Other than that, watch your belongings at all times and make use of the proper CAB services (not 'Taxi'; here in SA there is a BIG difference) for transportation....

@0MGitZCHAZ crime is less in cape town yes..but if you know johannesburg well enough (or at least am not too naive) its just as safe in specific suburbs. Cape Town also has its own unsafe areas.
