  • i purchased this only to learn that 3D was NOT flicker-free in all 3D modes it offered!

Expensive 2D novelty - if you wanna squander your money and you have lots of it to kiss goodbye!

  • @ancjob Haha, I heard you say that on the forums. Vuzix is a joke. I'm getting a Zeiss OLED, probably.

  • Calm down, man, you sounds very much like an Ad guy. the trick is not to sound like an ad guy while passing on your ad message.

  • is it worth buying this inspite of the crappy resolution???

  • COOL

  • Vuzix butt-kisser. This isn't a comprehensive review. :(

  • as absolutely ridiculous as that intro was, i loved this review ^_^

my av920's are supposed to arrive tomorrow, i cant wait!

used a pair of these a while back with a tiny video camera mounted on the back of a paintball gun... never had to stick my head out to shoot, lol

  • I got news for you. If you're a lover of classic game systems from before 1998, you won't be able to play them on these glasses because the AV920 has a meltdown if you try.

  • funny, right when i read this i went and got my atari and hooked it up and it worked fine

you just have to remember that the atari (nes, and genesis too if im not mistaken) outputs in rf not in composite so you need a converter

  • That's fine. I'm not an expert. I missed a couple.

The point is there are several systems you can't even play on it. When I use the i-theater by BMG, all my old consoles work fine. You got one inferior product versus one that does it all. That's all I gotta say.

  • The point is, maybe, with Vuzix AV920's, someone like YOU cant, but someone like me definitely CAN use all consoles PLUS computers... just cause someone/something says you cant, doesnt mean its true

i agree with your earlier comment though (which i JUST noticed was yours XP ) this is in no way a comprehensive review.. some comparisons with other HMDs would have been great

  • Well, I can't understand it then. I told Vuzix my experience exactly, how Playstation 2 and such works fine on them, but signals from Playstation 1 games cause problems with the display. They said there's nothing wrong with the glasses themselves.

If you own a Sony Playstation 1, please play a playstation 1 disc on your Vuzix AV920's and get back to me.

    The glasses wouldn't properly display:

    Sega 32X

    Sega CD

    Sega Genesis

    Sony Playstation 1

    Those ones wouldn't work.

  • Don't just flip on your game systems, look in the glasses, and then turn it off. Play the game for a little while and tell me what happens to the images inside. Especially a Sega CD (1992) or Sega 32X (1995). These systems in particular.

Also play a Playstation 1 game on the glasses. It looks fine at first, but after a little time passes, the images on screen go haywire. Try it out.

  • i have tested each system by playing each for over an hour and nothing goes wrong =\

im starting to think you may just have a bad pair

    it happens

  • Which systems?? You need to be specific. Did you play Playstation 1 software??

  • each system you specified, and more... i mean i have them all except for the master system

  • Interesting. Could you compare it to the Cinemizer?

  • I've never used or heard of the Cinemizer. I don't have the money to see all of them.
