SO..to all those idiots out there who think the 924/944 is not a real Porsche...if Mr Bell choose one as his personal car way back in the early 80s....it must be! I have had 8 or 9 924/944 variants and still have mine form 26 yrs ago- despite having many other cars and 911 etc...well either you "get" the car or you do not - its about all round balance and abilty- not scary thrills like a 911

I remember "back in the day" when sportscarracing and group B was around.Sportscar C1 was not much more than a F1 with a body and group B was,well,it was group B.SPECTACULAR.And Derek Bell and Stefan Belhof (R.I.P) were THE sportscardrivers 2 look out 4.And just 2 brag a LITTLE BIT i bought a 86 mod. 911carrera last autumn,and can`t WAIT for the snow 2 get the F outta here.Red,mint condition,fuchs-wheels,cream leather interior,and it`s just SWEEEET:-D Happy happy:-)

Porsche just topped Ferrari and anyone else in the world with the quickest road legal production car ever. The GT2 RS is faster than the Enzo and 458. 0-60 in 2.7 seconds, 212 MPH and fastest 1/4 mile and street start times as well AND the best braking. Nothing even close. Set the Nurburgring lap record as well with a 6 cylinder.

I really like 911s. I think they are the best sports cars ever. After all, they've one almost every comparison with other sports cars in every magazine I've read. But, I don't love them enough to pay 200 grand for one over a Gallardo LP560 or 458 Italia. Porsche builds great sports cars, but I'm not really loyal to their super cars.

Great to see Derek Bell driving the two great Porsches. He gives some insightful comments while driving the 73' RS. Derek Bell is a class act all around and a legendary race car driver. Seems like a guy you could be buddies with go racing and have a beer.

It's nice to hear the GT2 getting some praise for once and to see the extra concentration required from such an experienced driver really shows the pace the car is capable of. Excellent. I love the way Derek describes cars as he's driving them. He would make a good TV journalist/tester even today.

Had a 968cs and 964rs. Both amazing cars, but driving on the road you can never give the rs the beans because the roads are so poor in the UK. The 968cs was an absolute gokart. The 964rs was modified by RUF (330bhp) truly staggering but not practical with a small family :-)

To me Porsche 911 Carrera (Carrera S ad more...), are a beatiful and fascinous cars, ever building in the world. I'm italian, and ofcourse love Ferrari. But only F1 Ferrari, beaoucose Ferrari road cars, are to much aggressive, and so hard. Porsche you can drive in city, like a FIAT 500 or on circuit as a very sportive and fast car. PORSCHE: SIMPLY A DREAM.

lol i pushed dads 944 s2 turbo cabrolet up the street the other day, with two mates haha i was late to the party. Its still a beautiful car, its so raw and although mum has a new tt i think i would prefer to drive the 944, although not as good looking n the performance is the same, its a passion that i have for the car and the fact its a porsche that gives it a soul and personality, and any porsche is a great thing no matter what it is and the price.

Well read Walter Roehrl's biography - he drove it in 2 races and calls it "virtually undrivable" and "the worst Porsche he's ever driven". And that man is Porsche's chief test driver. So sorry if I credit his opinion a bit more than yours. Quite apart from the fact that I think if you are Derek Bell Porsche ought to have given you a 917 or at least a proper 935. Not a 4-cylinder hoover...

Derek Bell is one of the best all around drivers in the world. I saw him in action at the Rennsport Reunion III Daytona November 2007. He was driving a 962 for an exhibition race. He was cordial,charming,humble and very funny.I saw him driving at Sebring and Daytona in the late 70s,80s and 90s. It is hard to believe at his age (mid 60s) he was bouncing around the paddock like a teenager! He is truly a world class driver and an excellent ambassador for Porsche and racing in general.Go Mr.Bell!!
