Excellent (5*****) playing!

    Fabrizio

  • Excellent, more Scottish button box players please

  • Wonderful !!!

Excellent performed on this folk. This partially very hard to play.

Great fun to hear this, because i play accordion and do know, how hard it is to get so far...

    bravissimo. Keep on doing this.

  • sorry i know what it means i was answering heidski question to "what does it mean" as in strathspey, got myself confused there aswell!! haha, yeah sos a strathspey is basically a scotch snap dance, the base is very sticcato and jumpy, thats probs the best way to put it!

  • is it one note in and another out? Man you make it look easy!

  • Nice playing, I love that pace.

No need to smile when you play so good.

  • Hey sometimes us accordion players have too much to concentrate on and SMILE TOO!

  • good virtuoso man thank

  • solo te falta sentirlo, es musica alegre quita esa cara

  • Common Graham, Smile. Your music is tremendous.

  • brilliant strathspey!

  • when are we going to hear more of you cant wait

  • it makes me want to strip the willow

  • What does that mean?

  • its a traditional scottish celtic dance

  • what does strathspey mean??

  • just a name like "cheese" or "world"

  • Strath is a valley and the Spey is a river that runs into the Moray Firth. I assume the music origonated from that area.

  • Very melodious and happy. Your music is absolutely delightful. I wish I could afford a nice accordion so I could play Scottish and Irish music.

  • The British 3 row accordion has one note when you pull the bellows out & a different one when you push them in.

  • Beautiful tunes, beautiful box. Great stuff.

  • Lovely stuff- I'm assuming it is a British Chromatic tuned B/C/C#. Play left and right from centre row and you get great music like this.(After twenty or so years practice of course)

  • Hi, you're right it is a B/C/C# British Chromatic.

  • What lovely playing. Do you also play piano accordion - my question is same as dosgitanos' - Is that accordion just the same action as a piano accordion but with buttons instead of piano keys? Love to hear more.. pls put some more up.

  • I've never played piano accordion! It is a British Chromatic, B/C/C# with Stradella basses

  • Rincebox, the 3 row British chromatic is completely different. One note when you push the bellows in and a different one as you pull them out. Nice playing Graham. Love the Tune Willy McGuire composed for you a few years ago

  • Thx :) I've never made the transition b/t piano acc and this but have had a go on two row button and concertina - takes a lot of work to get it smooth!

  • I've tried the three row myself and managed to get a set of waltzes out of it within ten minutes. If I had the money, I would have probably bought one to fool around with. I'm wishing I'd started on the 5 row however as it's a lot easier than the piano box

  • Funny you say that re button being easier, I remember a 2-row button player trying to convince me the piano acc was much easier. I didn't like to be rude and contradict him but I was secretly glad he'd never seen me struggling to get my fingers around some of the trickier reels :) There are never enough fingers!

  • Great Music! Is that a 3 row Chromatic accordion? It looks like a 3 row diatonic with stradella or free bass on the other side. Ive seen a zydeco guy with a similar looking accordion.

  • Hi, Yeah, it is a British Chromatic (that has 3 diatonic rows of B/C/C#,) with stradella basses.

  • Hi Graham, remember me? I used to play for your mother in the hotel in dunoon. I have my own band in oxford and just signed up for utube and there you were!! great playing!! Do you have a band or are you as shy now as then!!! regards colin and big derek if you see them. Murdo Macrae
