@xcepttionel I say the squire because 1. Thats the one you see him play all his live shows with. 2. Its the first design and model that they came up with. 3. Its really slick and thats why you see him with it in all his videos and cd covers.

Basically you will get John 5 versatile sound with it, but the other exspensive FENDER ones are really his differnt sounds. You could hear differnces in the guitars on Rob's cds with John.

@IWannaGetWylde Doesnt the squire 1 has diffrent pick ups then his prototype model, and the blacklabel is said to be the best but you cant find one in shops in europe. :(

@xcepttionel His Prototype was just to his specifics and then released on the market as a squire. The differnce is, for the pickups in his squire model he had a specific sound he wanted for them. His prototype has D-Activator Dimarzio pickups placed in because those are his usual pickups in his other guitars. Zakk Wylde to EMG and John 5 to Dimarzio. The only differnce mate is the sound but he even said himself he loves playing his squire model more.

@ephiphone35  He isnt playing the squier it's his prototype fender model. He took out the single coil in the neck and made it a dual humbucker. It may be the amp you're playing thats making it too bright but I have D'addario strings on mine (same strings john uses but I have an 11 set and he plays a 9 set) I play through an orange amp and its not overly bright.

This song is actually cover. I encourage you to watch the versions from Hank Garland and also Junior Brown, they are also both excellent IMO (in their own kind).
