I liked this video up until the part about catching and releasing them. Just put em all down. They are rodents and pests that need population control because they have no natural predators anymore. They aren't cute either. They are vicious and filthy.
my uncle just busted up the trash diggin bastards with a supressed .22 rifle. it was efficiant. not all that loud (if i were to break out my pcp .50 pellet gun it would have been much louder) now they arn't outside making a bunch of noise, and i have enouch coon to make a couple of hats
you are my hero a raccoon almost killed my cat...i want to get an air rifle so I can take those pests out...they have no good purpose all they do is destroy
@Damtreehuggers Just FYI but here in Indiana game wardens do not need any type of search warrent or permission to be on any property. They can even check in your truck and house with out any type of consent..
Great video! And don't even think twice about all the so-called activists. These same people who are so concerned with people ridding their OWN damn property of these pests will fire up their grills tonight and eat half a cow, pig, fish, or [pick-your-animal]. And the vegetarians are just as bad because they try so hard to make us do what THEY think is right. But notice none of "our kind" ever tries to make them do this? They are the only one's who ever make a bunch of noise over this.
Good to see a pest control job carried out cleanly and humanely. Just because these animals look cute to people who don't have to suffer them, doesn't mean they can't be a damned nuisance.
If they have to be killed, better by an airgun pellet to the brain than a lingering death by poison or trapped and left to die in agony. Good on you for a job well done.
i was hired to take out some pigeons at an apartment complex. used my crosman G1 extreme and some PBA gold raptor pellets. they no longer have a pigeon problem :D
I can get a .22 pellet gun (500 F.P.S.) from walmart up here in Canada, no license or nothing, do you think it can do the job from up close like 6 inches from their head.
@79Testo no please don't try this racoons have very thick sculls all you would do is cause the animal a lot of pain. If you don't have 20ft/lbs of energy on impact this would be torture to the animal. The rifle your describing only has 7-9ft/lbs from the muzzle :(
Dude thats awesome your helpin rid the world of those awfull creatures. I really dont see why some of those people care wether its humane or not... Think about it "humane" its for HUMANS who cares about those damn pests!!
Im a farmer i grow tobacco and corn. Coons eat over 200 dollars worth of crops each month. They break in to barns, shit on everything, scrach up cars, rip apart garbage and lot more damage. I shot 4 of them and the game cop came up few weeks ago and saw 3 dead coons in my fire pit and gave me 3, 150 dollar tickets that i have to go to court with. Its bull shit.
@DamTreeHuggers what state are you in? most states a farmer or land owners have the right to protect their property from wildlife that is ridiculous to be fined.
@DamTreeHuggers My first question would be, why was a Fish and Game Warden trespassing on your land, to even be in a position to see the dead coons? Illegally gathered evidence is inadmissible, might want to pursue that that angle.
@ytube4217 a game warden can go onto anybody's property, at any time, without a warrant, but if there is a gate across your driveway, he/she cannot, it is just the law
Fish and Game Warden know to me as DEC in New York are allow to come on anyone property. They have more power then the State Troopers. Why Do they have more power, you might ask. They are here to protect Wildlife, even in your backyard. Which mean they can trespass into anyone land. Most State required a hunting license to take game or Varmint.
If you didn't know this then you don't know the law. You can only blame yourself for your illegal actions
@DamTreeHuggers most of the time state permission is needed before you kill any hunt-able species... Local game wardens will almost always give you permission to take "problem" animals off your property by any means you see fit. I've done depredation on farms for years.. I've had cops tell me I have no limits and I can throw grenades at em if I want!! of course I didn't but really it was as easy as one phone call to the warden.. he came and inspected the farms.. wrote me a permit.. booyaah!
@DamTreeHuggers You might want to put the dead ratcoons into trash bags next time, put lots of trash into the bags on top of the carcasses, and tie them up tightly. No one's the wiser. ;)
@DamTreeHuggers what the fuck, are you serious? they gave you a fucking fine for practicing pest control on your property? you have got to be fucking with me...that is just awful man.
Your only mistake was trying to dispose of the coon bodies yourself. After you kill one just carry it way out in your field in a bucket and dump it there. The possums will dispose of the coon in a couple of nights and there won't be a trace of it and there won't be any evidence left that can be tied to you. You only got the ticket because you put the coons in your fire pit - now you know better.
At my ranch we have a big prolbem with raccoons getting inside the house and eating all of our food and trashing the place.I rembering coming home to the house at the ranch and there was at least five raccoons jumping out the window with trash scattered everywhere. They got to go.
@JaleelJohanson62 take a look at my channel. i am not a hunter i am a wildlife pest control agent. hunters hunt for sport and try to give there prey a fair chance. In my line of work as a paid professional my job is to eliminate or severely reduce the numbers of my target species quickly and effectively as possible.
hey i have raccoons and possums but i never catch them in my yard...just the mess they leave after getting into the trash...is there a certain time they come out? is there a better way than waiting up all night to see if i get lucky ? any info would be great!
@moto9ll yes get a couple 32"x12"x10" live traps or close to that size & bait with can dog or cat food place traps in the area they causing damage. It would also be helpful to handle traps with gloves & spray scent killer to eliminate any humane scent.
would a .22 cal air arms tx200 be enough for raccoon control? i live in Indiana and there are no power limits on air rifles like some places dont allow over 12 lbs ...i been looking for a reason to buy one..a few just came to me...=)
@moto9ll The TX200 in .22 is an amazing rifle but falls short in the necessary power to humanely take a raccoon. It averages 17ft/lbs of energy at the muzzle. I know people will tell you yes but you will need to take multiple shots & thats not humane.
im goignt o get a .22 benjamin discover as my first pcp gun. has alot of good reviews and afte talking with a bunch of people on pellet head network and seeing 50 yd groups from it I want one. cheap in price and a good bigger intothe pcp world.
you'll be better off getting a better one i made the mistake of getting a bottom of the range pcp, i out grew it within a month, becuase there so easy to shoot but a really good pcp is allways going to be able to out shoot you, my first pcp (FX typhoon) was accurate to 55 ish yard my theoben rapid is accurate to a little over a 100 maybe more i havn't shot it past there yet
If you want to stay in the low price pcp range you should check into the Benjamin Marauder its a lot of rifle for a low price. Its not as good as Air Arms, Daystate, or Theoben but a lot cheaper.
Hey I have a rimington genisis. Is that a good one. It say it shoots 1200fps and I know it has a good kick to it. But all I've shot w it are grackles. Can I go for bigger prey?
Hi question i am geting a walther talon magnum .22 rifle it shoots lead pellets at 1000 fps it says it can take out raccons but what do you think they also have it in ..177 shooting lead pellets at .177 what would be better for taking out ground hogs coons opposums rabbits etc etc?
For anything larger than squirrel or rabbit I do suggest .22caliber. For all the answers to your questions just go to my Wildlife Pest Control group on my home page. It has a lot of info that I have gathered over the past 23 years enjoy.
yes if the shot placement is bad. power and accuracy is a critical key in humane pest control. if you know what your doing they won't know what hit them( 1 shot 1 kill !!! )
Not all are destructive but you don't want them to make your home their territory. They are willing to kill to keep it. Don't under estimate them they are like miniature bears Sharp claws, teeth, and amazing strength.
Yes a well placed headshot will anchor them were there standing but there will be kicks triggered by the nerves for a few seconds. With the .25 caliber you can take heart shots that to will anchor it were its standing. With a lung shot your raccoon may run for a while before it drops. Hope this answers your question.
excellent shooting. I have a 850 air mag now looking to get air venture halestorm, u think it will do the jod on coons ? I have 2 midnight bandits 2 take care of.
yes a Halestorm will take care of em easily. i'm gonna get the Benjamin Marauder for Christmas so i will be joining you in the raccoon war shortly lol.
Yes in the .22caliber Halestorm will have sufficient energy to take a raccoon humanely with good shot placement. The 177caliber can also but not humanely it doesn't carry enough energy and there is a 50% chance your raccoon will run away wounded :(
Im glad i'm taking my remmington when I go camping, last time we went caping, racoons ate 50% of our food, and there were 12 of them. This time, IM GONNA KILL EM ALL...
it depends on where and what the raccoons have been feeding on. Try marshmallows, peanuts in the shell, or cat food in the can. They eat just about anything these are just some of their favorites.
Raccoons are very strong creatures they paws are like hands. They have thumbs and very sharp claws that allow them to pull, rip and ,tear. You must not know much about roofing because anyone can do this. Roofing shingles can be easily ripped up and eves and soffits are even easier
For the record the rifle used was a .22caliber rifle. I am a professional and don't want to loose my license doing anything illegal on the jobs I do. As stated before my adult high powered .22 air rifle is used in situations where it is illegal to use a firearm. Also I don't use shorts I use subsonic hp's :)
This is true without a suppressor which I do have. The subs I use give me a little over 100ft/lbs at the muzzle. The standard long is 33ft/lbs. The.22 air rifle I use is 32ft/lbs. I have no need for them. Thanks for the comment :)
Nooo!!! 1st getting a shot that shuts down every muscle including the ones used to spray is not impossible but pretty close to it. 2nd for coon I recommend only .22cal or higher. 3rd a 25ft/lbs or higher is needed to humanely take coon. The G1 maxes out at 17ft/lbs energy.
I've had three different holes ripped in the roof of my home by raccoons. I live in the center of a city in the midwest and can't shoot them due to the noise and the fear of the bullet going on through and hitting a person or their property.
The temptation is there though, especially if I get a good down facing shot that would go into the ground!
The AK-47 round would definitely do the job but your legal fees would probably put you in debt. I suggest you hire a professional that can legally shoot or get yourself a few 10"x 12"x 36" live traps and bait them with marshmallows. If your in the York, PA. area I have reasonable rates :)
ShadowSalt i like your idea i have the same rifle mines the stingers. but anything will do to be honest hahaha. I own a .22cal winchester with a bullbarrel and that does just fine
If your looking for a large pest control rifle I would say the Benjamin Marauder in .22cal. This rifle is new and if its claims are true it should be close to performing like my Air Arms S410 :)
No No No No No not large pest control, not even any pest control. I'm looking for a super accurate plinking rifle and I think Benjamin Discovery .177 cal should do it ( I did some research on it after I posted the comment ) and maybe there is something cheaper but still pretty acurate. Any suggestens?
what pellet gun are you using? im thinking about getting a cheap yet effective air rifle. any suggestions if i want to take down something like a racoon or opossum? btw nice shooting. sounds like a fun job!
If you are looking for a rifle that can take large pest humanely it's not going to be cheap. These rifles are usually pcp and are .22 caliber or larger. I use a Air Arms S410 Xtra in .22cal. 32ft/lbs at the muzzle and 21ft/lbs at 50 yards. The Benjamin Marauder in .22cal is the first american 10 shot pcp that can fit in this category and is just under $500
Yes it looks to be a very good rifle for the price. I am interested on hearing how it does over time. Don't be suckered by manufactures advertisements of power and accuracy read at least 10 reviews from experienced shooters to find out if the rifle is all it claims to be.
many people think the animals suffer but with a nice placed headshot in the vital areas they do not suffer it's the nerves. So don't give people shit for doing this especially if it's their job.
It is very hard to answer that because it depends on the rifle and the pellet. But usually a premium .177 is dead on out 35 yards and a premium .22 is dead on out to 50 yards. Dead on meaning 1 hole groups.
.177 pellets are usualy lighter then .22 there for the wind takes them easier at long range makeing accuracy not as good as the .22 as the .22 is heavier therefor the wind doesn,t take it as much makeing it more accurate at long range but the .177 travel faster then a .22 makeing a cleaner and easier kill as its lighter and has a smaller surface area!!
I think .177 is more flat shooting if there isn't any wind. They aren't much different from eachother really only like a 5 grain difference...thats not much to take into consideration if you are shooting under 40 yards both are accurate
I liked this video up until the part about catching and releasing them. Just put em all down. They are rodents and pests that need population control because they have no natural predators anymore. They aren't cute either. They are vicious and filthy.

HerpMastertheFirst 2 years ago
For anything larger than squirrel or rabbit I do suggest .22caliber. For all the answers to your questions just go to my Wildlife Pest Control group on my home page. It has a lot of info that I have gathered over the past 23 years enjoy.

i've heard raccoons make a hideous noise when shot - is this true?
lumberchicken007 2 years ago
yes if the shot placement is bad. power and accuracy is a critical key in humane pest control. if you know what your doing they won't know what hit them( 1 shot 1 kill !!! )
NTEESUPREME 2 years ago
what gun did you use?
zipperz730 2 years ago
Air Arms S410 Xtra .22cal fac
NTEESUPREME 2 years ago
Thats your job? COOL!
cooks9 2 years ago
i didn't realize how destructive they were
megapinecone 2 years ago
Not all are destructive but you don't want them to make your home their territory. They are willing to kill to keep it. Don't under estimate them they are like miniature bears Sharp claws, teeth, and amazing strength.

thanks, if i see one it sure as hell won't come back xD

NTEESUPREME 2 years ago
nice shoots i want that job lol i can only find squrriels and i take them out with head shots at 40 and 50 yards so a coon is no prob

Check with your local game commission for the requirements and test needed for licensing.
NTEESUPREME 2 years ago
where is it legal to hunt?
najuva 2 years ago
Sorry I am not a hunter I am a Wildlife Pest Control Agent. Check with your local gaming commission for that info.

will a walther falcon hunter in .25cal kill a raccon immediately with a head shot or to the center mass of the body
dirtrox72 2 years ago
Yes a well placed headshot will anchor them were there standing but there will be kicks triggered by the nerves for a few seconds. With the .25 caliber you can take heart shots that to will anchor it were its standing. With a lung shot your raccoon may run for a while before it drops. Hope this answers your question.
NTEESUPREME 2 years ago
excellent shooting. I have a 850 air mag now looking to get air venture halestorm, u think it will do the jod on coons ? I have 2 midnight bandits 2 take care of.
351nxtlane 2 years ago
yes a Halestorm will take care of em easily. i'm gonna get the Benjamin Marauder for Christmas so i will be joining you in the raccoon war shortly lol.
AirgunAddict256 2 years ago
Yes in the .22caliber Halestorm will have sufficient energy to take a raccoon humanely with good shot placement. The 177caliber can also but not humanely it doesn't carry enough energy and there is a 50% chance your raccoon will run away wounded :(

haha, that vid was sick. the music went really well and the way it was put together was almost like some sort of p.s.a. warning about invasion lol
blacklabelqlewis 2 years ago
Im glad i'm taking my remmington when I go camping, last time we went caping, racoons ate 50% of our food, and there were 12 of them. This time, IM GONNA KILL EM ALL...
gunsandkonig 2 years ago
What kind of remington rimfire or centerfire?
NTEESUPREME 2 years ago
my friend and i have been postd for a couple nights, what food best attracts racoons?
FATBIRD333 2 years ago
it depends on where and what the raccoons have been feeding on. Try marshmallows, peanuts in the shell, or cat food in the can. They eat just about anything these are just some of their favorites.
NTEESUPREME 2 years ago
Do raccoons get saws and start cutting holes in houses????? How can a raccoon do that?
TheAssasinator5STL 2 years ago
Raccoons are very strong creatures they paws are like hands. They have thumbs and very sharp claws that allow them to pull, rip and ,tear. You must not know much about roofing because anyone can do this. Roofing shingles can be easily ripped up and eves and soffits are even easier
NTEESUPREME 2 years ago
its called claws and teeth.

Thanks would have loved to use you Air Wolf :D
NTEESUPREME 2 years ago
why not just a 22 cal rifle? if you use the short shots its all most as quite as a air rifle.
mostdishonorable 2 years ago
For the record the rifle used was a .22caliber rifle. I am a professional and don't want to loose my license doing anything illegal on the jobs I do. As stated before my adult high powered .22 air rifle is used in situations where it is illegal to use a firearm. Also I don't use shorts I use subsonic hp's :)
NTEESUPREME 2 years ago
Longs are by far much quieter than subsonics.
mlke4258 2 years ago
This is true without a suppressor which I do have. The subs I use give me a little over 100ft/lbs at the muzzle. The standard long is 33ft/lbs. The.22 air rifle I use is 32ft/lbs. I have no need for them. Thanks for the comment :)
NTEESUPREME 2 years ago
beacuse its more fun to shoot them with a pellet gun! XD
TheGunguy1 2 years ago
do u think a G1 .177 air rifle will take a skunk or coon with a headshot from maybe 10-15 yards with a good pellet?
cfundevil 2 years ago
NTEESUPREME 2 years ago
WHAT ARE YOU AIMING FOR THE HEAD?
Jonnybarbs 2 years ago
When ever using a small bore or air rifle head shots are the most humane shots you can take.
NTEESUPREME 2 years ago
I've had three different holes ripped in the roof of my home by raccoons. I live in the center of a city in the midwest and can't shoot them due to the noise and the fear of the bullet going on through and hitting a person or their property.
The temptation is there though, especially if I get a good down facing shot that would go into the ground!
Would a 7.62 X 39 hp do the job?
crockagator919 2 years ago
The AK-47 round would definitely do the job but your legal fees would probably put you in debt. I suggest you hire a professional that can legally shoot or get yourself a few 10"x 12"x 36" live traps and bait them with marshmallows. If your in the York, PA. area I have reasonable rates :)
NTEESUPREME 2 years ago
ShadowSalt i like your idea i have the same rifle mines the stingers. but anything will do to be honest hahaha. I own a .22cal winchester with a bullbarrel and that does just fine
jdmitz16 2 years ago
What do you suggest:
Benjamin Discovery .177 cal
Benjamin Discovery .22 cal
Benjamin Marauder .22 cal
Please reply.
Thank-you.
sfshrimp 2 years ago
If your looking for a large pest control rifle I would say the Benjamin Marauder in .22cal. This rifle is new and if its claims are true it should be close to performing like my Air Arms S410 :)
NTEESUPREME 2 years ago
No No No No No not large pest control, not even any pest control. I'm looking for a super accurate plinking rifle and I think Benjamin Discovery .177 cal should do it ( I did some research on it after I posted the comment ) and maybe there is something cheaper but still pretty acurate. Any suggestens?
sfshrimp 2 years ago
hey im looking to get the benjamn in .177 too. im going to hunt from racoon down. well at least try it.
PBAProAir 2 years ago
Benjamin in .177 is too small don't be inhumane please!!!
NTEESUPREME 2 years ago
Go with a 22 Cal with a Bull Barrel and CCI High Velocity Hollow Point Stingers.
ShadowSalt 2 years ago
what pellet gun are you using? im thinking about getting a cheap yet effective air rifle. any suggestions if i want to take down something like a racoon or opossum? btw nice shooting. sounds like a fun job!
drzoidberg223 2 years ago
If you are looking for a rifle that can take large pest humanely it's not going to be cheap. These rifles are usually pcp and are .22 caliber or larger. I use a Air Arms S410 Xtra in .22cal. 32ft/lbs at the muzzle and 21ft/lbs at 50 yards. The Benjamin Marauder in .22cal is the first american 10 shot pcp that can fit in this category and is just under $500

How old do you have to be to get a job like this?
skaterman54321 2 years ago
It varies state to state. I believe 18 is the minimum
NTEESUPREME 2 years ago
The new Benjamin Marauder (in .22) will be able to do this with the right shot placement, correct?
Out to 20 yards or so, maybe?
Thanks
blackdiamond211 2 years ago
Yes it looks to be a very good rifle for the price. I am interested on hearing how it does over time. Don't be suckered by manufactures advertisements of power and accuracy read at least 10 reviews from experienced shooters to find out if the rifle is all it claims to be.
NTEESUPREME 2 years ago
now how do i get a job like this? lol hunting down small game for a living, that sounds like my kind of career.
dela213 2 years ago
You can go work for a company or you can take a wildlife pest control test and start your own business.
NTEESUPREME 2 years ago
many people think the animals suffer but with a nice placed headshot in the vital areas they do not suffer it's the nerves. So don't give people shit for doing this especially if it's their job.

Could a regular red rider bb gun take out a squirrel?
gogognick 2 years ago 2
I don't recommend it but it is a slight possibility at very close range.
NTEESUPREME 2 years ago
well i have recently taken a pigeon with a red rider bb gun and i know a guy who took a small bird like a starling at 20 feet with one.
daisyhunter123 2 years ago
which has more range and accuracy? a 22.cal or 177 cal air rifle
Lemonade63 2 years ago
It is very hard to answer that because it depends on the rifle and the pellet. But usually a premium .177 is dead on out 35 yards and a premium .22 is dead on out to 50 yards. Dead on meaning 1 hole groups.
NTEESUPREME 2 years ago
.177 pellets are usualy lighter then .22 there for the wind takes them easier at long range makeing accuracy not as good as the .22 as the .22 is heavier therefor the wind doesn,t take it as much makeing it more accurate at long range but the .177 travel faster then a .22 makeing a cleaner and easier kill as its lighter and has a smaller surface area!!
mattygj999 2 years ago
I think .177 is more flat shooting if there isn't any wind. They aren't much different from eachother really only like a 5 grain difference...thats not much to take into consideration if you are shooting under 40 yards both are accurate
TheNecrophagistGuy 2 years ago
could i use a.177 cal to take a raccoon?
THEBIOWOLF 2 years ago
yes if you know where to shoot and have at least 22ft/lbs on impact
