As much as like the building, there isn't really a practical use for it.
Look at the surrounding buildings, which are only an eighth of its height. The demand cannot be that high for one building in such a short period of time. I know Dubai is growing at an astounding rate, but demand for this building wont come around for another three decades or so.
This building is being built for record purposes only. But may serve use in the future.

I think this is good enough to prove what he - Peace be upon him - is true and we have to look at ourselves before it's too late.

awesome vid..i didnt see burj dubai for two months,nor pics nor live..
i saw this with glass and all and i was like GOSH!!..i was like TOTALLY shocked!!...
and dubai mall is opening on aug 28 this year and it scared me,i know it sounds silly but it did..it scared my why its happening so fast..:(

The buildings around it look like tiny but its deceaving they are actualy super giant. The tower of dubai is just so big! I love that place!
