  • are those original ceriatone tranformers???

    thanks

  • All transformers are original ceriatone, the choke also. The mainboard is also stock ceriatone with stock components:)

  • I'm stuck between this amp and the 36 watt ef36. Any opinions?

  • It's a difficult choise to make. The 2204 needs higher volume then the 36 watt before you'll get powertube saturation, but when you get there it's hard to beat it for classic rock tones. On the other hand, the 36 watt may be a better choise if you're not able to play as loud as you wish since it distort more easy. The 36 watt will sound fat at mid and high volume, and the 2204 will not sound that fat at mid volume, but extremly fat at high volume, and more punchy in the low end.

  • Thanks for your opinion. I think I'm going to have to email Nik to get his opinion as well in order to make a final decision.

  • Any time:) . Nik is great:) . Another good option for great early AC/DC tone is the JTM45, I am not familare to it, but i think it's the amp they used in the early aera.

  • Actually, Angus used a JMP50 master volume amp on every album up to The Razor's Edge. Lots of people associate him with the JTM45, but he only used it on 2 albums!

  • Oh, sorry, I didn't know. Thanks for info :)

  • Hah no problem. That's one more person that knows now! oh and the early JCM800s are the same amp as the JMPs. Just a little more triva

  • I thought Angus used the 1987 and 1959 , and occasionally used the JTM45.

I didn't know he primary used the MKII.... :)

  • ? The MKIIs are plexis.

  • Master Model 50w Mk 2. Lead (2204) :)

  • hah well now you taught me something!

  • That's ok:) You taught me alot too, and Angus got a huge great tone in his amps and fingers, that's for sure:) . And for his tone I think maybe a 2204 is a good choise, it's a punchy amp with edgy lead tones and rich & fat powercords that really kicks...... :):)

  • heh yeah thats why im looking into these amps

  • I really like this sound! Great!

  • Thanks:)

  • How do you rate the sound of the Ceriatone 2204 compared to a "real" Marshall 2204?

  • I find the Ceriatone a bit thicker at low volume. They both become extremly much fatter as you turn up the mastervolume, at high volume they sound more simular to eachother. But I think the Ceriatone seperates the strings better, someway more harmonic, and it gives a bit more sustain too.

  • Kanon Trond. Rå gitar:)
