Very interesting. The first thing I thought was "how is it so clean?" Normally these places do not have shiny floors, and there's a thin dust layer. Then, I saw the nice lady cleaning.
But yes. This IS about loneliness, as much as anything. I love and NEED physical contact. Lucky for me, I'm a giant blond bodybuilder, and everybody loves to hug me. But If the muscles (and the hair) were to go, & I was alone...I could easily become a hoarder.
This is just a symptom of another issue, or the manifestation of a deep sadness, or loneliness.
We each deal with stress, or loneliness in different ways. Some people drink, some do drugs, some overeat, some hoard.
Loneliness is difficult to deal with. My parents have been giving to the community for a long time, and to their family, but within that they let their own home go. Anyone working with the public needs to have help at home.
Wow! This is NOT funny nor is it something to make rude remarks about. His/her grandmother has a problem. So many people deal with this daily. It is a very sad thing. I hope your grandmother can get help with hoarding. :-(
I WATCH THIS VIDEO EVERY DAY AND LAUGH, BECAUSE I'M A DIK.

The family obviously wasn't keeping a close eye on grandma and the house got that bad.
