2- These were all still pre-production models, so most of it will still have paint apps 'n such that the final production ver. didn't. Some of the molds may differ as well.

Just because they use the same suits and uses stock footage from Ryuki doesn't really mean a rip-off. Using the same storyline IS a rip-off. Go figure.
Actully, they use a lot of Ryukis footage. Some of them are just in the wrong ep. (example: dragon knight ep 3: they used some clips of Ryuki ep 4(not sure if true, just an example)
Dragon Knight makes a lot of its own footage and fight scenes as well, it mostly saves them time an seems more authentic to use the old footage at times
Nothing is unique about Ben 10. I think there are some people who hate the live action movie.
Also, don't underestimate the Wang Brothers. They're diehard Kamen Rider fans. Steve Wang directed Guyver 2: Dark Hero.
At least KRDK is better than Ryuki. It's story is more faithful to Shotaro Ishinomori's works than Ryuki. Ryuki is HIGHLANDER w/ Kamen Riders and it's unoriginal yet overrated; and 13 riders=profit.

Even it they did release the original KR Ryuki belt, some kids may may be impress all it do is flash a red light.
As for RPM, on series the the mecha/zords don't talk, so the bandai couldn't release the deluxe. It will be a expensive if the release it with the use of the engine cells.
The Japanese versions may be superior, but I still think the Dragon Knight toys look pretty cool despite the small size.
I think they made them that way because Kamen Rider is completely new in America and they don't wanna invest so much money on something that might flop over here. Plus America is in recession.

it makes sense that the kamen rider dragon merchandise in comming out in spring/summer because the brand new episodes of dragon knight is comming in august, i guess it gives the kids and adults time to watch and play along with the reruns with their merchandise, before the new episodes start.

Uh Toei has a hand in it asswipe. They gave license to adness (so in order to be able to use footage) and adness handled the production and contracted the american directors and writers. Toei also supervised the progress of production as well! If Toei wasn't confident enough to let the Wang brothers handle it, why would they do it in the first place?

As I have said, there's nothing wrong with making NEW merchandise for America and specific for DK to Ryuki. But, this stuff looks CHEAP. I can go to the dollar store and get figures with more articulation, accessories, and features than these.

I just hope the stuff gets better, as the series gains momentum...IF, it gains momentum. It has to compete with everything else out there...seeing what Hasbro did to the Indiana Jones line, it's scary to see how a bad start or just general mishandling of a line can DOOM it.
If the toyline doesn't do well, the series is going to suffer (and vice-versa). I just think they could have done more with it. This is a decent American adaption...don't wanna see it die, because they wanted "cheap".
If they do that, then it will ignite the flame wars to insult the USA just for making their own armor hero. Remember Mystic Knights? Despite of it a great show, it got panned because it's tehir own thing.
Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation got the same panning even they have well-known actors and voice actors. Original western produced? Yes. DVD releases? ZERO.
Before you get a Mirror monster, you have a contract card (riders can have MORE THAN 1) and the contract card has to contract a monster BEFORE they become Advent cards.
Not for the American version. If you hardcore fans wanted the RYUKI belt so much, go chase it overseas and shit. Its only what like 50 bucks? Seriously were you fucking expecting exact Ryuki merch? GOD!

I never said you're wrong except on the basis of you whining about why can't the toys be as good as the Japanese counterpart. The corporations make the call on how they are produced and only care about the potential profits, as opposed to the input of hardcore KR fans who know better.
I also think it has to do with the present economy. No one would pay big bucks for a toy even if its a KR slapped on it, at least to the audience its pandering to. That and Bandai USA is playing safe and cheap.
But, that's just shooting yourself in the foot before a race. The belts and RP toys maybe cool, but the main things kids play with and the main things that drive sales are FIGURES.
You have figures that have 4-points of articulation (neck, shoulders, waist) and not many accessories...there's no reason for a kid to want it over all the other more detailed, articulated, accessory packed figures on the market. Even the Power Rangers stuff is head over heels better than this. It's sad...
Well, let's hope they do a good job. Because, Dragon Knight is kinda just an experiment...the fate of future projects depends on this. I'd hate for it all to go bottom-up, just because sales were subpar or the ratings weren't all that good.

Actully, they use a lot of Ryukis footage. Some of them are just in the wrong ep. (example: dragon knight ep 3: they used some clips of Ryuki ep 4(not sure if true, just an example)

Nothing is unique about Ben 10. I think there are some people who hate the live action movie.
Also, don't underestimate the Wang Brothers. They're diehard Kamen Rider fans. Steve Wang directed Guyver 2: Dark Hero.
At least KRDK is better than Ryuki. It's story is more faithful to Shotaro Ishinomori's works than Ryuki. Ryuki is HIGHLANDER w/ Kamen Riders and it's unoriginal yet overrated; and 13 riders=profit.

Even it they did release the original KR Ryuki belt, some kids may may be impress all it do is flash a red light.
As for RPM, on series the the mecha/zords don't talk, so the bandai couldn't release the deluxe. It will be a expensive if the release it with the use of the engine cells.

The Japanese versions may be superior, but I still think the Dragon Knight toys look pretty cool despite the small size.
I think they made them that way because Kamen Rider is completely new in America and they don't wanna invest so much money on something that might flop over here. Plus America is in recession.

Saban did the same thing when they ported Super Sentai over as Power Rangers. The average person isn't going to know the differences (and the average american isn't going to know Dragon Knight was imported and renamed)
I have to give the guys that imported Ryuki credit...I was worried we'd have another Power Rangers on our hands (more family and funny than dark like the Kamen Rider series is)

Yet, now we have these VERY popular and successful shows about people with super powers, and special abilities. It wouldn't be that far of a stretch for some writers to come up with something serious and slightly darker and add a transforming/cyborg main character/hero. Something like Garo, or along the lines of demons or something...

You really don't know how things work, do you? Toei has NOTHING to do with any of the American stuff. It's all Adness, Steve and Michael Wang. Uh Toei has a hand in it asswipe. They gave license to adness (so in order to be able to use footage) and adness handled the production and contracted the american directors and writers. Toei also supervised the progress of production as well! If Toei wasn't confident enough to let the Wang brothers handle it, why would they do it in the first place?

You think the american toy economy wants to shell out for that? Thats enthusiast territory there for now! There are youtube vids on how it operates and might I say its pretty slick. As I have said, there's nothing wrong with making NEW merchandise for America and specific for DK to Ryuki. But, this stuff looks CHEAP. I can go to the dollar store and get figures with more articulation, accessories, and features than these.
Comparing these to other similar things on the market, it's laughable. It's just lazy and cheap on their part. I'm not too crazy about Ryuki, but I will just keep buying the Japanese stuff...like, I have been.

But cut them a bit of slack. From your enthusiast/hardcore point of view of FUCKING COURSE these are PALE in comparison to the japanese version. I'm not sure the factors of why they decided cheap necessarily but one thing for sure is they aren't going to appeal for the hardcore KR fans. Plain and simple.

I just hope the stuff gets better, as the series gains momentum...IF, it gains momentum. It has to compete with everything else out there...seeing what Hasbro did to the Indiana Jones line, it's scary to see how a bad start or just general mishandling of a line can DOOM it.
If the toyline doesn't do well, the series is going to suffer (and vice-versa). I just think they could have done more with it. This is a decent American adaption...don't wanna see it die, because they wanted "cheap".

And, what's wrong with them using the original molds and plans for the original merchandise? It's a LOT higher quality than this shit. Really...figures that move at the arms and waist...that's HORSESHIT. 3 3/4 Star Wars figures have more articulation than that, for crying out loud.

I never said you're wrong except on the basis of you whining about why can't the toys be as good as the Japanese counterpart. The corporations make the call on how they are produced and only care about the potential profits, as opposed to the input of hardcore KR fans who know better.
I also think it has to do with the present economy. No one would pay big bucks for a toy even if its a KR slapped on it, at least to the audience its pandering to. That and Bandai USA is playing safe and cheap.

You have figures that have 4-points of articulation (neck, shoulders, waist) and not many accessories...there's no reason for a kid to want it over all the other more detailed, articulated, accessory packed figures on the market. Even the Power Rangers stuff is head over heels better than this. It's sad...
