And considering that 1. marriage is and always has been a **lawfully binding contract** first (even prior to Christianity and Judaism) and 2. religious institutions have always considered women to be inferior pawns, rather then an equally important partner, I find it laughable that now all of a sudden marriage is a "sacred institution."

This is insane! I live in the Netherlands, and same-sex marriages are legal here since 2001. For me the United States are awesome and it's huge compared to the Netherlands, so how is it possible that such a small country like the Netherlands has accepted same-sex marriages and has accepted people who are in love with somebody who has the same gender as they do, while the US hasn't. And considering that 1. marriage is and always has been a **lawfully binding contract** first (even prior to Christianity and Judaism) and 2. religious institutions have always considered women to be inferior pawns, rather then an equally important partner, I find it laughable that now all of a sudden marriage is a "sacred institution."

I suggest they come to the Netherlands, the first country on earth to legalize same-sex marriage. Hasn't caused any problems here whatsoever. Kids raised by 2 loving parents are fine, with 2 daddy's, 2 mommy's or whatever. As long as they're loved they will do fine. marriage IS between a man and a woman. Just like they used to say so many other things were. They're acting as if they can't change for anything in the world. Just fucking change it. Who gives a fuck. Humans made the definition, humans can edit it too. I don't get what the big fuss is and how they think they're so right just because they state the definition of marriage that THEY their selves made up, which THEY their selves can also change.

This is insane! I live in the Netherlands, and same-sex marriages are legal here since 2001. For me the United States are awesome and it's huge compared to the Netherlands, so how is it possible that such a small country like the Netherlands has accepted same-sex marriages and has accepted people who are in love with somebody who has the same gender as they do, while the US hasn't. This is one crazy world. We live in 2011, and people are gay for ages and they always will be, so just accept it!
