omg this is so awesome! at the start of the video i was like thinking "those are nice earrings you have there" but i don't play guitar. oh well, i still think this is so cool. haha
woohoo, Elixir gauge 0.12 , not sure which kind i'm using, i'm using the anti-rust acoustic strings, it's amazing, it can last me up to year before it finally snaps.
Pretty cool, never thought there was a use for used guitar strings. I used to use Dean Markley (can't remember if that's how it was spelled, it was a looooong time ago) Super Slinky 9s and I used to boil them before using them, it was supposed to prevent stretching? I don't know if that actually worked or not.....lol.
@MrMax89 i feel the boiling method makes more sense with bass strings than guitar strings. have never tried it but i figure it would make the guitar strings more brittle. i'm sure it will get rid of the gunk but i'm sure it would do other things to the strings too.
especially cause singapore's water is high in minerals such as calcium and fluorine.
awesome stuff! I wonder how manufacturers "recycle" disposed wood parts of the guitars? hmm.
turning strings into jewelry is damn creative!
