  • Great great great video. Just noticed that Max is playing on stage level, and is not on a drum riser. Old school stuff :-)

  • BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,EVER

  • THAT'S ROCK AND ROLLI believe Jon Landau called him at the time"The Future of Rock and Roll";unfortunately, when he's gone--there's not much to replace him with.....fukin American Idol Generation..

  • Fine stuff....very fine.

    Nice.

  • Best performance ever

  • 5:05 is the theme from Shaft. I can't believe I've watched this performance so many times and not notice that.

  • HATS!!!!

  • Steve had hair, I forgot.

  • This rocks so much I'm getting bruises!

  • Why Do Those 9 People Even Come To Watch A Video To Dislike ... You Can NEVER dislike THE BOSS C'mon Its THE BOSS enough says

  • Some of the greatest stage performances of rock and roll ever recorded. Amazing fun and energy from the band.

  • Boss.

  • The Greatest Rock Song ever written and performed.

  • I'm getting this on DVD...Awesome!!

  • Well say what you want, but that's a Show. I saw Bruce Springsteen at the Amnesty International tour, with Peter Gabriel. If you ask me, you just can't understand Bruce Springsteen unless you've seen him live. Just listening to him on the radio doesn't give it to you. Great job!

  • My Bruce, for 30 years

  • This should be required viewing for every person on earth.

  • @shanatp Couldn't agree more. Absolutely thrilling.

  • @shanatp AGREED

  • the best thing is I've got this DVD at home!!!

  • @asdasas2305

    Same!

  • Goose-bumpin' great!

  • They should be named Bruce Springsteen and the Pimp Hat Band

  • the heart breakin', earth shakin', history makin', sexualatin', discombobulatin', record breakin' E street band. you young rockers better take notes

  • @bizzmarky76 Aha so true

  • Fuckin Hell.

  • So, when did Little Steven start looking like a pirate? PEACE.

  • He don't write 'em like that anymore. :(

  • I'm not sure if anyone said it yet, but Bruce definitely borrowed that intro from the opening line to Jay & The Americans 60's hit "Come a Little Bit Closer" - very cool.

  • ....and Clarence has borrowed quite a few sax solos from that song too!

  • that was possibly the greatest video i've ever seen, i saw them back in october, but why could i not have been alive to seem here.

  • Bruce rocked the knit hat long before all of us.

  • @rmaxjames His Mom made it for him.

  • Bruce.....before he embraced his curly hair. So cute. My favorite band 25 years ago and still very close to my heart!

  • beautiful!

  • Young energy, the best rock and roll band, great song, and a great front man, = GOOD SHIT! I wish I could have been at this show!

  • Big, deep voice and a five star band.

  • What a great and interesting intro to Rosalita.

    Just awesome!

  • This man reminds me of the importance of music

  • best version ever!!!

  • Always have, and always will be - the future of rock n roll. Sorry Bono, ur fu**d, theres only 1 boss!!!

  • Back when they were young and skinny.

  • this is just... the coolest band ever.

  • the best band ever

  • I miss the white guys in pimp hats 70's look....

  • I imagine all the paparazzi in the front row like 'so who is this Bruce guy and what can his band do?' and then seeing this performance and being like 'oh... .... they're fantastic, i'm going to go home and eat my sock now.'

  • If you watch the born to run documentary, you will see that he had magazine press there. I was actually speaking in favour of the boss, dude you got to get real.

  • @saintlysinner666 Sound negative to me dumb AZZ, U get a life

  • Is that language really necessary? You don't even know me...

  • @tgoslin30. Is english not your first language? It is quite clear that saintly is complimenting Springsteen. You really should ensure you read and reread comments before you get on your high horse

  • !!!!!!WOW!!!!!

  • Sorry The River instead of Magic!

  • You have Born To Run twice!

    My favourite are:

    1. Darkness On The Edge Of Town

    2. Born To Run

    3. Born In The USA

    4.The Rising

    5. Magic

    I'm only 15 btw!

  • no, he meant to put Born to run twice cause its so good it should b counted twice

  • best albums of the boss in this order

    1.Born To Run

2.The Wild, The Innocent and The E- Street Shuffle

    3.The River

    4.Greetings From Asbury Park, NJ

    5.Born To Run

  • To me, Roy Bittan is just the pinnacle of the pianist that I want to be. Bought the cd of this the other day and his piano was just about the only thing coming through the right earphone from my iPod. I ain't complaining. Haha

  • In my opinion, rosalita is his best song.

  • i miss the days when van zandt used to dress like a blaxploitation movie pimp

  • That's the way to present a band!

  • Springsteen has the greatest stage presence out of any musician I've ever seen

  • Best Springsteen albums (my opinion)

    1. The River

    2. Born To Run

    3. Darkness On the Edge Of Town

    4. Born In The USA

    5. The Wild The Innocent The E-street Shuffle

  • @JusRam1

The River better than The E street Shuffle? right

  • You can't have a list without Born to Run not being #1. You could make a list of your favorite ones, but not the best ones. Born to Run is a top 5 Rock and Roll album of all time, 7 out of the 8 tracks are "legendary" tracks that can alone put an artist in the hall of fame.

Anyway, I think Greetings was a better album than the shuffle overall, but Rosalita is one of the best songs Bruce has ever made, and that's something considering the volume of work he's put out.

  • Gotta have Greetings from Ashbury, NJ Park in there too man.

  • Burn it up!

  • awesome performance

where can i get a hat like that?

  • born to run the best album he ever put out man

  • this was off of the wild the innocent the e street shuffle not born to run

  • wow did i hear shaft there at 5:10 !

  • this is excitement!

  • what happened was capitol records did alot of advertising over in the u.k. this was his first concert there. and alot of people over there said Bruce was alot of hype. before the concert. well why i am proud is he blew their doors off. and they later added another concert a little later in the tour. this stuff gives me chills! my main man!

  • @drohegda i no , i meant to say columbia records. my tongue got in front of my eye teeth and could'nt see what i was saying

  • That's because the British historically have had a hard time admitting that anything of value comes out of America!

  • @drohegda

The campaign superimposed Bruce leaning on Bob Dylan's shoulder with the caption 'Is this the future of rock'n'roll' (or was that the NME cover?)...either way, there was a degree of cynicism, and I, for one, went to the Odeon quite prepared to be unimpressed. Some hours later I left convinced I'd seen one of the greatest gigs ever, and I have never had any reason to change my mind. Simply awesome.

  • Here's the scary part - I've only seen him once. Chicago, United Center, 9/20/2009. This was the last song he played, after "Dancing in the Dark". It really didn't sound that much different. Slower, sure, and the Big Man's hurting right now, so he isn't as potent - but it really was hitting home. Not too far from this, in 1975...

  • I love Steve, he's dressed like a cuban gangster

  • Don' t knock the way he plays this today. Very few people on this planet do things the same way at 60 as they did at 26 and frankly it would probably just look sad if they did. He rocked then and he rocks now!!!

  • People, this is1975!! Jesus wept, what i would give to go to a gig like this now!!

  • I would give almost anything except my daughter. Would definitely give her mother up though!

  • this is a great video!!

  • Oh man... this brings back memories. BRUUUUUUCCCCCEEEEE!!!

  • I love Max, christ he wore sunglasses through the entire indoor concert, awesome. Btw Glammer you're videos inspired me to go and buy the recording of the concert, its amazing and was worth the money, can't recommend it enough.

  • noone respond to larryc2321, he's only stirring shit

  • "well etllem ths is his last chance to get his daughter in a fine romance-because the RECORD COMPANY rosie jus gave me a BIG ADVANCE" that is by far one of the coolest lyrics that was ever written 4sure

  • THIS song and its performance at this particular time ('74-'75) remains the very the height of rock and roll.

  • they still perform it pretty well today!

  • pretty well? really well!

  • i'm only here fer fun ;D

  • Rosie, come out tonight

  • Oh, baby..come out tonight.

  • Great teeth!

  • oh my god hes soo cool here!

  • i have to say, when they line up and dance gary tallent is the coolest

  • Nobody's cooler than the Big Man.....Clarence Clemens

  • There's a video where bruce reflectively says that he barely recognises his body language and dress sense in this video! I like this era of Bruce the best though, he just seems so "free"!

  • totally agree. it was like a grungy, poet / free spirit stage

  • the word is "high"

  • nah, not bruce.

  • yeah, he is bruce...

  • i was saying no, i dont think bruce was 'high' in this performance. but he did say on looking back, he didn't recognise stuff he did, or the way he dressed - I'm looking for the interview where he said it - it's a European interview. It's gotta be somewhere...

  • link plz?

  • i'm still looking for the link...

  • yeah, he is so cool

  • sorry the boss in the 70;s rocks and allways will like all the music in the 70's

  • sorry about the language

but i fucking love this era of the BOSS

    come out tonight :-)

  • Nothing cooler than The Boss in the 70's. Period!

  • I just saw Springsteen Aug 19th and Aug 23rd....and to be honest, there's nothing cooler than The Boss in 2009 either!

  • @mebeckwith Nothing cooler than The Boss. Period! :D

  • @mebeckwith I can't say it any better than that! Long live The Boss!

  • Let Rosie Come Out Tonight

  • spread out now Rosie!

  • Saw him in Dublin last Sunday, he was great too, he is the Best rocking machine Ever!

  • 35 years ago and he's still going strong. saw him on sunday in hyde park and he sounds just as great! God Bless the Boss!

  • Clarence! nuff said

  • phenomenal drumming, hard rock calling here i come!!!!

  • greatest piece of music ever!

  • Absolutely off the charts. Wow.

  • where is the footage from is there a DVD of the Hammersmith gig?

  • Yeah, it's on the Born to Run 30th anniversary DVD and probably on other DVDs as well.

  • and dont call me stupid because i know that vini only played on the first two albums and boom carter played on the song born to run then quit...too bad he would have been good...but if he was going for the whole mafia type appeal that is totally apparent in this video then weinberg was the go to guy...but vini was the beat that packed the heat dude

  • To Vanhalenfreak:

Max's kid can hit a drum - saw Bruce and the E Street in Philly in April - and was very impressed with his play.

  • there's only one horn: Clarence.

the back up singers are the other musicians.

  • back when it was a band on the stage not a circus...way too many ppl up there today...they should do a tour of just this lineup...minus danny (r.i.p.) and call me crazy but max slows them down a bit so maybe let max go and do his conan thing and pick up a drummer who captures the vini maddog lopez spirit im sorry everything from the first three albums just seems so much more...bruce before everything else came out...maybe the last thing i feel he did that is close to those is The River...idk?

  • I TOTALLY AGREE! I was a Springsteen fan when it wasn't cool. The last "REAL" album (yes album, not a CD) was the River. The Young, the innocent, and the E-Street Shuffle - one of the best. Bruce became popular when "Dancing n the Dark" came out. I still never had a ticket to see him but all the little teenage girls went wild. I appreciate you comments!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • god, this song rocks every time i listen. It has so much passion. To bad there is no passion in todays music

  • I want to meet Rosie and rock her world

  • Silvio the Pimp!

  • Blasting speaker's here.

    Great audio....

  • Hey mjonesy0007..

Did you see him at the spectrum in philly? Cuz He did it there when I saw him.

Awesome video!! The energy and everything about this performance could not be any more fun and just really good!

There is a reason the record company gave him a big advance..

  • Love the burst of Theme From Shaft at5:09.

  • hands up, guys...this is the E Street Band!

  • they look like some gangster from new york city .... they're sharp dressed, they're bad and they're absolutely cool...and Bruce is their Boss

  • The nuts as fresh today as the day he wrote it 1973 class

  • Pure fuckin' synergy. God i love this band. \m/

  • his voice is so powerful. I want to be able to do that :-)!

  • Brucey you're my stone desire................

  • My machine she's a dud/ I'm stuck in the mud/ Somewhere in the swamps of Jersey

    Yes.

  • That is my favorite lyric on Rosalita!! Right On!!

  • My absolute favourite Springsteen song, never heard him play it live so hoping for it on the 'Working on a Dream' tour. We got 'Kitty' in Belfast 2008 so it's possible!

  • it was the last song he played when I saw him on the "Working on a Dream" tour

  • Can anyone not help but bob their head to this?

  • Thank God we live in the same era Bruce does!!!!

  • Bought this at HMV for £8!! If you're in the UK and don't yet own it, run to the shop!!!

I love this concert. My fave Springsteen era, and how cool is Steve?! It's easy to forget these days what a great guitarist he is as well. What a band...

  • CD or DVD? I can only find the CD..

  • get the 30 anny edition Born to Run, concert and a making of the album dvd come with it, i got it on amazon for lke 15 bucks, great steal

  • I was looking for this video for months and it was well worth it. Bruce live is an amazing thing to see.

  • This video really deserves more views. Amazing.

  • Almost surreal to hear the group play without nearly being drowned out by the deafening cheers - and without Bruce's dramatic introduction of the Big Man. Thanks for posting this - it really adds perspective.

  • Bruce's actually for me what Pope was for Byron...this 'Rosie' keeps on rocking in the free world.

  • great hats!

  • After seeing this performance a million times, I think it might be the best thing... ever.

  • I have to agree. This song together with hard to be a saint in the city, from the same concert, has been on repeat in my room for DAYS. This might be one of the best concerts in the history of mankind... and for me to say something like that... Im speechless...

  • hammersmith the best concert...what an acoustic..thats the boss

  • luv bruce and clarence -- awesome

  • my fav Bruce song before he quit the cool lyrics..................... love Clarence, too.

  • god this is one of my all time favorite songs!

  • Great sound on this clip!! ESB rocking at their bestest and takes me back to first year of university in 1976 - thanks for the memory.

  • That would be rhythm......

  • The best E S B. Little Stevie is not just a rythem guitar. Nor is Bruce............

  • This video was the first time I'd experienced the E Street Band in action, and I was absolutely blown away. Amazing!

  • 4:38 Soprano"s successor. Love the early mystique

  • bring it on band (6:00)

  • The sound is AWSOME. Is it available on dvd!

  • seeeh

  • Thanks Danny.

  • haha Max looks so ridiculous during his mini-solo. He killed it though, Weinberg is a magnificent drummer.

  • he did this at the Emirates last nite, it was gr8

  • I was at the Old Trafford gig, was amazing. Unfortunately some favourites were missed like Sandy and Atlantic City but you can't win them all.

  • the e street band ... bruce.... its love
