  • I am happy to learn that they saved the olive trees. They were dug up and planted in crates so they can be replanted with the new landscape. I very much expected them to do so due to the religious significane of the olive tree.

CDspartan21 - Se non lo leggi non saprai mai se e falso. Molti non hanno mai letto la Bibbia per lo stesso motivo. Non chiedere a nessuno, chiedi solo a Dio

  • I hope that the Catholic Church and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints can coexist peacefully, there's nothing our Heavenly Father would want more than friendship between his children.

  • @Studioso Ain't no way Europe will outlaw the LDS church from there, we have to good a relationship with several of the governments there for that to EVER happen.

  • i served in milan from 05-07 and was soooo excited to hear about this!! thanks!

  • what song os playing? its beautiful!!

  • Woohoo! The Original gospel returns to Italy 1900 years later... I'd hardly call that a "little season"

  • @qtous The gospel has already been there for a long time it's just that there hasn't been a temple there I don't think at all ever. It's exciting.

  • What are the cordinates for this land? I wanna look it up on a digital map.

  • I wonder if the Pope will visit during the open house. Maybe he'll feel the Spirit and be converted! maybe not.....

  • Oh hell no! Mormons are Christian Satanic Masons, why would the Holy Father want that? I hope Italy outlaws Mormonism soon, and all of Europe for that matter.

  • Christian and Satanic are a contradiction. Individual conversion is a personal issue. Why such hatred?

  • My Dad heard President Kimball prophesy in Rome over 30 years ago that there would be a temple in the shadow of the Vatican. He never thought that he would live to see the day. My brother also served in Milan. They are excited to see the work continue to roll forth.

  • well let see what the vatican will do..perhaps the vatacants elite assasins may be involved..

  • I'm so glad the Church is building a temple in Rome. I'm sure it will be beautiful. I have a friend that served a mission in Rome and he's so exited about the new temple.

  • Church members are counted among the victims of a deadly earthquake that shook central Italy on Monday.

No members or missionaries were killed or injured in the magnitude-6.3 temblor, although three member families reportedly lost their homes in the disaster.

  • The earthquake hit the city of L'Aquila and several towns covering 230 square miles in central Italy early Monday, April 6, leveling buildings and reducing entire blocks to piles of rubble, according to the Associated Press. It was the worst quake to hit Italy in three decades.

  • "They are still having tremors and aftershocks," Italy Rome Mission President Jeffrey Acerson told the Church News on Wednesday, April 8. "There are still people missing."

  • A Church meetinghouse that serves members in the L'Aquila Branch, Rome Italy Stake, suffered some damage from the shaking, including cracks in the wall, according to President Acerson. The building has not yet been cleared for use following the quake.

  • The missionaries serving in impacted areas have been moved to other communities, said President Acerson.

Meanwhile, leaders in the Rome Italy Stake, under the direction of President Massimo De Feo, are coordinating future volunteer relief efforts in cooperation with the local Red Cross.

  • President Acerson said many returned missionaries who served in Italy and other members have been calling local Church offices offering assistance.

"It has been refreshing to see their care and concern," he said.

  • This will be so cool! I can't wait until work begins!

  • Jesus said to beware of false prophets and satans children disrupting Gods children, the mormons wanna build a church near the Holy Catholic Church, for one b/c the mormons always had Catholic envy, this will NOT be allowed

  • Probably the work of the CIA. That is one of the main conduits through which the catholic knights and the mormons work together. Not suprised that the disciples of american false prophets are solidifying their operations in the city of that great harlot.

  • I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet...When they can get rid of me, the devil will also go." (History of the Church, Vol. 6, p. 408, 409 Joesmith

  • Tra qualche tempo finalmente ci sarà un video sul Tempio di Roma, sarà fantastico avere finalmente un Tempio in Italia anche se il Tempio di Berna resterà sempre nel mio cuore.

  • Thanks for sharing this. It is so wonderful to see the restored gospel with all of its blessings cover the earth. We have a member of our Ward who is serving her mission in Italy. This is so exciting! God bless you.

  • A Mormon temple is MUCH better than an islamic mosque ANY day!

  • I am certain it will compliment the landscape and be a beautiful a beautiful addition to the very full and wonderful history of the place. Many of my best friends are or have been Roman Catholic.

  • Looks like a nice place.

I hope the Catholic Church and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will enjoy working together in Rome as they do in Salt Lake City.

All it will do is cause a war

  • @PolishAbinadi

I too hope that the Vatican welcomes the LDS Temple to Rome with open arms of Christ-like love! The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Roman Catholic Church have a history of tolerance and peace towards each other that is an example to the world. It would be sad to see that suddenly deteriorate after our many years of friendship.

  • The Apostle Paul was likely to have crossed over this land. Surely he is looking down and smiling from above.

  • too cool!

  • Really cool!

  • thank you so much for posting this. I was wondering this myself.

  • Thanks for sharing this with me. Amazing to think a house of the Lord will be built there. HOLINESS TO THE LORD THE HOUSE OF THE LORD
