The Gaslight Anthem are new to my ears and so refreshing. I have been turning people on to them as often as possible and my description often includes them as being a combination Tom Petty and the Heart Breakers meet Green Day.

Oh For Sure but only that part of Bruce that includes the Hungry heart, Loose Ends, Be True type of vibe. It is pop melody Bruce that they remind off. Lyrically and thematically, they have a ways to go, but are on the right track for sure.

brian fallon plays his music with such a passion even if its just a cover he lays it as if it was his own thats wat i respect in musicians is if they generaly like to play not that sell out shit thats happened to many bands

I saw them a few weeks ago. They opened up for Thrice, Alkaline Trio, and Rise against. Their performance absolutely blew me away. Very much a Bruce Springsteen feel. I was shocked. Bought all their cds.

yea i saw that tour also, i felt like gaslight anthem should of been 2nd to last band, and alklaine trio the headliner...but thats just me. and yes you do get the bruce feel, how brian will just start singing some old blues in the slower parts of songs.

It's sort of sad that TGA is forced to open for bands like Rise Against.

Why is it sad? They chose to support them on that tour. And, sure Rise Against is terrible, but it opens them up to a huge and quite diverse audience. I'm quite proud of how far this band has come, and they still sound pretty similar to the way the did in the beginning.
