Very informative.. Helps a lot thanks bro.. BTW, can you give me some recommendations for some good guides that I can get, I'm new to linux/Ubuntu and I'd like to learn basics to advance topics on it.. Thanks!
@xBlankz025 - For Ubuntu, try to buy a resource book online or in big book stores. All stuff here I just read in an Ubuntu book. The basics and command lines are all there already.
@xBlankz025 - I used Ubuntu Unleashed 7.04 Sams Publishing House, it's quite old, but it's still useful, I still refer to it every now and then. But if you want you can also print online.
It really depends on what you want to learn, in my opinion, they're all good, just look at the table of contents before buying. If you think you're gonna need to things in the book then you should go for it. Buy a used book as they're cheaper. :)
@BugsVHumans Thanks a lot bro.. I happend to find some good resources on the net and I think I'll just stick with it, I'd like to learn more with the CLI, like moving around using the CLI only. Anyway, just like to ask also if you have any idea on how can I hide my network workstations, like creating a proxy that could hide the devices that are connected beneath it. Thanks.
@lordofsraam - hey, what do you mean if the server wont recognize the second nic, is it broken? not installed with drivers & modules? not compatible? not supported? What OS are you using?
@BugsVHumans thanks but i have already learn c++ basics , java full and html and i learned about the proxy sql and bunch of others i have like 9 servers in 1 machine insane ! but they run well thanks for not letting me down m8 : ) be sure 2 SUB
@akirelikelirva9 - I'm not a Linux expert! I don't even know what /proc does! hehe. No, seriously, buy a good book man, this SQUID I read from a book, and if you can download some video tutorials on the whole Linux OS, it will keep your confidence in the command line high. :) and will get basic grasp of what Linux is.
Also, commit to using Linux from now on, I have a Windows Vista laptop I converted to Ubuntu, and I'm more productive than ever!
@TonThonFraisdEau - Hey thanks for the compliment, I just used recordmydesktop and edited the whole thing using cinelerra, I specially like the tutorials of vaasnaad - he explains everything how to do these things. :)

why did you make the DNS name server the IP of the router?
mhartley2008 1 year ago
@mhartley2008 - Yes, basically, the DNS name server is the one that resolves the numerical 289.25.13.1 to alphabetical youtube dot com.
You can specify a public DNS name server if you want, like OpenDNS.

How can your wan ip adres be a rfc1918 adress?
pcuser80 1 year ago
@pcuser80 - I'm not really sure what you mean, I'm just using the default IP given by my router and copying from there.
