Rumor has it that Naresh Iyer was one of two finalists in the show,the judges being ARR and Adnan Sami. While asked to judge between the 2 fnal contestants, Rahman had this to say :

"I have good news as well as bad news for you. Which one would you want to listen to first?"

Naresh : "The bad."

ARR : "You're out of the competition."

Naresh : "And?"

ARR : "Report in to my studio the first thing tomorrow morning!"

Rahman is good, but these people unnecessarily give too much hype, as though God of music etc.... That shows only their limited exposure to music and emotional response. He does get his inputs from other music styles such as Egyptian, Turkish, Arabic, western, rap etc. This is all because of the film world, the one and the only music forum in India. Classical is a closed world anyway in India.

nostalgicgirl, There is no doubt about the fact that Rahman is a nice person. But in this case, Adnan is showing tough image becoz thats the formula of these shows. They deliberately make this so that contestants don't get dejected and to balance the impact. This is the same format starting from American Idol and followed by all reality shows now.
