  • I just love the sound of the APT's horn!

  • the Rev. Wilbert Awdry, creator of Thomas the tank engine, at 4:41

  • That APT is pretty damn cool!

  • The APT was sabotaged by the fitters cause they never wanted it to work, otherwise it was brilliant. As for Flying Scotsman last I heard was shes in pieces somewhere awaiting for funding to put her back together.

  • @ianbillericay actually the Flying Scotsman is back together and is at the national railway museum in York.I believe it even powered a few mainline trips this past summer.

  • 3:03 'the beginning of mob violence as we seek to die'...these sub titles are scary

  • The problem with the APT was it was built by talented engineers who decided to invest their career's in a British nationalised industry.

  • the subs on this are like the worst ever done lol

  • what a knob he is about the APT " we had to hide it for 10 yrs as part of our agreement " it was over the electric depot at Crewe for only 2.5 yrs then bought over to the Heritage centre for public display in 1990 !!.....and it wasn't his either lol

  • What's with the meaningless subtitles?

  • ... so the next time you spot some hippy humping a whale or Soros humping

hisself... Tell 'em thanx for killing-off the industries which supported these great machines and the decent-paying jobs which once supported decent people and their families.

  • lol 3:38 subtitles "the answer was to build a train with he reaches for to on the bed"

  • i think pete shoud grab an hst

  • Hope he doesnt fuck up the APT like he did 80s music.

  • What was wrong with owning the Flying Scottsman???

  • Pete, get the Co Bo WORKING. Want to hear what it sounds like!

  • @UKkid19 mwhahahhahaha, it so fucking funny, it understands the yank english but struggles to translate the english english. goooooogloool

  • @z00h i thought he was taking the piss

  • lol 3:02 subtitles: "the beginning of mob violence as we seek to die"

  • absolutely a fab documentary although its a shame the APT will not return on the mainline

  • APT trains is amazing like a virgin trains & Hull train also. Might be restore or not???

  • i think it was withdrawn because the tilting mecanisum was operated by the driver

  • Its one of those automated translators , it cannot recognize regional accents so just puts in random words,at 3.01 to 3.04 Pete says "And er,this really was the beginning of modern railways we see today" the translator wrote "Honda really was the beginning of mob violence as we seek to die!! " not sure what the president of Honda would make of that, hilarious stuff!!! ,if you listen word for word you can see how the translator would have come up with those words. lol

  • Lmao subtitles are a crack up!

  • @MrPhilk77 i was wetting myself the voiceover man keeps refering to him as "waterman" as if that is his first name lol ! i do not know where the subtitles came from probably a foreign interpretor lol !

  • @MrJames27011 i reckon you could be right, was just funny to read it didn't make sense but dam was funny!

  • Hear, hear I agree with timsarmchair and 20PhantoM07!!

  • excuse me but the flying scotsmen nearly bankrupt the LNER,BR and pete watermen its a piece of shit

  • @doomsday, well put it like this, he isnt a very nice chap to know, i cant say more than that, has for him lieing, the APT set that is now at Crewe was withdrawn in 1986 and stored at crewe electric depot until 1990 when it was moved to the Heritage centre for public display. Now how he can say " he had to hide it for 10 yrs " is utter b*****ks. If that was the case he would of had to "hide " it before it even made its public debut in 1981 !. The bloke is a idiot !

  • @ithewonder i totally agree! what was wrong with the apts enyway?

  • Hes a lying idiot, the APT was withdrawn completly in 1986 and moved to the heritage centre in 1990, so how the hell did he hide it for 10yrs !!! ,when it went to a public heritage centre. The knobhead makes my blood boil !!

  • @ithewonder

    Why don't you like him.

    And why would he lie?

  • That closed caption is totally wrong and completely not needed.

  • wtf are these shitty subtitles?? :D

  • @angrycartman at 3:01 it says "The begginning of mob violence as we seek to die" XD

  • apt owns

  • 3.04: "The beginning of mob violence as we seek to die", words I never thought I would hear from Pete Waterman!

  • this waterman bloke has never owned, or will never own the APT, it was given to the crewe heritage centres trustees, not him personally. the blokes an idiot !

  • Whoever did these closed captions doesn't understand the english accent!

  • @mrK163 I know!

  • wish i had Waterman's collection but i would have no where to store/run any equipment

  • Comment removed

  • sorry guys but he never owned it... it was given to CreweHeritigeCentreTrust.ltd

  • hi tich

  • Shame about the APT. It truly had potential thats for sure

  • 0:05 yeh ownd it and ruend it

  • Another £10 or £20,000 and the Dream could have been Reality!! The APT-S could have been born, but due to the Political hostility towards the railways, this was not to be.

Great vid!! I love the APT!!

  • Anyone get the number of the Deltic at 4:47? Beast!!

  • Pete Waterman still alive? what he doing now??

  • not paying his rent at the crewe heritage center ...i work on that site and will tell you two things he dose not own the apt ....and with all his money he won't pay a £30,000 a year rent to keep his engineering works.....

he tells people he owns it... he is lying i work on the apt..... any want to know anything about the apt ask

  • he used to own it until he gave it to the CHIN!

  • your a center member!!!

  • WHAT IM NOT YA KNOW?

  • Any chance of it runing again - at 155mph. What a mistake to quit on its development, when it was so close to success! Someone should apologise for the decision!

  • nope, not a hope in hell

  • lol yeah still alive. Still the same stuff I think.

  • thanks a lot for this video!!!

  • listen to that Class 370 tone!

  • Come on Pete, restore that APT and get her going on mainline trips, even if they are railtours.

  • gr8 idea, i'll go on it!

  • @timsarmchair I 2nd that!!

  • @timsarmchair noooo it cost too much2222

  • :( shame, awesome looking thing the APT Bring her back I say!

  • Yes. That shot of it crusing off into the distance at 3:59. Awesome!

  • Yes Mr Waterman runs a rail freight company employing 95 men as well as his pop star empire.

  • Oh dear! Legend Meets Legend at 4:35

4472 Flying Scotsman and a Class 55 Deltic

  • got to go with the Deltc, they look powerful and when they go, they certainly go

  • Who knew that Pete Waterman from Pop Idol, had a love for trains? Go figure.
