  • go zero

  • aaaah Aukgland punks - suburban sluts, closet queens and ludicrous boot boys AWOL from Papakura...the rest of the country had middle class farmboys wearing max fuktor eyeliner desperate for recognition by the Auk scene. I hated them, especially the Enema ee, where is B Staff now that enzed musick is tepid reclecticism... kiddies today have no politiks or energy...

  • I first saw them in a classic cinema gig in Auckland I still have the poster, we got so trashed I fell over and blood was running down the inside of my clear plastic pants..HA3.. the things we do (;-))

  • Bloody Great

  • excellent to see this again....

  • That bit from 0.43 to 0.55 is Shark Attack by Split Enz! Tim must've heard this and thought 'I'll 'ave that, ta very much'!! Ker-ching!

  • & Bones went on to Midnight Oil.

  • brett salter is my teacher...lmfao!

  • my social studies teacher.

  • phil-jim was untrained-as were we all-that was the point!Idiot.Anyway,better that than a pervert....Zero

  • philjudd (if you see this)- what exactly did you contribute to SNSH? Honestly, all the riffs and the outro section sounds to me like your hand...

  • He lost his voice but I saw Pearl Jam play one of his songs in Auckland.

  • Brett Salter was the qworst sax player i'd ever heard ....

was wrapped to rearrange the essentially good song...

but I think they all realised they were very average musos

  • still love toy love

  • NZs answer to Suzie Sue.

  • Nites at Zwines ! I was a very young cop at the time but blended into the crowd. & dealt to many an over zealous "coconut" (still no apparent evolution happening) with GBH on the albeit brain. Des copped the shit end of a floggin' so the legend goes- Smitty dealt to 'em all so says the "unofficial" conclusion... Was hopelessly in love with "Zero" & would have married the girl had the gap between job preferences shrunk (like a fucking retard diwarff !) No mal- itions intended,

  • Memories oh memories,

Zero and Des do U remember me and the times we had?

  • im not really a fan of this band... i lookd it up because......

BRETT SALTER IS MY SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER AT TAWA COLLEGE!!!!!!!!!!

send me a message or two if u wanna talk firther...

  • hes jimmy salter now isnt he??

hes so emo now.. i cant believe he rings a cow bell everytime he tells us to shut up.. it looks nothing like him

  • What was the RWP special? either way... wish we still had it!

  • If I'm not mistaken the handsome guy on lead guitar here(all dressed in black)is none other than PHIL JUDD!

  • Correct! Apparently he did the musical arrangements and floored the rest of the band with his expertise.

  • best song ever!

  • the punk chik singing on "saturday nite stay at home' is called Zero. Go the subs!

  • Just how good was / is Phil Judd

I reckon Howard devoto heard this and wrote Shot by Both Ssides co he ripped the guitar parts

  • @NormalLine You're probably right! Judd's great!!

  • @NormalLine Three problems with that - 1. the guitar parts sound _nothing_ like Shot By Both Sides and, 2. Devoto/McGeoch wrote it in1977 (with bits supplied by Pete Shelley) and it was released early '78. Reptiles single was released late 78 and, 3. the guitar parts sound _nothing_ like Shot By Both Sides (that one is worth mentioning twice). Having said that I like both songs

  • @mindtpi - I wasnt actually being serious.

  • Hate your neibours has most of the songs featured on ak79, plus a few extras like nocturnal projections, steroids, and the dumdum boys. PRICELESS NEWZEALAND PUNK AT ITS FILTHY FUCKING BEST.

  • Brilliant. I'd never heard of them until I'd bought the Hits & Myths compilation album. Phil Judd featured in about 4 bands on the album.

  • Yes, many people don't realize that Phil was an important member of many more legendary bands than simply Split Enz. He is truly one of Australasia's most important artists-a true original and a bloody genius!

  • shame on u New Zealander i believe

  • New Zealand last time I checked was STILL part of Australasia....but then what do I know I'm a Yank!

    ;)

  • @Babyhowdy233 Closer than yer may reckon maestro. The majority of Kiwis wish to merge with Australia.

  • I never saw them. My sister who is , her words "musically illiterate" did. C'est la vie!! LOL

  • I had the AK79 tape but a brother lost it before he lost himself.

  • This was back when punk rock girls didn't buy their clothes from the "punk rock" store at the mall.

  • Both songs were on the AK79 album. I wish there was more on UT.

  • Think the Suburban Reptiles track was Megaton.

  • You are right.

  • The sax player is my Social Studies teacher! Rock on Jimmy Salter! =P

  • I concur.

  • Pity its so quiet!...great song..Phil Judd pure genius...Finns anybody?..didn't think so..

  • @CRAWBURGER Genius !! no Finn off my bach!! hahah
