Sometimes even in our dreams, we have hallucinations. When we are awake, the hallucination appears true. U must have seen some sci-fi movie or something scary which the brain used to create the hallucination. As for u being paralyzed, often when we r scared, even in our dreams our muscles tighten up . example- if in a dream we r falling of a cliff, we can actually feel the pressure and excitement and when we get up we actually feel it happened.
