  • Haha top man, spicing up the airwaves :)

  • what people who advocate this behaviour and say switch off if you don't like it,don't understand ,they knew rules before gaining their license.did this idiot pass all exams if he knew this behaviour would land him in trouble, maybe all those in agreement with this idiot who are licensed hams should ask themselves why they bothered, perhaps cb might have been a better option!! sorry if i upset any cb'ers who probably conduct themselves with more panache than this saddo

  • Proper Amateur radio operators know the code of conduct on Amateur radio. Broadcasting over unauthorized radio frequencies is a crime and should be dealt with as such. If you sign the license then you agree to follow the rules. He was wrong and he could have caused a distress call not to have been heard.

  • your such a sad git, and selfish too

  • F+*k me Brian, an analogue Transceiver. cut the poor sod a bit of slack.

  • he was a dick head

  • I had a scanner receiver around that time and while it was amusing to listen to, it definitely caused a lot of offence and this guy knew it. Yep, some amateurs used to have an inflated sense of self-importance, or think their hobby was something like being in the army, and the LPWS people decided it was fun to get a rise out of the ones who felt like that. It was always going to end the way it did though.

  • Radio is a privilege. When we transmit we are representing our fellow people, or our country. Self respect and honor is crucial. Just like it is here, in this forum. We should use our best manners, or our fellow countrymen are betrayed by us. Gross negligence here, or radio, should be considered an act of treason.

  • @N0rthwestRadio never seen such a written load of drivel b4

  • Had a repeater jammer here around 1990. When he was done jamming he'd use the repeater to dial 911. When the FCC did nothing the local clubs joined up to find him and beat the crap out of him. He moved about 30 miles away and finally got busted for making false "Officer needs assistance" calls on the local police radio.

  • exactly, shud be able to say what ever we want! FCC is the biggest croc ever! charging mother fuckers to use radio stations, all the fucking FEES, fuck that, free radio, the FCC can lick my asshole,

  • ham radio rules in I think the guy who did this should be fined in jailed even more

    ps shouldn't be over looked

  • You should be able to say whatever the fuck you want on the radio

  • yep that's what I believe in am a ham in a pretty good one in shall do ham radio intill the day I can't breath aka dead

  • @ar15guru absolutely, now please foad

  • GOOD, lol have fun, fuck the ham radio nazis

  • why are we nazis just because we don't like people who curse on the air if people would have enough respect on the air their might be less rules in that in we obey them because we enjoy the hobbie in all the things we can do in alot of them you can't just turn a radio on in talk get a life man

  • Pity is wasn't that guy for Amersham! G7ERX

  • Hi fine was so big because he made a mint - if he was jobless it would have been £95.

What I don't get is why someone would put all that effort into getting a licence (Class A I'm assuming he was) only to throw it away.

  • @lauren69er Not true. I was 18 back in 1990 when the DTI raided my Pirate radio station. At court as well as all equipment being confiscated I was also fined £1000 (one thousand pounds) and that was a lot of money in 1990 for an 18 year old who didn't work.

But I do belive the old way of the DTI was far better than the current Ofcom are are too soft and most of the time don't act on complaints. The DTI were very tough and done the job. I learned my lesson aged 18.

  • I remember him from a while back, he was far from funny, maybe the first few minutes was vaguely amusing but you do get bored with the same old stuff time and time again. I don't believe his intention was to entertain, he just enjoyed irritating people.

  • well what a idoit nothing wrong with hams in the uk at all

  • typical of an m3, all mouth, no conversation skills.

should have been sterilized at conception

the hobby went down the pan when they let the bloody b class operators on, then they started up the M calls.

    from a G3

    don't like it ?? SWITCH OFF>

    73,

    Donald g3+3

    you lot started it...........

  • because of lamebrain jealousy and dropping people in it, the hobby is going down the pan. I never use my callsign when im on the air, so what, im still on 24/7 all bands , all modes and F**k ofcom and the small minded bigots, if they dont like it, theres always the OFF switch,

    sodya,

    Charles.

  • What a waste of public money. Ham radio in the UK is now dead because of over regulation. This guy was just having a bit of fun. No one was forced to listen to him.

  • On the contrary. By jamming a repeater, effectively a large portion of users WERE forced off the air by him, if simplex wasn't an option to them.

  • He's as mad as a bike!

  • That's steep!

  • £9,500, should have been £95,000

  • Yeah and he should have had his anorak confiscated.
