aaaah Aukgland punks - suburban sluts, closet queens and ludicrous boot boys AWOL from Papakura...the rest of the country had middle class farmboys wearing max fuktor eyeliner desperate for recognition by the Auk scene. I hated them, especially the Enema ee, where is B Staff now that enzed musick is tepid reclecticism... kiddies today have no politiks or energy...
I first saw them in a classic cinema gig in Auckland I still have the poster, we got so trashed I fell over and blood was running down the inside of my clear plastic pants..HA3.. the things we do (;-))
Nites at Zwines ! I was a very young cop at the time but blended into the crowd. & dealt to many an over zealous "coconut" (still no apparent evolution happening) with GBH on the albeit brain. Des copped the shit end of a floggin' so the legend goes- Smitty dealt to 'em all so says the "unofficial" conclusion... Was hopelessly in love with "Zero" & would have married the girl had the gap between job preferences shrunk (like a fucking retard diwarff !) No mal- itions intended,
@NormalLine Three problems with that - 1. the guitar parts sound _nothing_ like Shot By Both Sides and, 2. Devoto/McGeoch wrote it in1977 (with bits supplied by Pete Shelley) and it was released early '78. Reptiles single was released late 78 and, 3. the guitar parts sound _nothing_ like Shot By Both Sides (that one is worth mentioning twice). Having said that I like both songs
Hate your neibours has most of the songs featured on ak79, plus a few extras like nocturnal projections, steroids, and the dumdum boys. PRICELESS NEWZEALAND PUNK AT ITS FILTHY FUCKING BEST.
Yes, many people don't realize that Phil was an important member of many more legendary bands than simply Split Enz. He is truly one of Australasia's most important artists-a true original and a bloody genius!

philjudd (if you see this)- what exactly did you contribute to SNSH? Honestly, all the riffs and the outro section sounds to me like your hand...

He lost his voice but I saw Pearl Jam play one of his songs in Auckland.

Brett Salter was the qworst sax player i'd ever heard ....

If I'm not mistaken the handsome guy on lead guitar here(all dressed in black)is none other than PHIL JUDD!
Babyhowdy233 3 years ago
Correct! Apparently he did the musical arrangements and floored the rest of the band with his expertise.

Brilliant. I'd never heard of them until I'd bought the Hits & Myths compilation album. Phil Judd featured in about 4 bands on the album.
