My father trained with Sensei Nishiyama back in the 60s and early 70s. He got his black belt First dan from Master Nishiyama. He spoke about his harsh training. My father go ill last year with Pacrianic Cancer. I took him to see Sensei Nishiyama in July 08 at his same dojo on Olympic Blvd. It brough joy to my father. He passed in Sept 03, 2008. Two months later Master Nishiyama passed. I was glad I got to meet Sensei Nishiyama and brought back great memories for my father.

The karateka at the end of the video "with the great punches" is Avi Rokah, one of Nishiyama's top students.

That's Gichin Funakoshi (grey hair) in the first 5-14 seconds and is the founder of Shotokan karate. Hideteka Nishiyama is in the first 2 seconds and most of the video showing him young and old. He was there for every one of my tests....from 8th Kyu to 1st Kyu. He would "glide" around the dojo!
