Frank was such a good dancer. You see how much dedication that took him and he nails it so fine. He could dance exceptionally well. He acted very well too. He doesnt have to take a back seat to anyone when it came to comedy on Live At The Sands, and on top of all that he was THE MUTHA of all singers.
Gene was a real dancer, one of the best back in the day and up to today. I didn't know Frankie could dance although back then you had to be able to sing , dance , and act to get roles in Hollywood.
Both of these men were top-notch dancers, singers, and entertainers, absolutely wonderful. They were great together when dancing was art choreographed to make a statement of beauty and not simply today's exercise; brash & crash!
@GAClive Frank Sinatra didn't know how to dance until this movie, and as Gene Kelly basically taught him, then yes he was probably watching both their feet the entire time
@Keytara1 Well, that's a long time back.. I was sort of a brown Sinatra..Hard to believe we were all 'cute', then.. At 65, I'm not that bad to look at.. The hair was black, and, as I mentioned, the belly was flat. Lost the teeth, but, I still have a head full of hair, though gray.. Love old movies.. I can still shake 'em down, 'Sugar Momma'..!
this is the best scene and it's all due to Gene's great ability to teach Frank to dance. They rehearsed 8 weeks on this number, and it took 73 takes to get this scene, because Frank couldn't get the jumps towards the end right, but in the end the finished product is amazing..if i do say so myself.
Gee, was FS ever skinny, oh and cute! These two are adorable together, both were so dedicated to entertaining people. Where are there modern day counterparts/equals?
@hellasexy22 Baby, you'dve thought I was in an MGM musical, the way I looked in dress blues.. And, I could really shake 'em down, Momma..! Not too bad to look at today.. The hair's all there.. Like I said, black hair, flat belly; now, I take out my teeth instead of girls.. But, my wife loves me, even if that was all 145 lbs ago.. LOL..! Like I said, the queers just wouldn't leave me be.. Oh, they had good taste; I just wasn't available, dearie..
Ahhh, Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra make a fantastic duo, especially here. Its noticeable that Gene is much more confident with the dancing of course, but damn, Frank follows along very well for a natural singer!! My bf looks like a 20-year old Frank, so cute!!
lol FAT CHANCE! "Square that shit away or I'll lock you in the supply closet and tell the MAs you're a terrorist." That was the best line I ever heard from one of my superiors. But kickin back and having fun every now and then is ok too :)

Wouldn't have thought of the Chairman of the Board as being a dancer, but he does a great job of keeping up with Kelly here.
