  • Ain't it "quietly" ?

  • thank you :)99

  • I can see you are enjoying universe that most people miss. Plus, I genuinely like your choice of music in your videos.

  • how did that lil gold balloon nearly move me to tears?aw

  • Good Vid!

  • That was beautiful.

Thank you for making this and I will be wishing you well.

  • wonderful!

  • Amazing you found a moment with this little yellow, with your camera, the integrity of what you found/saw, means so much more than trying to restage it. To me, balloons are always so real, alive. I remember one saying hello at an elevator once, I felt so honored, that moment.

  • a little bit too close to home

(if ya know what i mean)

........ but a great metaphor just the same

  • i recalled "american beauty" movie, there's a small piece that looks just like this, i think they said it was god's breath recorded on video...thanks for going for it :)

  • Glad it made it safely home without a scratch or a "pop".

This reminds me of an old foreign film I watched a long time ago. Was it called "The Red Balloon".....I can't remember the title. It was in black and white.

Wonderful video, you utilized the moment beautifully.

  • Such a nice video. It said so much by saying so little.

  • Very nicely executed... Most eloquent

  • So simple, yet tells so much. Enjoyable.

  • i must have been home when you uploaded this and never saw it, which is a great thing because right now was a perfect moment to see this!

thoughtful and provoking; the balloon danced in place of you!

    i dig you, ECO

  • i do like it and i'm glad you caught it on video ... xoxo

  • yay!

  • Floaty nice....reminds me of the plastic bag in American Beauty, do you think they're related or recycled? lol :OX

  • thank you artsoul68! I think they are metaphorically related. :)

  • Oh man. That was tense. ...kept thinkin' the little rubbery fellow would get clobbered by a passing car.

What does that say about me..? lol

This reminds me of the bag in American Beauty, but it's even more poetic.

  • thank you U2bianSynic - I guess the good thing about being made of latex is that you can get squished and still bounce back! :)

  • amazing .....the ether...the here an now or the....there and now....it's incredible...

  • Thank you so much fingercheese. Much appreciated. :)

  • Beautiful. Happy New Year.

  • Thank you Azy. Happy New Year to you too! :)

  • What a beautifully pensive piece. Your vids touch my soul in indescribable ways... so good to get another piece of you. Best wishes your way!

  • Thank you so much cdeeryart. I feel very lucky to have found people like you who enjoy these little movies. It is a blessing for me. :)

  • You are a blessing for many of us, I'm sure. Just keep doin' what ya do when ya feel like doin' it... you are timeless :)

  • What I love the most is that it's going up the stairs! cool :D

  • Thanks Meg! Little Balloon needed to get somewhere. :)

  • Awesome!

Fun, quirky, and spontaneous! As usual!

  • thank you whenyagetdrafted! :)

  • I once filled hundreds of balloons with helium for my 15th birtday with friends. We ended up with soar throats because of the vocalistic donald duck imitations and the idea we we're getting high instead of a headache LOL!

you showed how fragile life can be on our journey but also with strenght as the balloon survived the car, good one Caren!

  • Thanks Dudean. Helium balloons are so fun but better in moderation perhaps. Haha. :)

  • wow! this was great!

  • Thank you so much Philosopher Fresh! :)

  • Great- reminds me of that red balloon movie I saw as a kid.

  • Thanks Loonylisa! :)

  • Nice story!!

Everything is diff'rent seen through the eyes of an artist!

    Thanks!!

  • Thanks Frida! How nice of you to say! :)

  • This reminds me of a film I saw as a child.

    "The Red Balloon"

It haunts me to this day.

  • Thanks Clobberbob55. That is a powerful movie. There is something suggestive about balloons that corresponds to humanity.

  • I think your the only one to get me to care about the plight of the balloon. lol!

3 favorite parts were: when I was watching the balloon writhe across the street a then WHAM got dragged by the car. (I wasn't expecting that), when the balloon rose up in the stair well and then the shot of it resting at its destination safely in the chair.

    Very very cool!

  • Thank you so much taoworn23. Those are my favorite parts too! :)

  • deadringer23 music is nice!

  • Thanks KittyKatsUnite - I think so too! :)

  • Magical! Great idea, and great job as well! xoxoxox Happy Healthy New Year to you guys!!

  • thank you omniscientmoon77. :)

  • i like i faved

  • thank you Clubsoda! That is very nice!!! :)

  • this is my new favorie EAGLECROWOWL video

    -Luis

  • Thank you Luis - perhaps we will feature the plight of homeless balloons more often. :)

  • this reminds me of the movie where the guy films the plastic bags...

  • It is a lot like that. Thanks kpnolan52. :)

  • HI Caren. YT ate my commet 2x, lol. This is beautiful. The balloon was very lucky to have to pass it by, and WE are very fortunate that you ran back for your camera. It's amazing what kind of story something so simple can tell, and without saying a word! I suggested a short mute film from 1954-ish for you and Olive to see (if you have not yet already. It's called "Le Balloon Rouge" often titled, "The Red Balloon'. I recommend it for it's sweetness. Your beautiful footage brought it to mind.

  • Thanks for coming back Sarah! :) I have watched that movie, Andy got it for Olive but we should rent it again. It's very very beautiful.

  • That first part looked fake.

  • Hi Markakroll. I wasn't trying to convey that I hadn't interacted with the balloon, just that the balloon really was outside moving about and that, though, I felt I could do a better job by re-staging the whole thing, I thought I would just stick with the footage I got. But for the record I did move the balloon around. :)

  • you did a mighty fine job on keeping up with that balloon! Nice video, eaglecrowowl.

  • thank you KittyKatsUnite! :)

  • I anxiously await your next video. You are consistently good. better and better, really.

  • thank you AVDJ. I have a another video I have been working on for months. I don't know if it's months long good but it's coming together (haha). Sooner or later I will finish it. :)

  • Haha, that's a good one IamNotTheMoon. That's probably what he needs! :)

  • If the balloon were to fill itself with helium, would that be considered a form of self-medication?

  • very cool...a balloon just trying to make its way home...reminds me of the paper sequence in "American Beauty". I like this a little better- that was abstract- this seems to have almost a story to it...

  • Thank ejp3art, it was really the music that helped me see the story. I was considering added voiceover but it seemed better to leave it open ended. Happy New Year to you! :)

  • the music's great...sort of Euro-semi-romance/tragedy/retro...a voice over would've killed this (maintain the mystery). Happy New Year back at ya.

  • Peace to you! : ) Great little video. Happy New Year!

    Peace and Blessings,

    Angie

  • thank you Angie - peace and blessings to you too! :)

  • thank you Popsicleculture ! :)

  • I like how the balloon was resting on the chair after dragging along...hope your journeys take you to new and interesting places this year :)

  • thank you so much Kittenstomper. I wish the same for you. :)

  • I kept thinking... how will this end? I can't watch!

Do you remember that Ikea commercial from years back (search 'ikea lamp commercial' on Youtube) where the guy says , You feel sorry for the lamp? That is because you are crazy!

    I guess I am. Aren't we all?

  • Hmm - I replied to you Elphy but the comment is gone. Ah Well. Let me start over. I am so glad the balloon didn't pop. I am not sure what the end means but at least he has reached higher ground. Here's to crazy! Happy New Year. :)

  • *nods*

    That'll do.

  • thank you PuppyZwolle . :)

  • You did understand that that is the ultimate understatement for "WOW!!!!!" right?

It almost looks to good to be an accidental filming. Looks like a dream sequence in a movie that cost a bundle to make.

    Faved it.

  • I definitely took it as a compliment but thank you for the additional love, I really appreciate it! And though the balloon really was out and about on it's own, I did help it get to the chair. cheers PuppyZwolle! :)

  • Great video as always! I was so glad that he made to the chair. Phew it was a close call with that car.:o)

Lovely concept, that balloon's a fantastic dancer too.

    :o)

  • Thank you Gary. So glad he didn't pop! :)

  • Tough times with a happy ending. Love it.

  • thank you Dali!

  • An "ECO" video never fails to enlighten and entertain! This one continues that tradition.

I hope to see more of your vids in the coming year...I dream that if I watch enough of your vids they will unlock the sleeping creativity within me *sigh* One day! :^)

  • Thanks for the nice comment justpassnthru, that is sweet. :)

  • I love it and I'm pleased you made it! :D

    Happy new year!

  • Thank you Paul! :)

  • this is beautiful!

we're all being pushed around by the wind in one way or another

    thank you!

  • Thanks Ozk3r - we are all being pushed around by the wind. Here's to rolling with grace. Happy New Year to you! :)

  • that balloon made me feel hungry! i think i will eat something light! thank goodness the balloon found a place to sit. very nice film.

  • Thank you John. :) Love your talking devices.

  • sometimes I feel like that balloon, full of air and aimless. But not today...

  • Thanks BigLoveZone, I like that phrase, full of air and aimless. That would be a great title for this piece. :)

  • 'but I am a believer in availablism and better made than unmade'...Nice ;)

  • thank you Gary! :)

  • this is so lovely- reminds me of that wonderful film, the Red Balloon, where a boy called Pascal is befriended by a balloon as sentient and magical as this one

  • Thank you Medicinesocks! I remember that film. There is something about balloons. The other night one floated into my bedroom while reading (Olive had gotten it at the grocery store) paused at the foot of my bed and then floated right to my face. It was startlingly weird. I had to take it back out to the living room in order to turn the lights out. :)

  • balloon has emotion and brings emotion

  • I like your name wolfenhaus. Thanks for the comment! :)

  • eaglecrowowl here. Can any new viewer tell me if the watch in high quality function is showing up? Thank you!

  • when I type in the &fmt=18 after the regular video address, i DO get the high quality video (& underneath it is says "view in normal quality", as it should - and it DOES look clearer).

However, I do NOT get the "view in high quality" link underneath the video when I click on it normally.

It may be a problem with YT at the moment, though. I was waiting forever for a high quality version of my Christmas video. And I finally just deleted it and uploaded an HD in hopes of getting HD.

  • thanks Dale!

  • I had to click the link, in the description, for HQ. It seems like that function has been really inconsistent since the last HD "upgrades." =( It does look really nice, in HQ. Great visual narrative and very cool change of pace. Happy New Year!

  • thank you JA. Good to know. I am looking forward to seeing something new from you soon! :)

  • EXCELLENT !!!!

  • thank you MyArtSongs! :)

  • So this is the famous balloon video we talked about! :-D

WOW! Talk about being an opportunist!

I love how you see the world. It both inspires me and frustrates me.

It inspires because of how wonderfully you look at certain things and see opportunities for a deeper message, etc.

It frustrates because I am not wired that way, and I WANT to be! LOL

Loved the music, movement, and the entirety of it all.

    Always inspiring!

  • Thank you so much Dale. I was frustrated in a way by this balloon because I needed to get back to work (rather than filming it) and then later I wished I had filmed A LOT more. But what can you do. I didn't know how I would use the footage. Putting it with that music made me see the potential. I really appreciate your comments! :)

  • Wonderful floating journey of the lil gold balloon that could! Happy New Year!

  • thank you cooksterz! :)

  • ♥

  • warm fuzzy..mmmmm :)

  • I like the way you did this:))) Happy New Year Eaglecrowowl, heres to 2009 may it bring a brighter tomorrow!!! Cheers hun:)

  • Thank you sistermoonshine. A super duper big Happy New Years to you! :)

  • Thank you so much for this :)

  • my pleasure. So glad you like it. Thanks cardmadillotanzen. :)

  • Hey Andrea! See my comment above to Caryn and check out the film I mentioned. If you have a half hour to spare you'd probably enjoy the short film. You might even find it on google vids. :o)

  • I don't see your comment above. Maybe it didn't post?
