I didn't know having a setlist with bands like Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Nickelback, ect. made the game more appealing. I also didn't know that Copy/Paste-ing a game, adding nothing new to the core experience as well as charging an extra $60, was more appealing than new instruments with many more choices for songs and how you play them.
On a more serious note, GH5 couldn't beat The Beatles. Do you honestly expect this to beat RB3?

u obviously don't know anything about the drums. GH DOES have 2 tom-toms & cymbals, but rockband also has 2 tom-toms, not 3 since red is the snare. also, I HAVE played rb's drums, & the cymbals don't change anything! it's still only 4 different notes, & u can just hit the cymbals if u feel like it. the guitars 4 GH r also better because the buttons & strum bar work much better! it makes more sense 2 push down a button on a GH guitar, since rb guitars technically push down the fretboard

Plus, I actually use the solo buttons, unlike that touch strip.

@imjustasubscriber They will. Yellow, Blue and Green toms will retain the retangle shape while Yellow, Blue and Green cymbals will be a more oval shape.
Also, yes the strum noise gets annoying, espiecially when it's time to strum fast and you can't hear the song anymore.

That's a very good question. I didn't think there was more to add. Yet RB3 includes everything it does to prove me wrong. Graphics are nothing to brag about in these games and gameplay will be the same as GH5, not adding or improving anything. It certainly does come down to the music, and for RB3, I counted about 352 good songs compared to GH6's 76. Finally, music games are worse for stories than fighting games. "Musicians seek fame and whores" is all the story it should have

As for the good songs, it's about even. I like about 1/4 of what each series has to offer. It's just that Rock Band has more to offer.
What did Rock Band 2 change that was not already in Rock Band? Oh, that's right. Nothing. And RB3's setlist doesn't hold a candle to GH's. There are maybe ten songs (that were not already in a GH game or two) in it I'd actually play.
Improved gameplay across all instruments, cymbal support for drums, a drum trainer, solo career for bassists, World Tour available for solo players, World Tour available online, Battle of the Bands challenges that continue to be updated to this day, No-Fail mode, better difficulty readings, new song sorting options, ect.

I'm just very tired of a laundry list of pop songs appearing in a very (what used to be great) game. Now we only get a few here and there. The first installment of the game was legendary minus the lack of master recordings. The main reason I play the game is to get the atmosphere, just as I play real guitar I expect the same thing, though hardly get it. A few songs like Younk Funk, and Do You Feel Like I Do? as of recent have hardly done the game justice.
WHY THE FUCK DO THEY KEEP PUTTING SONGS THAT AREN'T GEARED TOWARDS THE GUITAR IN THEIR GAMES!? What they can't get some more black metal in the game? Where's the Sybreed, Threat Signal, Scar Symmetry, Amenta, Stevie Ray Vaughan, the list can go on... My complaint is that its no longer guitar hero... its a rip off of Rock Band now. I want to have fun songs to play again. They really need some new blood deciding the setlist.
@Kotakai There's a lot of songs that are geared towards guitar. Check out Fury of the Storm, Black Widow of La Porte, Unskinny Bop and Sudden Death, all of which are in Guitar Hero 6.
2. I've been playing fretless bass for a year now. I switched from guitar and GH made me want to play guitar in the first place because I love most of the metal songs that were on GH3. So fuck off.
A. ALOT of people who play GH also play real instruments. I play expert guitar frequently, but not nearly as much as I play my drumset.
B. Plenty of people got interested in guitar through GH and now play real guitar because of it. A la rob825.
C. I still play GH to discover new music. GH3 shaped my musical interests. I used to like Dragonforce. GH3 introduced me to AFI, Rise Against, Lostprophets, etc. and got me interested in stuff like The Killers. So think before you comment.
@XTHEGAMERGUYX The reason why you probably dont like rb iz because it sets a softer tone like i think some songs on rb shouldn't have even made it but its what ever genre your into im definitely buying both but in my point of view guitar hero warriors of rock will sell more but rockband 3 has that family/party vibe though because of its setlist (which could be better) and its new features which can play up to 7 or 8 player at one time both of them FTW!!! thumbz up if u like

GH6 WILL b better than rb3 because GH's games r ALWAYS better. & dude, a keyboard? seriously? rb will b 2 difficult & WAY 2 complicated 4 a group game now. I mean, u can't really play frets on these toy guitars, yet that's what rb's doing. we already talked about drums rite? they'll b way 2 hard now. 1 last thing, most of rb3's music has already been in GH games

@imjustasubscriber Well, that last point should be a turn-on for you, shouldn't it? Of course, if you don't count the untransferable songs on GH6, then RB3's used songs go down to about 10.
But isn't it obvious? Yes, RB3 is going to be too difficult because they force you to go on Expert Pro instruments all the time with no option for a different method of play, no lower difficulties and no "No Fail" mode either. Hang on...

That's a very good question. I didn't think there was more to add. Yet RB3 includes everything it does to prove me wrong. Graphics are nothing to brag about in these games and gameplay will be the same as GH5, not adding or improving anything. It certainly does come down to the music, and for RB3, I counted about 352 good songs compared to GH6's 76. Finally, music games are worse for stories than fighting games. "Musicians seek fame and whores" is all the story it should have

@imjustasubscriber Tell me. What are the big differences between this and GH5 gameplay-wise? How does it change the way I play? Does it add anything new? Does it improve any of GH5's flaws?
As for the good songs, it's about even. I like about 1/4 of what each series has to offer. It's just that Rock Band has more to offer.

What did Rock Band 2 change that was not already in Rock Band? Oh, that's right. Nothing. And RB3's setlist doesn't hold a candle to GH's. There are maybe ten songs (that were not already in a GH game or two) in it I'd actually play.

Is it Quickplay+, which is essentially GH5's career mode with most, if not all, the songs already unlocked and flashy powers for the people who like shiny things? Is it Man-Bear-Pigs singing to Fall Out Boy?

@imjustasubscriber Look. I like to play good games. I honestly thought GH5 was pretty good, but I want a game to evolve. I don't want to see the same game again because it'll make it lose the appeal it once had. My biggest problem with GH:WoR is that it does very little to convince me that this isn't GH5: Part 2. I feel like it's just another Smash Hits, minus the same amount of good songs and a bit of extra flash.

@shadowkiller000001 rock band has awful charts, its painfully obvious every time there is a song thats on both games. look at "Almost Easy" if you dont believe me.
secondly, RB is catchin up to GH on the drums by adding the cymbals instead of their lol4samepads4everything that they started with. their guitar engine still sucks nuts with HOPO's and none of the top guitar players like playing on it.
RB->RB2 all they changed was the setlist, GH has at least been trying to innovate

@RyanDahlReturns the RB engine does suck, thats why none of the top guitarists bother playing it. the only reason a lot of the best drummers play it is because they like all the DLC available, most will tell you that the GH drums are more fun and realistic.

I'm just very tired of a laundry list of pop songs appearing in a very (what used to be great) game. Now we only get a few here and there. The first installment of the game was legendary minus the lack of master recordings. The main reason I play the game is to get the atmosphere, just as I play real guitar I expect the same thing, though hardly get it. A few songs like Younk Funk, and Do You Feel Like I Do? as of recent have hardly done the game justice.

WHY THE FUCK DO THEY KEEP PUTTING SONGS THAT AREN'T GEARED TOWARDS THE GUITAR IN THEIR GAMES!? What they can't get some more black metal in the game? Where's the Sybreed, Threat Signal, Scar Symmetry, Amenta, Stevie Ray Vaughan, the list can go on... My complaint is that its no longer guitar hero... its a rip off of Rock Band now. I want to have fun songs to play again. They really need some new blood deciding the setlist.

@Kotakai There's a lot of songs that are geared towards guitar. Check out Fury of the Storm, Black Widow of La Porte, Unskinny Bop and Sudden Death, all of which are in Guitar Hero 6.

A. ALOT of people who play GH also play real instruments. I play expert guitar frequently, but not nearly as much as I play my drumset.
B. Plenty of people got interested in guitar through GH and now play real guitar because of it. A la rob825.
C. I still play GH to discover new music. GH3 shaped my musical interests. I used to like Dragonforce. GH3 introduced me to AFI, Rise Against, Lostprophets, etc. and got me interested in stuff like The Killers. So think before you comment.
