What i was trying to say in my last comment, is that, Disney created these old classics, so that when he has passed on, and new disney movies are made, he wants the oldies to have a special place in our hearts. Tangled, princess and the frog, are just fonys that try to imitate the oldies and try to create a new generation of classics. Luckily, it failed, although people do like them, they are NOT classics. so appreciate the oldies ;)
@theowlspirit1 Failed? Tangled was a commercial success and I can tell you, as someone who worked at Disney World as the movie was coming out, little girls ADORE both Tiana and Rapunzel. Rapunzel has one of the longest lines of any face character in all four of the Disney World parks. To the children who are growing up now, these movies WILL be classics. And Disney HAS created classics since Walt died. (Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, etc.)
everyone, i hate Hannah montana and phineas and ferb too. 100% HATE. but if we all wish that the classics are back, then, we'll won't remember them in a unique way anymore. These classics ( Snow White, Bambi, Peter Pan, Dumbo, Pinocchio, etc.) are all made by Walt Disney's PERSONAL touch, if we ask for classics these days, then it will seem like they are trying to hide the old ones. For instance, the princess and the frog, it tries to match up with the old ones. and it hardly, isn't a classic.
theres a Camolot park in Fresno, Mersed, Gilroy, and other town in California, because I've been to the one in Fresno when I've last lived there and I love their race tracks. I wish Disneyland still have this like this.
Love it when they were bragging about the cost of the hotel. Capatalism was good. Making money was good. Everyone today wants to be equal. It can not be. Today making money is a bad word. It is great to make money and enjoy life. Capatalism is great and it created Disneyland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
at least most of the original rides are still there they always remind us of the orignal movies, at least they remind me of that (even though i was born WAYYYYYY after all of this) lol
god bless walt disney. he was such a great man. it is very upsetting to see that everything he worked so hard to make is ending. nobody who works at disney seem to care anymore. all they want is money. they dont care about the kids or the park. its very sad to see...
@alaine93 Radio Disney / Disney TV with worthless idiots like "hannah montana" and all of the other sick crap that makes up Radio Disney would never be tolerated by Walt. I really wish they would go back to what they had in the 50's and 60's, I bet that kids would love it. Instead they produce utter crap with media and attention whores like Britney Spears. Thank you Eisner, for destroying something that was once worth while, innocent, quality and great!
There are more people than you think that still care about the magic that the parks bring to the world. Soon will be a Cast Member who will devote my entire life to see those priceless faces of the familys who visit the Happiest Place on Earth everyday.
@wdw1hsm1girl I agree. As a huge lover of classic Disney and the parks, I love seeing the joyful faces of little kids enjoying themselves at the parks. I even arranged for my 3 year old to be transformed into a princess on her birthday and the cast members at Disneyland (without my knowledge) arranged all of the Disney princesses to meet her at the castle with a surprise birthday gift. I wouldn't say all workers are in it for the money, most of them truly do care about making dreams come true.
@KilasuYama I have a freind who has worked at the WDW parks for 17 years. He deals with the complaining guests, but he couldn't imagine working anywhere else. If he ever got fired, he has no idea what he would do.
@disneytwilightgirl what mad ehim a great man? coz he made some cartoons? do u know he hated Jews and african americans, they wereat allowed to work for him. he only gave woman the crapest jobs at his studio and never let them enter the mens areas and told them to stay away from the married men. he refused his workers a union so when they protested he accused some of them of being communists....i could go on....
@TheNeonAngel You have bought into a lot of the BS out there designed to tear this guy down. It's what the left does. I really don't care what you believe, but don't expect me to believe it. I've read books about Walt Disney, and done a lot of my own research. It's tough running a business now and then. He was being demonized even then because he surrounded himself with the most talented, and ambitious individuals to make his visions come to life.
@disneytwilightgirl I'm really sorry you think this way. I'm sorry you think that no one who works at Disney cares anymore. I'm sorry you think that all we want is money (although it is a business, and as far as I know, the point of a business IS to make money). I'm also especially sad you think that we don't care about the kids. When is the last time you ever came to Disneyland? We always strive to make everyone's (kids and adults) experience one of a kind.
And today, a smaller version of the rocket ship can be found at Disneyland, over near, coincidentally enough, Space Mountain, as a combination drink stand and mister (for on hot days).
wow! what a star studed grand opening! Ronald Reagan, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, Bob Cummings, Art Linklater, and of course, Walt Disney himself!!
I love how this program is so unscripted and unpredictable. Live television was really a new thing back then, and it has a certain charm. It must have been exciting to watch this at home and not knowing what would happen next.
