ive listened to AFI my hole life, but it was always rare to find any one my age (around 16) who also listens to AFI untill there new album Crash Love came and now anyone thats into rock listens to them which is F in AWESOME! BUUUUT they dont listen to there old albums or even ever heard of some of there older songs which SUX DICK and pisses me off. stupid people >:l

We should take the positives of religion, and use them, instead of using them to hate people who are different.

He makes so much sense, and he was right about everything in this interview.

I believe that he means well in sharing his own philosophical views but the world is full of competing ideas between humans. If one wins out against the other ideology this in itself a violent act against another outlook on life.

it becomes the easiest of things to criticise one world outlook but fail to realize that we are all slaves to our own forms of fiction which we transform into practices of life.

Perhaps I am not clearly connecting Davey's ideas though. If so I apologize.

Perhaps i'm not giving Davey his due but his own outlook seems to be in colaberation with that of Christian outlook in regards to how the mind reconciles itself to the preconditions of exsitance. Davey makes it seem as if their was a time when all men and animal lived in a peacefull harmonious world together and then their was a fall,and exodus of Eden,thus we now drive SUV's and eat red meat. This was the same criticism michael Crichton gave of enviromentlism for it pseudo- science with religin

As i've mentioned before I love AFI but I believe he should also use his own idea's that he give around 3:45. His views on organized religion I feel are given with good merit yet he seems to completely bypass the mythic dimension that religion attempts to concretize. Our own western religious outlook attempts to correct nature by claiming it's fallen after Adam and Eve. Davey seems to jump between the realm of correction and stepping out of the picture completely. (buddhism)

I agree with DefBrif. It's true. And well, Davey is god for me, I love him, but that does not mean that I have to be acopy of him. He is special and would be stupid to imitate him, 'cause we'll never be as great as him. Only Hermann Hesse was as great as him. And I'm sure he dosen't want anybody to copy who he is, he wants us to be ourselves and to express ourselves, to create and to USE CRITICAL THINKING, just like he said.

Way to misinterpret it. He said choose HOW you love, not who or when you love. A person can certainly choose to lead a gay/straight lifestyle. I've met a lot of people who choose to lead a gay lifestyle. That's how they described it to me. No they don't choose what sex they are attracted to, but they do choose how they go about representing that attraction. No matter if they "choose" anything, they have a right to love whomever they do. No one should be able to take that away from anyone. No matter how many people get together once a week to compare clothing and pretend to understand an old babbling guy reading a children book.

What if you were born in a gay community? What if you were born into a strong christian family? These factors can heavily influence you and your idea's on sexuality. Scientifically, you can be born liking the same sex. That doesn't mean you can't explore your sexuality on your own.

A lot of people love the person they do because of who they are, not what sex they are.
