I have watched several of his knot vids and the last thing you want to show a first-timer is THE WRONG WAY. His hands are often in the way, as well. He should shoot over his shoulder and only depict the correct way to do it ... OR ... STOP TEACHING !

will taping the strands cause the knot to slip? i just bought 1.5" rope from the hardware store and i plan on making an eye splice, although it seems super confusing. i'd like to color code the strands but i'm be concerned about the knot coming undone.
