The collective guilt the German people faced came from Stalin, and the Western allies. Do you know what they did to people in Western Europe who had a German friend, spouse? The Trotskyists were the only ones who stood against the expulsions and collective guilt of the German masses. Actually, Eastern Europe welcomed the new system free of capitalists after seeing their "democracies" either run to England like cowards, or embracing the Nazis. Unforuntately Stalinism took over.
