@gaymuhamad Actually, I was thinking the same thing... why go Mutas against Goliath, and why not go Valks against the Mutas?

However, SC1 doesn't have as many hard hard counters like SC2 does. Mutas can basically win you the game without even engaging the enemy's army if you micro right.

And Valkyries would have been a good idea, but Yellow can easily transition to Hydras. If he made a lot of Valkyries, theyd become useless, and Mutas can actually kill Valks fast.

Despite being the best player ever, his record was only like 500-300 or something like that. so although he won most of his sets, it wasn't uncommon for him to lose an individual game.

nah not a good game i think.against muta goliath is useless.they gave a big damage to terrans economy.and why insist on goliaths?valkyries are expensive but may be irrate or something fast at least

if there are enough valkyries, scourges become useless, especially against accomplished players like boxer.

Wow thougth the muta would have bein slaterd. but since boxer was kept on the back foot and Yellow had map controll he could just use the muta's speed to his advantage. i think that if boxer had just gone for the attack on yellow's main i think he could of won. This is all IMO.

yellow had like 5 expansions and boxer was struggling to just hold onto his 3. goliaths werent exactly a bad thing to do but with 2x the resources, yellow just overwelmed boxer. and y didnt boxer even try to scout out yellow? just my opinion anyways

yellow played smart... mutalisk > goliaths in numbers... plus the fact the map is really big and the expantions are further from the main.. it was hard for boxer to defend his main .. that was awsome :)

boxers using different strats. He used to use dropships marines tanks and vessels. Now hes massing goliaths. I liked his older strat.

Massing Goliaths was really the smart thing to do this game though. That way, he coul have some air-killers against the Multas. If he would have used marines, tanks, and medics this game, he would have died much sooner.

Probably kept mutas purely for mobility. Hit and run tactics makes it hard for anyone to keep up.

Mass muta is the counter to terran mech, as long as you can get enough gas to support it (which yellow did with 3 hidden gas expos), he can continue to abuse muta's mobility.

Exactly. Boxer apparently thought he could outmass YellOw with gols because YellOw couldn't fast expand. The only thing terran can do after mass gol vs. mut is valkyires which cost so many minerals that zerg can just switch to mass hydra or irradiate which I've never played against but I'm guessing 2 gas can't support it.

lol gols are explosive dmg, so are mts, so the best counter gainst mutas for terran is still gols mixed with marines and medics.

The matches of SlayerS_`BoxeR` and YellOw were of course more special and entertaining...they were really 5 awesome matches...not only 3 fast ones...thats why he losed fast against Savior...SlayerS_`BoxeR` wanted to give a 100% vs YellOw...SlayerS_`BoxeR` and YellOw gave an also great final match in the WCG 2002...this Superfight match will be remembered by all SlayerS_`BoxeR` fans as one of the greatest of his career...this is indeed an awesome finale...

that was really weird seeing boxer pushed back like that... he did well moving the SCV into the base to keep 'em busy, but it's weird he didn't follow up with a marine/firebat/medic rush...

in the few vids I've seen, I've never seen Boxer get pushed back... it was definitely a good game, best of luck to him

Looks weird that terran loses to mutas by doing nothing else than goliaths the whole game. Some more experienced VOD watcher could reveal if this is possibly map balance issue or was mass goliath not the best counter for zerg mass air in these circumstances?

goliaths only do half damage to mutas anyway because of their light armor...i think boxer would've been better off with marines and valks and fewer goliaths.
